All of those are too green and vibrant in landscape, Theon upon his initial return to the Iron isles described it very well; Stony, and brown; It has poor soil, mines and mostly is barren due to all the tree's being used for the construction of buildings or ships.

The Iron Islands are small, barely-fertile rocks with few safe harbours. The seas around the islands are stormy, frequently wreaking havoc with their considerable force.

Just google "Game of Thrones Iron Islands Landscape"

official iron island landscape is Ireland, and all pictures are from Ireland, but even Ireland has complicated landscape :D i can make Pyke as stony place with just mines in general, while Great Wyk or Harlow can look almost nice enough for farming.
"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta

Yeah.. I've always seen the Iron Islands as rocky as well.. maybe some green. Sorta like the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.

it can't be, since it's located in the middle of westeros. storms and waves can be bitches, but generally there must be weather not different from Riverrun, since it's same geographical width.

And if Westerlands are France, Iron Islands are Ireland with no doubt.

Bear Island is Alaska :)

Can you stop whine and actually write something before you ran second time?

Some people actually trying to keep it alive, story progressing, it looks kickassing, but someone just complain and whine why it so sucks. :p

No offense.

It's kinda lame to ran again with no new posts, especially since there were (are) a lot of new people what would take Baratheons gladly.

Bonjour et bonsoir! (You have to know me to get the French.)

Forewarning: Anything below this point is going to be either facetious, objectively irrelevant, fun RPs, or simply my personally ramblings.

I have learned how to exclaim my divinity in four languages. Soy un dios! Je suis un dieu! Ich bin ein Gott! I am a god! I find this to be proof of my divinity.

Anyway, some RPs:

The weather is very different from Riverrun... For one it's always freezing on the Iron Islands, with temperatures that rival some parts of the North. Two it's always windy on the Iron islands, which has killed off most of the smaller plant life. Three its very, very hilly whereas the Riverlands are very, very flat.

If your a fan of the popular "Westeros is based off of Europe" theory the Iron Islands are the very top of Scotland or Iceland

One of the minor house players should take Baratheon. Minor houses are great fun and add alot to a story....but not if all the major players are not full

It depends on reader's interpretations what is 'barely-fertile'.

Scotland, barren, deforested and cold land is 'barely fertile' for any guy from Occitania, Hungary or Ukraine.

And medieval Ireland, barren, stormy and long time deforested, also wasn't exactly warm and fertile land. It could feed it's inhabitants, but it's not like there were piles of carrots and cherry trees around every road.

Iceland idea is completely wrong. And there is actual Iceland in GRRM's world, with even similar shape - Ibben.
(But yes, you can complain that's actually Greenland - then Iceland is Bear Island...or Skagos)

Iron Island must be an Ireland or we can compromise with Scotland. But no more to north, since Scandinavia is North

It really doesn't.

Theon painted a decently accurate picture in game of thrones.

I offered once before, but with the prospect of controlling House Lannister, Westerling, the Lannisport Lannisters, and possibly the Blackfyre's and their allies...I likely would be too busy to give the Baratheons the attention they need.

Perhaps we will get lucky and a Baratheon fan will stumble on to the roleplay.
