I used to want kids. I was going to have a daughter, name her after the most powerful ancient queen I could think of, dress her in lolita, send her to a Waldorf school, and teach her all sorts of New Age spells, beliefs, and behaviors, alllllllllllll by myself without a partner because who needs them.

Then I had to actually help take care of real kids, and I realized, wow, being responsible for the well-being of another human being really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really freaking sucks. Screw that. I will gladly become a crazy old cat lady. Give them food, change their litter box, and beyond that, they practically take care of themselves.

I don't think so. I don't take much joy out of being consistently responsible for some vital need of another person, whether that be physiological or emotional. I function well on my own, and having someone's everlasting presence screaming, "Take care of meeeeeeeee!" in some form comes across as frustrating and invasive. Good for others, not for me.

Yeah. That looks like the plan for me. I don't mind much. I hope I can bring joy to some kids. But I'm still hopeful. Medical science is advancing wonderfully. I just hope that society gets rid of its transphobia and starts giving a fuck about our problems. But it seems to be an Idealists dream from my observations.
