Fallout 2359 (IC, Sign Up First)

Postby Takoma Park » Fri Apr 04, 2014 5:08 pm

The year is 2359
The Lone Wanderer is long dead.
How?
What you should be asking yourself is what happened to the Wasteland. Who cares about the Lone Wanderer?
The Super Mutants been destroyed by the Brotherhood of Steel, all except s small faction living in Underworld, led by Fawkes, living alongside the Ghouls. The Brotherhood of Steel has established the 'Capital Republic', banding together several communities together on one side of the Potomac, while on the other, a coalition of scavengers, raiders, es-slaves Mutants, and Ghouls have founded the 'Metro Confederacy'. In the empty wastes beyond D.C., other factions have risen up.
But old rivalries are being rekindled, and war looms on the horizon.
Rivet City remains neutral, and the Jefferson Memorial is under their control, to ensure the neutrality of purified water.
As Three Dog once said, 'Fight the Good Fight.'
But there is no good fight.
Never has been.
It's always been strong vs weak, smart vs stupid.
Because war?
*Chuckle*
War never changes.

Theme

In this (Character) RP, you'll be taking the place of a mercenary.
A raider.
A settler.
A soldier.
An opportunist.
No matter what you are, you'll have to navigate your way through the churning waters of politics, trade, and everyday survival.
;) Have fun!
By the way, I am the BaRen. I'm just using this puppet because I can. And it's Fallout themed.
I am Ren's Fallout themed Puppet. :)

Factions
The Capital Republic: In 2301, the Brotherhood of Steel, with the permission of Little Lamplight, stormed into Vault 87, attacking the Super Mutant stronghold. Within a month, at heavy losses, the BoS had defeated the Super Mutants and destroyed Vault 87. With their 'breeding' ground gone, the Super Mutant population dwindled, but continued to fight against the Brotherhood. With the help of the Lone Wanderer and Fawkes, they established a community with the Ghouls in Underworld. With the Super Mutant threat gone for the time being, the Brotherhood of Steel made the ruins around the Citadel safe, and established the Capital Republic. The Enclave Remnants, with both of their bases gone, had been scattered. Several Enclave officers and their soldiers colonized and built settlements in the north, others formed their own very, very advanced mercenary groups and raider tribes. A large bulk of them joined the Capital Republic. The Capital Republic may have a smaller population than the Metro Confederacy, but they make up for that with having the largest, most advanced, and largest military in the Wasteland.
The Metro Confederacy: After Fawkes and his Mutants arrived in Underworld, their combined forces combed through the Museum of History, cleaning it out. The Underworld denizens and the ex-slaves of the Temple of the Union entered into an alliance, trading scrap for medical supplies. The 'Reformed' Mutants under Fawkes provided great security from slavers, and Talon Company. In Takoma Park, a small settlement had sprung up, with the help of Reilly's Rangers. Reilly, who was already aging, with the help of Fawkes, the new leader of the Temple of the Union, Caleb, and Doctor Barrows formed the Metro Confederacy. The Metro Confederacy has a large population, mainly because of the Takoma Parksters, the Underworld Ghouls and Mutants, the ex-slaves, but have a weak military compared to the Brotherhood of Steel, as the Metro Militia is armed with mostly Hunting Rifles and 10mm Pistols, although they are pioneering in ingenuity with the construction of many Railroad Rifles, and their wealth due to the fact that they have access to the D.C metro system.
Rivet City: WIP
Vault 101 And Megaton: After the lone Wanderer set the Vault Dwellers free by killing the Overseer when he returned to home, Amata became the De Facto leader of Vault 101. After a few weeks, the Vault became an important trade settlement, and it's security forces were unmatched in the area. Vault 101 became close allies, and eventually became indistinguishable from each other. Now, many years later, the Mayor of Megaton, and the Overseer of the Vault, still conduct close relations with one another. Megaton supplies a new gene pool to the Vault Dwellers, the Vault Dwellers bringing information and technology to Megaton, not to mention a strategic fall back point in case of an emergency.
GNR Colonies: Not really a faction, but it is important to the lore. Due to the Brotherhood's presence at the radio station, the Knights stationed there began to have families of their own, and eventually established a colony of the new Capital Republic there. Outside (When I say that, I mean those ruins where the Muties used to be) the Metro Republic had established their own colony. Currently, tensions are running high between the two.
United Conglomerate Expansion Force:In 2309 the people of the Northeastern capital wasteland were invaded by a force that was surely not from their area. The force almost immediately took over the area, and started raising the flags of the United Conglomerate a new country that arose from the ruins of New York City, and New Jersey. It, much like the NCR in the west started to quickly expand across the wastes. Bringing order, and civilization everywhere it went. Once it set up shop, it immediately expanded into places like Minefield, The Bethesda Ruins, and Old Olney. Immediately clearing both areas of the dangers that plagued them. Thanks to their work, Settlers from all over began flocking to them, populating the once forgotten towns. Now, they are a sort of "Sleeping Giant" clustered above Washington.

John gage walked to work like any other day. He was walking to the guard post in Megaton. He went up to the top and said "Hi bob,it's time for me to guard." They sat there a couple seconds looking out from the post set up above the gates. "This is so boring" John said "what do you mean?" Bob said "i mean sitting in here and guarding, hiding like babies from raiders. I mean we need to go out there and make this a civilized place." "I agree but what can we do we do not even have enough caps to survive out there."bob said "I know I hope my children will not go through this. It's boring sitting up here 70% of our lives. We hardly get jobs out there."-John "I'm going to sit up here"- bob "like usual me and you talking most of the time while not killing raiders trying to attack"- John "I'm going to mortiraty's for 30 mins."-bob "grab me one"-John. Bob started climbing down the lander heading to mortiraty's. John looked out into the vast openness of the wasteland. We should attack the old school over there john thought to himself.

Eddie | Rivet City
0800 Hours
Music

The thudding of boots echoed through the corridors of the aging ship. The thudding grew louder and louder outside until the metal ship separating the settlement to the outside world opened up and two guards appeared, dragging a sharply dressed Ghoul between them. They swung him back, then threw him forward, onto the walkway leading to the ship. "How many times do we have to tell you, Eddie," said one of the guards, "We do not want you here! Now, stay away!" The two men turned around and began to head for the door. The obviously drunken Ghoul stood up, barely keeping his balance. He drew a bottle of whiskey from his suit and aimed it at the two guards. Once they were inside of the ship, however, the door snapped shut. Eddie still threw the bottle, having it shatter against the door, sending shards of glass and droplets of firewater into the air.

After this, he collapsed and fell on the iron walkway. "You damned smooth skins!" he yelled, "I walked this Earth when there were still leaves in these freaking trees!" He mumbled a bit while trying to get up. He steadied himself, fixed his jacket, and began to walk down the walkway towards a metal platform. On it, a human beggar sat there in tattered clothing. He coughed a bit, revealing a small mouth in the shaggy, greying bush on his face. As Eddie passed, the beggar looked at him and stuck out an arm.

"Water," he said in a hoarse voice, "Do you... have... water? I need... water..." Eddie stopped and turned to the beggar.

"Why don't you get off yer bum fer once and actually try to find water yourself, you waste," snapped Eddie. The Ghoul continued to walk down the platform, receiving an angry glare and a curse or two from the beggar. Eddie didn't pay attention to it, though. He was used to these types of responses from the Humans who were fortunate enough to have been born after the Great War. Instead of looking back, he just kept going forward, not making so much as glance back at the beggar to acknowledge the insults. Eddie just went on his merry way, hoping to go to his home in the Underworld.
D.C Metros
1456 Hours

Eddie was cautiously making his way through the metros of D.C, as he always had. He wasn't afraid of the Feral Ghouls, since they didn't seem to mind regular Ghouls. No, he was afraid of the Raiders in the region. Although a couple tunnels were cleared in order to bring supplies to and from the Underworld, not all were cleared. Eddie was just unfortunate to only have access to one that wasn't cleared. As he walked ahead, he could see a dim orange light under some rubble. It was a landmine. He wasn't afraid of it, he was actually very surprised at these raider's creativity. Most of the time, the wasters would just plop a mine anywhere.

He approached the mine slowly, making sure not to set it off. As he got closer, he began to hear soft music playing from a radio up ahead, in what looked to be a derailed metro train. A dim light was on and Eddie could almost make out the head of a raider sitting inside. He knew this wouldn't be easy, especially since the raider was inside of a train. He had a plan, though. It was a stretch but it just might work. He picked up a stone from the ground and tossed it at the landmine up ahead. He leaped in front of the train wreckage as he heard the mine begin to beep.

Beep, beep, be-e-e-e-e-e-p!

The explosion went off, sending a small chunk of wood into Eddie's arm. "Shit," he murmured. However, he heard the radio broadcast change in the distance. He also heard the cocking of a shotgun and the clatter of feet against metal. Eddie shuffled off to the side of the train that was closest to the tunnel wall as he pulled out his pistol from the suit. He sat there, in the dark, waiting. He listened to the foot steps of the raider as he came nearer and nearer. At the same time, he listened to the exciting voice of the GNR disk jockey. "Three Dog was always better," he thought.

Steven green, United Conglomerate Expansion Force, Commander 4th Degree

Steven was in his personal tent, and he looked at a map of the Capital wasteland. He took a sip of purified water and started circling areas that would be of interest with a pencil. All he could think of is on how he could top his masterpiece at New Carson. He needed a large settlement, it didn't need to be larger than New Carson, the deaths just needed to be much MUCH worse than what was seen in Delaware. D.C. was obviously not reachable at the time, but the small settlements of Big town and Arefu looked perfect. "I think I found my newest masterpiece." He said to himself as a wicked smile grew across his face.

A young soldier barged in panting "Sir! The Grand Council authorized you to take any settlement you see!"

"Wonderful." Steven grabbed his Assault rifle and Pistol, and walked out into town. Conglomerate soldiers were everywhere, instructing citizens, traders, and random travelers. The Conglomerate brought order to these areas, and they brought safety. Steven looked around with a smug look "Ignorant savages, good thing we came here to educate them." He pulled out his personal radio "Alright, Alpha Squad and Sierra Squad report at the town exit."

Right after he gave those order, 2 squads of 5 rushed to the end of the town looking over the large wasteland. Steven walked up to them and examined them all closely. "You all appear to be ready for the wastes. This is good." he started pacing in front of them "Now gentlemen, we are going to be trekking over to the settlement known as 'Big Town'. Desolate little area that would serve as proof of our power in the region if we were to take it. Our orders are simple, do not alert the D.C. Factions; Kill anyone who dares stand in our way; And reach the Bethesda Outpost before tomorrow morning." He stopped and looked at them all "Understood?"

All of the soldiers saluted him "SIR YES SIR."

"Good, now let's move out!"

The bullet met his face, creating a loud ping as Percy hit the ground with thud. Immediatly, bullets started flying at the heads of his squad. The took cover, and started to return fire. The bullet that hit Percy had created a lound bing inside his helmet, and now he feels deaf. He managed to stand, and see the raiders. He picked up his rifle and fired, melting one into goo. He shot 3 more, then yelled "Fall back! Fall back!". They ran, and ran, getting hit by bullets as they did. They soon came up to the giant steel walls of Megaton, sweaty, and breathless. Their armor was tainted grey, after the sand in the wastes. They staggered into the town, meeting the major, Sims jr. "Enclave huh? thought you guys were destroyed long ago". Percy stepped foreward. "How are your feelings about the Capital Republic?" he asked. Simms thought. "Could care less, they are good trade partners, and so is Vault 101". Percy was surprised. "101 is open?" he asked. Simms nodded. "Has been for a while, good friend of ours". Percy nodded. "Thank you" he said, while leaving the town.

Outside Vault 101
The squad came to the Vault 101 entrance, and Percy activated his Pip-Boy, as sent out this message: "Command, command, this is Able Team, I repeat, this is Able Team. Operation Soaring Eagle has begun, It has begun. Send Bravo Team, get to Vault 101. The Eagle has returned..."

2 men, Sergeant John Simpson and Captain Percy Wolf entered the Vault 101 entrence, and the intercon came on. "Drop your weapons and step back" it said. They did so. The giant steel door of Vault 101 slid open, and 5 guards aimed weapons at them. An old, old man stepped foreward wearing a black cloak with the '101' logo all over it. He smiled at the boys. "Hello, my boys, I am the Overseer, and welcome to Vault 101". He coughed vishiously. "Might I ask your busines here?
s
^^Sorry

Percy stepped foreward and pulled a piece of paper out from his armor, it was a letter, from the President. It read:

Dear Vault 101 Overseer,
The Enclave is back, and this time for good. We are going to return and put down disorder and establish a true American Republic after my new Enclave ideals. We need a foothold, a place to base operations, we need Vault 101. We will not kill you, or raid your Vault, you see we are the United States Government, and we are here to help you finish your goal as Vault Dwellers. Your purpose is to help rebuild America, WE are America, so you must help us, it is in your Vault Manual. On a more personal note, I have terms to such a pact:
*Free to trade with anyone under Enclave approval
*Free to come and leave Vault 101, unless on active duty as guard or soldier.
*Free to vote Overseer
*Free protection by Enclave forces

*Enclave council established
*Must give 15 men between ages 17-25 to fight for the Enclave for 2 month tours
*Must allow Vault 101 to be used as a staging ground for assaults
