Well, I would assert is is viable the Ambush succeeds: after all, the Russian Resistance's move into Perm this quickly had to have been a fairly disorgnized affair, so the Germans could have snuck in with them. However, after the shooting started, I would think the groups in question would have been easy to pin down and kill. In all likelyhood, some damage was done to the city, and a few notable Russian Resistance personalities killed, but the leadership would be able to extradite itself mostly intact. From a distance, in the spur of the moment and chaos, it would be hard to tell the diffrences between who the Germans claimed they were and who they actually were.

However, once its done and corpses were investigated, I'm fairly certain something is going to look fishy; the guns are only going to look worn, not actually very worn, and there will be far too many with too large a supply base to be an Internationle group pulled together so quickly. That, and the fact that ethnically they're Germans will leave, once this is all said and done, proof that Germany was behind this. Can everybody agree on that?

They killed two of the five lesser commanders that Umanov brought. Remember, I left my other main leaders back with the other forces outside the city? (Casualties: 65 Brandenburgers, 82 partisans, 3 Germans)
Also, it won't take much examination for the more experienced partisans to identify the attackers. Remember, some of them have been fighting the Germans for more than a decade.

If they don't pump a bullet into their heads, all odds are any they capture will be liberated when the partisans converge on them. Any leaders you do have will have to be killed if you want anything to change.

(Honestly the Germans lost more than they gained from that. All they achieved is killing a tiny portion of the hordes of partisans, and making Umanov feel that the only surrender he can accept from the invaders is unconditional surrender)

The Germans and the partisans were negotiating, the Germans tried to kill the partisan leaders, they got 2 majors and 80 partisans but lost 65 doing so without making any meaningful deaths.

(I currently have only armed and sent out 1/5 of all of those that I have in Siberia. All I need is some foreign aid in the form of weapons, ammunition, and hopefully anti-tank weapons.)
