I'd hardly call that a beta modern armor suit. Perhaps the equivalent of a bomb disposal suit? Except meant for combat?

And to be honest, the suit is closer to this than a heavy armor suit.

It's got heavy titanium/tungsten scale armor on the outside... that can do a lot more than protect from explosions...

That's why this suit is designed with active defense measures. Why make really heavy armor that's meant to take multiple hits from heavy things when you can just blow them away before they get close? The armor can take a tank shell, but that's really not advisable in a live combat situation, the kinetic energy could catapult Silver into somewhere where he doesn't want to be.

...Are you talking an anti-missle system? Like an SDI of sorts? If so... you need some intelligent AI system to work it along with a targeting system and a material to use to destroy the weapons before they hit... good luck with the armor staying mobile...

That's... that's not how it works, I'm afraid.

You would need to manage technology and make it smaller (nanotech) for the suit to even remain really mobile. The reason for this is the fact that weapons will advance with the armor and will be able to counter it if the armor is too slow.

I mean, sure we could try and slamm a giant mech suit together, but that wouldn't really be effective what with drones, tanks, air strikes, anti-tank weapons, etc... which are all apparently in here since its modern Equestria.

Now, we're working on a scale a bit different than the real world's, that leaves room for experimentation. Also, I already have an AI, or have you not read any of my posts? There is even a threat detection system and a HUD that can be discreetly worn without being noticed even while not wearing anything else.

I do plan on making the active protection a CIWS. It may be based off of a smaller version of the Iron Fist (hard-kill device made by Israel, known to hit things as fast as kinetic penetrators) or a laser based one for multiple uses (the US Navy was going to install one on a ship this year actually) and I also plan to have multiple units all over the suit. It will be form fitting (it would be a bitch to figure out where to cram everything but I'll manage) and have high survivability and retaliatory ability.
