That's all Tyrion's doing. Dany presumed (rightly) he was relatively trustworthy, as he helped her deal with her dragons in terms of things like feeding, housing, riding, dragonsaddles...

That too of course <_,< The Imp helped.

They have seemed to be more of Tommen's dynasty from what I've seen.

Tommen was basically raised by Tyrion after Dany's Landing.

They are; but Dany doesn't hold children responsible for the sins of their fathers.

Tyrion became Lord of Casterly Rock but he died without Heir and the nearest appointment of Blood was Tommen's Child.

The Lannisters committed heinous crimes during the War of the Five Kings. Petty is a weak word. Horrific is far more fitting.

Well as i said Casterly forgave its prior loans to the Throne, and therefore much of its promised income, but the gold mines are still flowing richly and the Vassal houses still pay tribute.

They are not as wealthy as they were under Tywin the first during the final year of his reign in 299AL, But we aren't poppers.

Did any dromonds from Aurane's fleet survive? Or will there have to be built new ones?

See, Dorne is pretty much in a pact of friendship with Casterly Rock since these Lannisters are descended from Tryion, who the Red Viper died to defend, and not the monster Tywin who murdered Ellia and her children. I take it Dany had the same idea.

typical lannister way of thinking. gold can't solve everything, no one will forget or forgive something no matter how much gold they sent.

i dare to say, that even after 60 years of trying, Lannisters aren't popular so much...

i am also curious what would/will happen when their gold mines will be depleted  you know, that no mines are bottomless, yes?
"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta

Apparently they are. Even after 60 fucking years they are still flowing. And they no longer control the Gold Mines of Castamere either.

Of course. I forgot. They have all the gold in the world! They can buy the world and rule everything! Let's let Mormak have all the power because he has all the gold! Bow down to the Lannisters and their gold!

They're still around. Aurane bolted before his fleet was engaged by the Ironborn after smashing the Redwynes.

Or Spain? I never agreed with comparison maps of Europe-Westeros...let's see:

- North (Scandinavia)
- Vale (Alps-Germany)
- Westerlands (South France)
- Riverlands (Benelux, pieces of France and Germany)
- Crown Lands (Dalmatia)
- Stormlands (Carpathians)
- Reach (Italy)
- Iron Islands (Ireland)
- Bear Island (Iceland)
- Arbor (Sicily)
- Dorne (Greece-Anatolia/Spain)

Legit?

In terms of Culture.

Actually, I believe it goes like this:
-North: Scandinavia
-Vale: North Italy, Alpine France (In the series looks like a fairly refined court, so french and Italy looks good, but not too mediterranean)
-Westerlands: England, near Wales. (Lannisters are inspired partially in Lancasters and in the Tudor dynasties, originated in that region. Also, hills would fit Wales into that area).
-Riverlands: German/French border, maybe Belgium. (Not only wet, but also a border region. Feels like Poland)
-Crownlands: No idea, maybe Normandy?
-Stormlands: Asturias, Cantabrian Spain/Ireland (Battered Coast and also the fact they historically stand against Dornishmen, just as Asturias and northern Spain stood vs Muslims, feels suitable)
-Reach: France (Fairly flat in most parts, also France seems, just as the Reach, to be the craddle of the classical medieval topics of court love, chivalry and such stuff. Although Italy would fit due to Oldtown-Rome similitudes)
-Iron Islands: Ireland (No question there :P)
-Bear Island: Iceland.
-Arbor: Sicily, Malta (Pretty much any mediterranean wine-producing island)
-Dorne: Spain (Again, Muslim domination, semi-arid terrain in Andalucia and a cultural clash seems to be very close to Dornish overal profile)

Of course, all subjective, and only my personal opinion.

They would be in the stepstones, so under the Blackfryes most likely... or for hire

Lunsas confirmed they kept their GOT output of Gold which is quite a bit.

Its a long lasting mining operation by the standards of today, but back in the era GOT would be comparable to in our own reality? Unless if you were actively pushing for depletion mines could often be used for decades if not centuries. The Kolar gold fields were in usage by at least 1 BC and are still in use today, they have made many new mines obviously, but the region still has gold today, even after being in use for more then two thousand years.

Crownlands should be decently warm place. Not warm as Greece, but still no Baltic Sea or La Manche.
I always imagined Croatia or Black Sea coast.

And North can be also Russia :D And Siberia is land beyond the Wall :P
