No it isn't. The Moon has no 'weight', because there is no gravity on it bar the Earth's. Now, if you knock it a tint bit out of it's current orbit, which is entirely possible, the Earth's gravity will do the rest.

Except the moon has mass. A LOT of mass. Along with so much inertia that you could try to nuke the crap out of the moon and you will do nothing of importance to its orbit. Such is the scale of space. This is also why that doomsday weapon will not work . The same is true for any asteroid of note, although smaller asteroids can probably be nudged. Of course, the other nation then correspondingly nudges back...

SeaTac, how do you think we should get to space? I'm thinking either a mega-Startram type thing if we have time or a lot of resources, a conventional space-airport thing if we have little time (heck, just build an airport and it works), or Project Orion if we preferred something on a totally different scale than everyone else. Speaking of which, due to the sheer power of Project Orion, I wonder if it should be banned by the Op/OoC consensus, else it might not be fair. The price per kilogram to orbit with these is $30, $3000 and $0.03 respectively.

Thanks to the originally lax regulations on businesses in the new country, many invested heavily in the new nation, but as the nation became more liberal and more regulated over time, the investment slowed and the floodgates of immigrants opened. Now, with a secure internal nation and a rapidly growing economy, what is next for the Grand Republic only fate knows.

The thawing of the arctic seas has opened the lands and waters to economic exploitation. Lands once buried in ice are rich in minerals. The seas have some of the last remaining oil and gas in a world past peak oil. The rising power and influence of the Canadian Civil War has led to a new a melting pot of opportunity, and Alaska is one of the few places on the Earth this is still possible. Driven by opportunity and security, Alaska had opened it's arms to the immigrants of the World, which helped fuel the rapid development of Alaska's infrastructure and giving way to a new middle class.

It'll either be like Vietnam, or it'll be like the Mexican-American War. We'll see. But Tibet is going to fall really quickly without any Indian backup....


And again, on the whole nukes thing and on missile subs, if you have any at all, I would assume they're obsolete and that a few warlords keep them as hidden things of last resort to be used for them alone.

And, like China, you can still have an authoritarian technocracy. You can also have some mixing and matching- China does have some Communist and neo-feudal influences.
