Um... WW1 their wasn't a naval base at cyprus... it was malta where the fleet was based.

After a little bit of research I've found Cyprus mentioned as a "Vital naval asset" to the British, especially seeing as the island was loaned to use as a naval base. But then again, no specific mentions of any major fleet being stationed there. Fair call on that.

There was a sizable one during the Napoleonic wars and the Crimean War, I guess it just kinda faded or something.

You most certainly must change it. It doesn't matter the conditions; what you did IS godmodding, and should not be tolerated. You do not make the decision whether a player should be penalized for refusing to respond: that is the OP's decision. Even then, it would've been more appropriate to send the player a TG, asked us ICly how we would feel about you dictating losses for another player and waited.


No, you should not take matters in your own hands, and I certainly refuse to sympathize with you in this case. You should've awaited the OP's verdit before breaking on of the fundamental laws of RP. What you did is wholly and grossly unacceptable. Yor operations cannot simply succeed.

Amongst things wrong eith your post are the suggestion of massive carnage. You suggest that the enemy was taking huge losses, where the German player should be the one to dictate that. You, further, also refuse to give the German player an appropriate response. He could'nt engage your shis at sea which would've been stretegical for him, and you simply dictted the success of your channel crossing.

Errr...Inuitland. I will say this in the nicest way possible, but none of your post made any sense whatsoever. There are no allied powers at this time, and there is almosy no way that Germany is going to switch to the Entente, because Germany is the de facto leader of the central powers.

Furthermore, the Ottomans have no way of doing anything to you. I'm just sort of scratching my head right now, wondering If I didn't simply misread your post. In short, your post seems like a half assed twelve year old's attempt at playing Diplomacy.

"The North Sea was the main theater of the war for surface action. The British Grand Fleet took position against the German High Seas Fleet. Britain's larger fleet could maintain a blockade of Germany, cutting it off from overseas trade and resources. Germany's fleet remained mostly in harbor behind their screen of mines, occasionally attempting to lure the British fleet into battle (one of such attempts was the bombardment of Yarmouth and Lowestoft) in the hopes of weakening them enough to break the blockade or allow the High Seas Fleet to attack British shipping and trade. The best strategy for the Germans regarding their navy would be to use it as a 'fleet in being'; the Brits have to keep a set number of their Dreadnoughts and escorts to combat the German High Seas Fleet, which prevents them combating the US Atlantic Fleet.

It makes no sense at all. Firstly, Brazil wouldn't be able to afford 10 Dreadnought-level ships, and even if they could, Germany wouldn't sell ships that could be used to break the Royal Navy.

Secondly, the Ottomans give exactly 0 fucks about Brazilian crops. They're mostly self-sufficient regarding agriculture, and most other resources.

Thirdly, Germany also gives 0 fucks about Brazilian crops, since they can just import them from the US in peacetime and in wartime, well... That's when the trouble starts.

Edit: Also, Brazil doesn't have the economic power to issue sanctions with meaningful effect. It's like, say, Ghana embargoing Russia now.
