Previously in Gama
In January of 2050, a new virus began to spread. It started out with a few individuals experiencing strange symptoms in China, India, The United States, Russia, Australia, Nigeria, The United Kingdom, and Mexico. Nobody knew how these individuals got this virus, nor did doctors know what to do about it. After a few days of feeling the effects of the virus, all the people felt perfectly fine. Because of this, most of them were released from the hospital. Bad idea. The next day, people in all of the above countries reported getting bitten by the same people who were said to be sick with the new virus. In a few hours, the people who had been bitten became zombified and began attacking people as well. The virus is now quickly spreading to other countries.

This virus has recently been discovered to be the doing of a rogue group of religious extremists calling themselves Proteus. Not only were they infecting the world’s population they were also organizing military forces capable of combating the survivors. The U.N. decided to put its recently created peacekeeping organization Gama in charge of both combatting Proteus forces and containing the outbreak with its innovative VALK mechs.

The stage was set for the battle over the future of the remainder of the world. Gama slugged it out with Proteus, the enablers who sought to propitiate their religion through means of the infection, utilizing it as a way of converting those they viewed as heretics and non-believers into the 'ascended followers' that were the infected. Blood was spilt on both sides. Gama's Valkyries took the fight to the Proteus forces a number of different times. From Samoa, to Warsaw, to Singapore, to Cape Town, to Seattle. They battled and clashed at every turn, but in the end it was Gama that was dealt the fatal strike. With their number of bases dwindling due to their ousting from New Mexico, they now find themselves in Ramstein. Battered, beaten, humiliated, wounded, defeated, and above all exiled. The question they face is will they be able to hold off and recover or not?

Rammstein Gama Base

A duo walked along a sidewalk at the base, two VALKS in a nearby hanger, the Sun entering a slow decline into the luminous twilight. Solemn. Even as the base was filled with activity there seemed to be utter silent permeating from the duo as they walked. One girl, one boy. Valkyries both.

"We're home." said the fair girl.

"Indeed. Home." came the emotionless voice of the youth next other.

years earlier

"HEY! Con-CON!" said an emphatic young girl with dark hair as she trudged down a road with other school children. A young boy swiveled his head from looking straight, to a slight right. Leaving behind a group of friends that where pointing and sniggering at the young boy. Making fun of his facial expression, or lack there of.

"Hmmm." his voice straight and monotone, yet tinged with delight on having his nickname heard.

"Hey! why you just leave and walk ahead!" came the girls retort, planting her small frame feet width apart. Her hands in two dark blue mittens, placed upon her small hips.

"I told you before, I hate those jerks." replied the young boy. Indicating with his head the gaggle of kids the girl had been a part of.

"But but?" stammered the girl.

"But what!" came the boys voice as the kids, gaggling and horse playing moved on.

"But...we're friends right?" Her lips quivered, once then twice. A tear ran down her rosy cheeks and landed on the soft snow. Burrowing a miniscule hole to the Earth.

"I...Of course. Always." said the boy as he reached out and the girl sank into his arms.

A rumble was heard in the distance, gunshots on the horizon. The boy, cold as ice, momentarily thawed by the girl and her wish to be his companion.

Rammstein Gamma Base

Rei's eyes fluttered open to the pitch black cockpit of her machine, she felt the well known pressure of a laptop resting on her quilt covered lap and she stretched back into the car seat in substitute for a real cockpit chair with a yawn then she unbuckled her seat belt before hearing a clank of the metal guards that secured it. She looked to the lower left of the cockpit to see some unnatural light leaking through v.i.a. a bullet hole that was earned by the previous owner of the part and some chatter was heard from the outside, probably the maintenance crews mocking how badly her creation looked on the exterior. Who could blame them? She wasn't given months, perhaps years to develop such a mechanical monster, she simply built it as she walked it along the battlefield and luckily avoided confrontation until meeting up with Gamma who treated her like a documented recruit.

Rei let out a sigh, recollecting what happened within the past week and muttered to herself "crazy..."

Germany
Rammstein Gama Base

When the loudspeaker crackled to life to tell everyone that they would soon arrive at the port of the Rammstein base, Dr. Jarnefeldt stopped her frantic keystrokes as she sat in Charlotte's Valk's storage bay analyzing the mech's abilities and systems. She had gotten more than enough information about the Valk over the couple days that they had been on the sub, and was getting to work combining it with data she had on Gilbert's recently destroyed Valk, the Guardian. She felt it was of top priority to have all the preproduction stages complete if Gilbert was to get back out into the field as quickly as possible. After meshing portions of each of them, she was confident that what she had was just shy of being complete.

Charlotte walked up next to Dr. Jarnefeldt and sat down beside her.

"You've been examining my Valk for quite a while Dr. Jarnefeldt. I figured you'd be done by now."

"I'm very close." She said as she saved what she had and closed the laptop. "However I'm done with my analysis so you can have your Valk back. Its down to tuning the final details before it can be made."

She stood up and headed toward the door of the Valk bay.

"Make sure you have your things ready." She called to Charlotte. "We'll be at our new home any minute."

When the sub reached the base, Gilbert loaded off with the rest of the foot soldiers. He felt a bit humiliated not being able to walk his Valk out like usual. He opted to help his mom with her crate of what she saved from the New Mexico base as it was unloaded. He wheeled it behind Dr. Jarnefeldt as they approached Alexandra as she oversaw the unloading.

"So where are we going to unload this?"

Dr. Jarnefeldt held a fist behind her back as if to say hush to him. As far as Gama was concerned what was in the crate was still unregistered and she might be able to get off with claiming it was what she saved of her own personal things.

"Indeed. So where exactly is our new quarters Commander?" She queried.

Alexandra had not had a good sleep since they got on the sub, and it showed. Her eyes weren't fully open, and she seemed lost in thought. She had lived practically all her life inside that base, and having it ripped from her hands obviously hurt. Only Gilbert and his mother's words snapped her out of her trance. "Hm? Oh, that. I-" She stopped when she heard footsteps approach her. "Captain Rork, I presume." A man's voice said. Alexandra looked over to see a tall, middle-aged man wearing a uniform similar to her's when she was on base. She stood and saluted, but it didn't look like she was in a hurry to do so.

"Yes, sir. Captain Rork reporting."

"At ease, Captain." The man said, returning the salute with an offside glance to the Jarnefeldts. "I trust you had a safe trip here?"

"As safe as we could be allowed."

"Excellent. I took the liberty of preparing the base ahead of time to accommodate your personnel. I'm sure you will find enough space and everything in order."

"Thank you, sir."

"Not a problem, Captain. It's the least we could do for you. As for those supplies you have there, I'll be happy to escort you to your new lab with them. If you would be so kind as to follow me."

The man, who was known as the base commander for the Western European detachment for Gama, led the pair off with a silent glance back to the Captain. She had a long time to think and brood, but it seemed she hadn't taken advantage of that opportunity until now. She leaned up against the wall with her weapons put on safe and her SMG hanging off her shoulder. She twirled her braided hair in her hand near her solemn face.

Allison had long since disembarked from the submarine dock. She didn't want to deal with moving in right now, and wanted to get rid of some stress. She hit up the base's firing range first thing. She didn't bother introducing herself to the armorer, and went about practicing her blindfolded shooting technique. She made sure to take most everything into account as she stood with her cloth wrapped around her eyes. This time, she was practicing with her rifle instead of her pistol. Her pack with her things lay on the ground against the wall of the shooting station, but she still wore her and her teammate's dog tags as she fired. She only paused to put up a new target or check her grouping thus far.

Rei heard the movement of giant machines moving off the submarine and she sighed as she pressed on a heavily camouflaged button on her laptop then lights leaked in through the flat screen television set. It revealed that the remaining VALKs were being unloaded and she shut the lid to her laptop before grabbing her playstation controller then eased the analog stick forward, making the giant mech ease out of the submarine with a puff of dark grey smoke emerging from one of the many proteus reactors mounted to the machine's back. She had spent the past few days modifying the operating system and designing new variations of the junkyard machine she created on the run.

She took a deep breath before starting to speak over the repaired coms frequency "So where will be storing our machines?" she asked and a small rattle was heard from underneath the microphone as the laptop bumped against the driver's seat.

Charlotte keyed the startup sequences for her Valk and the cockpit took on its usual gold glow as all of the systems read nominal. The door slowly slid open and she walked the valk out onto the dock. She overlooked all of the individuals frantically skittering to and fro in order to get everything unloaded as efficiently as possible. She heard the rookie pilot over the comms and was relieved that it didn't sound as garbled as it did back in New Mexico.

"I'd assume in the hangar, wherever that is around here." She said looking around for any sign. She looked down to see what looked like an air traffic controller looking up towards them. He methodically waved his arms as if to point them off toward the hangar. Charlotte carefully stepped over all of the commotion below her to follow the man's instruction.

"I guess that's our hint that its this way." She called back to the girl, as well as any other pilots that were in the process of booting up their Valks.

Dr. Jarnefeldt adjusted her glasses before stepping forward to follow the man. Gilbert followed suit pushing the crate along beside his mother. Since they had gotten to the sub and things had regained a sense of calm he finally had a chance to take in exactly what just happened. Proteus was out for blood now. They used to stick to trying to infect heavily populated areas, but now they were actively seeking out Gama. What had him truly upset though was that they were winning. Those pilots in Seattle were far from regular Proteus troops. They were strong enough to leave most of his team devastated. They were fortunate that no one actually died in the fight. Gilbert just got more pissed off at the thought of losing to that red, menace of a Valk, and he couldn't do anything but twiddle his thumbs while a new Valk was built. His thoughts were momentarily interrupted as his mother broke the silence.

"And might I ask for your name?" Dr. Jarnefeldt asked. It wasn't like her to go without knowing something if she could help it.

"Alright, I'm right behind you" Rei answered as she moved her machine's feet around the commotion under her as well and the sensors picked up the tiny man waving his arms about. She indicated him as a friendly unit with the press of the left button and smiled, seeing that she was in no immediate danger.

"I think I just fixed my problem" She giggled hearing that the signal was coming in almost clearly through what appeared to be a car's sound system jury rigged to a gamer's wireless headset and the best part of all:

Miranda had been bored as of late, she had been removed from her old squad and kept from going on missions. It was totally unfair, as she hasn't done anything to deserve it. But she recieved good news recently, she was assigned to a new squad, and they were supposed to arrive today. She has spent te whole day in her room, thinking about ways to introduce herself to her new squad mates. She figured she shouldn't really lie to them but she didn't want to creep them out either. So she decided not to say anything unless asked. Whiles he was thinking about this, another officer stationed at the base came in and told her that her new squad had arrived. She waved him away and got up, stretching. She figured if they had only just arrived, it would take them some time to get settled in, so why not head to the firing range and look badass? She grabbed her rifle and whistled on her way to the range. When she arrived, the armorer notified her that someone was already there. She grumbled quietly and made her way to the range anyway, looking for whoever this new person was. She new pretty much everyone at the base, so it didn't take her long to notice the blindfolded girl firing at targets. In the time the girl was checking her grouping, which in her opinion was really impressive considering she was blindfolded, she yelled out to her. "Hey, you! With the blindfold!"

Gregory Berevski was just getting out of his VALK when he heard a familiar voice behind him. "I see my little fox has developed the teeth of a wolf." Gregory turned around to see his old friend, Matthew Baronovski, standing down below him. Gregory quickly slide down the ladder to give his old friend a hug. Matthew had been both his VALK's designer and its crew chief since the beginning of his time in GAMA. It was he who had come up with the idea to base his VALK on Gregory's love of misdirection.
"I see you trashed my VALK again Berevski, you didn't bight off more then you could swallow did you?"
"worse, I ran into someone on the other side just like me, and he spotted me first. So what are you doing here, I thought you were still stuck over in Danzig?"
"I did such a good job with you, I got kidnapped to here to help take care of you again." Matt said jokingly. "So, same weapons as last time."
"No, the 30mm cannon and WP shells were next to useless. and the swords been damaged beyond repair."
"Ok, I'll see what I can do."

Three Days after the Battle of Portland

Silence, nothing existed here in this empty void, and though Joshua was aware he had been moved, he cared not, life was an empty void, and all the more, he was beginning to care for it, he was afraid, he didn't want to die. Not now, not while he still had to achieve greatness in the ranks of the Valkyries, to become an accomplished pilot, and remembering his promise to his father, he felt a fire begin to burn within him, anger, rage, and ripping forth from his sleep, he pushed through the cobwebs weighing him down, and through the silence, a distinctive beeping was sounding, a pulsing beating through the darkness that enshrouded his body, and letting his eyes open, light pierced the veil and slammed into his brain. The pain sent him moving his hand with vigor across his chest and up over his eyes and throwing his head off to a side, he caught a glimpse of a hulking figure now getting up from a chair next to the gurney Joshua was upon.

"Boy, you ever do anything like that again, and I'll skin and tan your hide and mail it back home as a means of making sure something of yours gets out of trouble in one piece." The crew chief stood, smiling, clamping a hand down on the young man's shoulder and helping him to sit up in the gurney, holding up the relatively frail body of the body-suit clad Valkyrie as the other hand grabbed a few spare pillows from a nearby bed and tucking them into place behind Joshua's back. The movements weren't in anger as his tone would have suggested to most others, but rather of love, indeed he was a father to this boy, regardless of whether or not there was a blood relation. It was a strange sight, watching as the boy began to flex his limbs and muscles, and upon deciding he was strong enough after five minutes of stretching inside the bed, warming up the muscles, he swung the legs over the side and began to slip off of the edge.

"How long was I out chief, and where am I? This isn't the VALK Transporter, or at least no part I remember." The young man was beginning to strain now, his weight shifting fully onto his legs resulting in his appearance becoming even more ungainly as his knees began to wobble vigorously in an attempt to maintain stability. He looked up at the giant beside him, grabbing his shoulder and pulling himself all the way up off of the bed now, he began to tentatively walk around the small infirmary room, crew chief beside him helping to keep him balanced.

"Well, the doctors say you were conscious several times during the surgery, those little buggers in your blood kept metabolizing all the anesthetic while they patched you up, but when they finally got you stitched up, the bots stop metabolizing the anesthetic and set to work repairing what the doctors hadn't, you've been in a self-induced coma for about three days. As for where we are, apparently GAMA has now shifted into Europe, some place called Rammstein, you were the only casualty taken by the Valkyries in the battle for Portland by the way, you died three times while in surgery, at least twice while they were attempting to prep you, and your vitals had flat-lined shortly after we retrieved you from your pod." The chief stopped here and smiled broadly at the young man," Indeed, we took seven confirmed losses, all being the same person, talk about inflating your kill-to-death ratio there. As for the research team, I've yet to hear if anyone actually survived the initial assault."

Joshua smiled, the chief enjoyed trying to talk to him as though it was all a video game, partially out of a misconception that it would calm him, all it did though was just make the chief seem all the more clueless as to what Joshua really knew. Closing his eyes and breathing deeply he replied," I care not for how many times I 'died' chief, but what about King, did he make it out?"

The chief's smile promptly disappeared," No lad, sorry to disappoint, but whatever stunt you pulled back there wrecked the VALK beyond recovery, we had to destroy the hulk using the remote override commands, but only after you'd been recovered. We've already sent word back down under, they have a replacement VALK inbound and should be here within the next week, and this time it's fully kitted out, no more of this sniper nonsense, if Proteus has VALK's, we need VALK-Hunters, and the TITAN-80 was built specifically for that purpose. You're getting some non-standard additions and customizations though, considering that now we know the energy signatures of those VALK's while at rest. We were checking the logs from your capsule's black box after they got you stabilized, and sure enough, there was an energy surge not unlike the one King gave off in start-up. They also had heat sinks according to infrastructure design scans taken by the targeting system during the fight, meaning they have potential coolant weaknesses, or at least the VALK that jumped you did. In other words, we're giving you an energy overhaul, we need you to be able to outrun that VALK if you meet one like it again. From what we could tell, it's thermal signature began to spike when it was chasing you, even if it wasn't at full power."

Joshua frowned, he'd lost his most prized possession, King and though he successfully destroyed one of Proteus's other VALK's, the pilot had been confirmed as having ejected from the explosion and now he'd need to change his combat strategies. He wasn't a specialist with close-range fighting, or as some referred to it, "tanking", but he knew the concept, and knew that the TITAN 80 was built for that line of work, if the battle dealing with King hadn't already displayed that. Moving to rest, an orderly came in and began to change the sheets, so, waiting on a nearby seat in the ward, he noted that he technically still had yet to personally speak with the leaders of his unit. Turning to the chief, he spoke," Alright, I suppose I can wait for the replacement VALK, but until then, I need to figure out more about this unit, and what better place than to start with those running the show?"

?The chief shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot, weighing what Joshua had just said against protocol. Joshua was a Valkyrie, an extremely high-ranking specialist in any military force of the civilized world, but the Doctors were not military, they weren't even listed by technicality. They were ghosts to him, and this worried expression translated into verbal communication with his response," I'm not certain what you want me to do, I don't have the proper authorization to even think about talking to them, and even then they-"

"It doesn't matter, let them know I wish to speak with them about something, about a potential leak, they're the only ones i think we can trust, and if my suspicions are correct, or even slightly based in truth, then they might be the only ones I can trust," Joshua paused here after having interrupted the chief so quickly," besides you of course."

The last words made the chief smile inwardly, but keeping his bearing on the situation, he (the chief) turned and strode out of the room to find the doctors.

The base commander escorted the pair through the base. It was different from the one in New Mexico, no doubt, but it still had that orderly feeling to it. There were rooms set aside and labeled with the North American Valkyrie detachment's names. Everything was nice and tidy. "I'm sorry you had to visit on such disastrous circumstances, but we are glad to help you nonetheless." He told the two. The walk to the new lab felt like an hour instead of five minutes. "Here we are. Some of our researchers and orderlies will be inside, but I think you'll find it private enough. Do not hesitate to ask questions." The man looked to Gilbert. "You look like you could use some R&R, young man. Why not try the pool in the fitness center? A good exercise helps clear the mind."

Allison stopped for a split second. Unless someone else was trying to shoot blindfolded just now, the voice must've been talking to her. She fired until the clip ran dry before putting the rifle downward and pushing the cloth up to uncover one of her eyes. She just stared intently at the tall redhead with the English accent. What did she want? She hoped it wasn't to be sociable, as Allison was far from wanting to take that route at the moment, or most any given moment here on for that matter.

Miranda approached the girl with a slight grin on her face. "Allow me to introduce myself quickly, as I see that you are probably really into your target practice. I am Miranda Huse, and I believe I have been assigned to your squad as of today." Miranda thrust her hand towards the new girl in front of her, wod wrong if she would shake and introduce herself as well. Or maybe she would just roll her eyes and pull the blindfold down with a 'whatever' and continue firing. Miranda certainly wouldnt appreciate that.

Anako zoomed pasted everyone else from the sub like a hedgehog and into the nearest bathroom, She had some how gotten sea sick and couldn't hold it back anymore. After that problem was solved she decided to take a walk around the new base. "Well, least theirs no sand or a sun so hot that it could melt right threw the 5 inches of snow that I get back in the motherland and most importantly.....no more vultures stealing my ice cream!" She said happily with a smile and kept walking before tripping over a rock and landing face first into the ground. She got back up and rubbed her face before walking into a tree. "Owie..." Anako had no wounds fortunately but now had to walk around with a red face for the rest of the day, her new life at Ramstein was starting off great.

Monfrox wrote:The base commander escorted the pair through the base.

"I'll pass sir. There's still quite a bit to take care of before we've been fully moved in." He said, suppressing his resentment and returning to his normal sociable self.

"Right well thank you for showing us here commander." Dr. Jarnefeldt said as she shook the man's hand. "If you'll excuse us there are some things that we need to unpack quickly. I trust that I'll have a private office inside."

She stepped past him into the lab. It wasn't quite as extravagant as New Mexico but spatially it was similar to what she was accustomed to. She walked through the lab with Gilbert following close behind. Half the lab seemed to stop what they were doing and had to double-take to make sure that they were really seeing her in front of them. She might not be that notorious to the rest of the world, but when it came to the world of science she was able to turn a few heads. She adjusted her glasses with a smirk on her face, taking pride in the fame she had.

As she started checking the offices she found one with her freshly printed name on the plate. She stepped inside and held the door for her son to push the cart in behind her. Once inside she locked the door and shut her office off from the outside.

"Can't expose the sensitive material to the outside now can we." She said with a playful grin. Gilbert just stood up with his hands on his hips. "I don't want any lip from you mister, most of this stuff is going towards my private tests anyways."

The two then got to work unloading the crate in the office and Dr. Jarnefeldt safely locking away everything to do with Gilbert and the other Valkyrie's records. Once they finished Gilbert felt it necessary to ask about his Valk.

"So are there any plans for a new Valk to replace the Guardian."

"The blueprint's actually nearly finished." Dr. Jarnefeldt replied. "I cross analyzed your old Valk with Charlotte's and meshed the best parts of each. I'll most likely get it to engineering tonight and from there its just a matter of how fast they can build. Just try to not wreck this one so easily. Momma can't keep making you new toys ALL of the time now can she?"

Allison stared at Miranda for a few seconds as the last shell casing clattered onto the floor. In one swift motion she whipped the rifle around and brought the barrel to bear on her face. She squeezed the trigger. 'Click' was the sound that resonated from the weapon as it dry-fired. Allison's stare had developed into a glare as she pressed the magazine release, causing the empty mag to drop onto the floor in between them and then quickly reloaded and pulled the bolt back, aiming it across her chest downrange. She proceeded to make shots at the target while still looking at Miranda. "What." Bang. "Do." Bang. "You." Bang. "Want." Bang.

"Do make wise use of your time, Doctor." The base commander said before walking off. The hangar staff were busy helping to show the Valkyries who still had VALKs to park them into the hangars on base.

Miranda was unimpressed and unintimidated by her squadmates pretend shooting at her. It was quite obvious she wasn't in the mood to talk. So Miranda figured she should keep it brief and leave. She really didn't feel like making enemies already. "I just felt like meeting my new squad. But it's quite obvious you do not want to talk. So I would kindly like to know where I can meet the rest of our squad." She waited for a few seconds before interrupting anything the girl would have said. "Nevermind. I will just walk around and find them myself. Carry on with your training, Ms. Leave-Me-Alone.." She rolled her eyes and walked away. Man, I hope no one else is like her.. Ugh.. What if the entire squad is like her?! Oh god that would suck so bad! She shook her head and continued wandering aimlessly.

It was almost upon the last breath of air of the doctor exhaled in speaking to her son, and between the last moments of the base commander's words as he left towards the hangars, that the Chief walked up and while he was easily one of the tallest men on the base with the most weight to boot and broad shoulders to rival a bear, he still snapped to and popped a fresh and crisp salute off of the brow as the commander walking, waiting as the officer moved past him to drop the salute, and then proceed around the corner to the threshold of the laboratory. Indeed, while to the educated mind it was nothing more than perhaps a student's workspace, it was impressive to the scientifically uninclined mind of the chief as he entered. Making sure to hunch over his shoulders and lessen his massive profile and span, he looked almost comically squished into the laboratory, in spite of the space he had around him.

His harsh and gravelly voice, much different from the soft fatherly tone he'd used with Joshua in the infirmary rumbled forth from his throat as he spoke," Doctor Jarnefeldt? Doctor Jarnefeldt, where are you? VALKyrie Cooper has awoken and needs to speak with you urgently!"

He paused here and looked around noting the good doctor herself wasn't present in the open area of the laboratories, so moving towards the offices he found the one labelled [Jarnefeldt], he paused and heard voices inside. Knocking firmly on the frame of the door, shaking it slightly with each blow of his ham-sized fists," Doctor Jarnefeldt, if you're in there, I need you to come out here. My charge, VALKyrie Cooper has awoken from his coma and needs to speak with you and your colleague immediately as he has information you might want to hear."

Moving to attention as best he could within the laboratory, he awaited the response from the learned minds within the small chamber he now besieged.

Both Gilbert and his mother jolted their heads toward the door by the powerful knock on the door. Dr. Jarnefeldt walked over, disengaged the lock and opened the door. She looked up a bit surprised at the large man before her.

"You actually caught us just as we finished unpacking." She started. She looked back to quickly address Gilbert. "As I said your Valk will be in to engineering by tonight, for now feel free to explore and get accustomed to what is now our new home." She turned back to the large man just outside her office. She stepped out the door and offered out a hand to the man. "You said Cooper has something to tell me? Dr. Jarnefeldt, Gama Research and Development. You must be DeCarnigan I presume."

While she made her introductions, Gilbert stepped past his mother and headed for the door of the science lab. He'd take her up on the offer to walk the base and see what he could find.

"Indeed," the giant Australian took hold of the woman's hand, revealing a deceptively gentle side to his rough exterior, and bowed, bringing his face close to the doctor's hand before straightening up again, narrowly missing the top of the door frame," indeed, I am DeCarnigan, Cooper's crew chief. It is a pleasure to meet you milady, but as you correctly heard, Cooper indeed needs to talk to you."

Stopping here, he looked at the young man who'd just brushed past him and was now leaving the laboratory," He's a strapping young lad, I hope you're proud of him, but needless to say," he stopped again, looking around and making sure no one was within earshot, he leaned in close and whispered," Cooper fears an intelligence leak within GAMA's forces is the cause of our most recent defeat, and needless to say, they also found and hit our base at just the same exact time as everyone else is getting bushwhacked in Portland? I too believe the boy, there are far too many coincidences just on the surface, but this best be spoken of within the infirmary for 'tis not be the best of places to speak of such things."

Turning around, making sure not to touch anything, he walked to the threshold of the lab and turned to look back, making sure the doctor was keeping up knowing that the stride of his steps alone outpaced most of his colleagues within such trivial distances as small rooms and even more so across larger spaces like the hangar.

Rei soon placed her machine next to a pair of parked VALKs and abruptly shut down the laptop that was currently helping her control the machine. The reactors belched a puff of black smoke as the two types of reactors cooled down, burning the rest of the fuel in one go before dying into a coma and waited till the next time the laptop was turned on with the connection. "Come on..." The girl complained as she placed down the play station controller and unbuckled her seat belt then wandered around in the pitch black cockpit of her machine to feel for the exit.

Her hand eventually met the exit hatch and she gave it a brisk turn then leaned on it. The door was supposed to open easily and even more easier if she had nano machines in her body but it just wouldn't open. Rei soon thought back to when she was on the submarine, having an engineer weld bullet holes closed while she made the inside of the machine more bearable by cleaning the cockpit, making updates to the operating system, and finishing one of her many designs for more VALK typed robots. Her thoughts stopped with a conclusion that the engineer might have accidentally sealed her in from the outside and that she would have to either cut herself out or scream for help.

"That's not good..." Rei finally said to herself as she scrambled for her father's oxyfuel cutter and scraped the spark generator a couple times before stopping herself realizing that she could set herself on fire more or less have herself suffocate in a sealed area.

"Can't do that" She soon added as she felt her way back to the hatch and started banging on it with her fists hoping for someone to hear that Rei needed help getting out.

"Can anyone help me?!" She called out through the metal and continued to knock loudly on the hatch.

Allison pulled the blindfold back down and centered her stance. "Anako, please take the Nugget to see the others she's aching so bad to meet. I've got some training to catch up on." She said before making shots. The girl was getting the same treatment the others had gotten before she saw that they might be able to stick around more. It was all part of the 'not getting attached' game she played as a defense mechanism for herself. She had learned that from her past experience. The photo album she nabbed from her room, which was currently stowed away in her pack that lay on the ground next to her, proved that much.

Dr. Jarnefeldt grabbed her small hand tablet before leaving and locking the door behind her. She hastened her steps to catch up with the large steps that Mr. DeCarnigan was taking.

"I've got to say that I can agree with Joshua's proposal." She said with a hushed tone. "That was too much information for Proteus to have just assumed. Its not just that they seemed to know our exact deployments, but they also had managed to create a team to directly counter the Valkyries. Something like that isn't done by guessing."

She flicked on the tablet and brought up the schematic for Gilbert's new Valk. It was so close, everything was there exept for the left arm. The arm itself was there, it just lacked anything in terms of weaponry. She tapped at the screen in contemplation as she continued to follow DeCarnigan to the infirmary.

Qeno wrote:"Can anyone help me?!" She called out through the metal and continued to knock loudly on the hatch.

Charlotte stepped down from the ladder of her Valk and heard a faint call from the twisted amalgamation. She looked over and by the look of the thing she could tell exactly what had happened. However from what she could tell there wasn't really something as easy as a retracting ladder like the others.

"Figures." She complained rolling her eyes. She squatted into a ready pose like a runner waiting for the starting gun. She took a deep breath and got a running start before springing off of the Valk's foot and quickly scaling the machine. She reached the door to the cockpit, or what she assumed was the door, and grabbed a hold of the door handle. She yanked the door in an attempt to get it open but it didn't initially look like it was going to budge.

"Rrrgh, come on! OPEN UP MOTHERF-!" She screamed throwing every bit of her strength into it. The nanomachines in her blood quickly responded by releasing a surge of adrenaline through her muscles. With the augmented strength the door snapped open with an echoing crack. "-fucker. I know you seem like you're attached to this thing, but I think its time to dump this son of a bitch like a bad habit."
