This Iran has only existed sine 1980... At least this incarnation of it. Also, the Earth will probably fall apart WAY after humans are either extinct or leave due to resource depletion.

Oh Limborg, can you check the bottom of the previous page for my application? Thanks.
And who are you, the proud lord said,
that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat,
that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red,
a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord,
as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall,
with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

Nation Name: Republic of the Union of Myanmar
Head of State: Thein Sein (USDP)
Head of Government Thein Sein (USDP)

Government Form: Unitary presidential constitutional republic
Ideology: Militarist
Foreign Policy: Generally isolationist but more active in Asian affairs, also slightly cold towards Western nations
Civil Freedoms /10: 3
Political Freedoms /10: 3
Economic Freedoms /10: 6

Military Size: 492,000 active personnel, 72,000 reserve personnel
Military Description: The military is well trained and has the best equipment that the country can afford, which is quite good owing to the fact that expenditure on the military takes up roughly 23.6% of the nation's budget.
Organizations: None as of current

Description of Your Nation's Economy: The Burmese economy has a GDP of $82.72 billion, which grows by 6.5%. 70% of those with employment work in agriculture, followed by 23% in services and finally 7% in industry. The nation also sits at 37% unemployment, a fairly high number that greatly affects the purchasing power available in the country.
Description of Your Nation's Government: The government is dominated by the military which possesses a large influence over it despite the fact that they gave up direct power in 2011. The government, as stringed on by the military, is highly authoritarian in most regards however and allegations have it that elections are generally rigged.
Small History of your nation till June 2014: Since gaining independence from the United Kingdom in 1948, Burma/Myanmar has been led by a string of military juntas that have held tight control over the nation's affairs. However, since 2011 they have relaxed their control slightly, but there is still much concern and many want them to leave the political scene forever.
Goals for the Nation: Bringing about an end to the political crisis that has gripped the nation for decades.
Why'd you choose this nation? Burma/Myanmar greatly interests me and I feel I would enjoy playing as it.

Just a note, currently Myanmar is in the middle of a bloody civil war, Indian peacekeepers control various areas in the north and west, a huge democratic movement is arising and the military is fighting it off pretty effectively.

Take advantage on weakening influence on India and become a superpower.

Also, finish the Burmese War and partition it.

Keznov, if you want a local troops who has perhaps greatest interest in keeping Burma independent of India, feel free to send a message calling for Nepalese peacekeepers. Then about thirty thousand men can be pretend to do their job while you feed them and do what you want and we can get international support for Indian withdrawal since then we will have a legally sanctioned peacekeeping force.

Except, the way things are going, GA011A will pass and the mission will have the diplomatic support of the UN.

Of General Council; which has no mandate in issuing legal sanction for peacekeeping operation. You need Security Council to do that and even if you get that, Nepalese peacekeepers who outnumber Indian deployment will obviously hinder your attempts.

I know, but Iran exists for a damn long time. Even in the days that it was called Persia the people already called it Iran.

Around 3/40k at present, Nepal has no other commitments and if Burma agrees to feed the soldiers while they are there... How much does India have?

Oh, I guess we wont outnumber you then; not really justifiable. But remember, your job will be to overthrow the current reining government while Nepalese deployment merely need to maintain status quo with local support. Second is a easier job.

What harder job? All of us share the same job: preserving Burmese lives and bringing peace to region. :p

Close but technically inaccurate. In 1923 The British government signed an agreement with the Zionists guaranteeing them a Jewish homeland in Mandatory Palestine.

And thus future provocation of the Islamic leaders there giving them an excuse to put their forces into oil rich lands.

I'm all for peacekeeping in Myanmar but I'd really like the guy who made resolution GA011A to edit out that last section and add the ASEAN as part of the peacekeeping force.

Jews and Palestinians each had their own countries in 1948. It's just that Palestine wanted more, so they invaded Israel together with other Arabs and got their ass kicked.
