He has to craft an entire song, and entire idea through sounds that appeal to the ear. This involves crafting a beat, melody, harmony, lyrics, key signatures, time signatures, rythms and MORE.

The fact that it only takes a few months is more than good enough for a musician.

All that an author has to do is create a theme, create a plot to work with that theme, then craft characters than can change alonside the plot and make the story interesting.

It takes a LOT more work to be a fully-fledged musician than an author.

If you can't supply the ability to create an interesting story (original, mind you) and characters that actually seem real (no Gary Stus/Mary Stus) AND do it while delivering it in a actually decent style of writing, then you can't pull it off. Not to mention that you have to actually update the stories consistently or people can get mad...

So no, if you can't do that, even at a lower level, you can count on your story being a failure, locked away in the never-ending, constantly-expanding vaults of fanfiction garbage.

This is actually the standards that you have to hold up to in order to be even remotly succesful with fanfiction. (I am NOT exaggerating)

Yeah, I said the same thing about arting when I first started last year :\ turns out, I lied. As for that plan sure, go for it, just make sure your specify it as a brass coloured bruiser, they're generally weaker than the rest.
