Real World RP 2014(Open, MT, IC and OOC)

Postby Armeia » Thu Feb 27, 2014 5:24 pm

OOC: I return to NS to find all the real world RPs gone. I decided to make one. Basically you claim a real world country and then replace their leader with your own created leader and have them interact with others and control them like your NS country. I'll start by picking Canada, since I can do a lot with that country.

Country List:
Canada - Armeia
US - Oil Exporting People
Russia - Folgers
Brazil - Tyrannia
Cuba - Terrarum
India - Mahaan
Ireland - Barylandia

President Hector Martinez, 45th President of the United States of America

Image

Character Name: Hector Martinez
Party Affiliation: Republican
Age: 52
Gender: Male
Ethnic Origin: Hispanic
Religious Affiliation: Southern Baptist
Job History: US Marine Corps (1980-1992), Senator from Texas (1994-2012)
Greatest Accomplishment: Immigration Reform Act of 2013
History: Hector Martinez is one of the great success stories of America, rising from abject poverty to his current position as President of the United States of America. Born as the son of two Mexican migrant farmer workers, Hector’s upbringing was not ideal. His family’s lack of money and the need to help his parents in the fields meant Hector severely impacted his education. Refusing to accept it laying down, Hector self-educated himself to the best of ability.

When it became clear his parents could not afford to send him to college, Hector joined the Marines in 1980. Hector quickly came to love the Corps, and served in it for the next 12 years of his life, seeing action in Grenada and Desert Storm. Ultimately he retired as a Captain, and returned to Texas to start the next phase of his life. Initially, he started to attend College in the hopes of eventually becoming a Business owner, Hector began to take in interest in politics during the course of the 1992 election. This interest would ultimately lead Hector to where he is today.

Hector’s upbringing had instilled in him a strong sense of hard work, which was only furthered hardwired in by his time in the Marines. Besides a strong work ethic, Hector’s parents had also raised him to be a strongly religious person and this too had carried into his adult life. Service in the final phase of Cold War had also gave Hector a strong distaste for leftism as well. All of these opinions were further solidified by living in the solid Republican state of Texas, and thus it should be no wonder as to why Hector ultimately became a dedicated Republican.

Hector determination, solid conservative ideals, his war veteran status, and finally his ability to attract Latinos quickly allowed him to advance within the Texas GOP. He quickly gained notoriety around his state, and he soon found himself running for Senator. His solid credentials and natural charisma lead him to conduct a firestorm campaign. He ultimately won this race handily, heading to Washington D.C. as a freshman Senator. Hector would ultimately stay there until his successful bid for the Presidency, becoming the “Hispanic face of Reagan-Republicanism”.

In 2012, Martinez ran for President against then incumbent, Barack Obama. Hector’s solid conservative record was able to appeal to the GOP’s base, but he was also able to successfully branch out to independents. Hector’s campaign was also highly successful in targeting the Hispanic vote, with his campaign imitating the “Viva Bush” strategy from 2004. Hector, however, amplified it by giving entire speeches to Latino audiences in his own fluent Spanish and was able to gain the trust and admiration of his ethnic community. In the end, Hector was also helped by an October surprise in the form of revelations about IRS targeting of Republican/Tea Party groups. On election day in November, Martinez and his running mate of Meg Whitman won a crushing victory over the Obama/Biden ticket. The Martinez/Whitman ticket won the popular vote by four million (Including a very impressive 54% of the Latino vote for a Republican), and the electoral college 296 to 242. Since assuming office, Martinez has put both his ideals and experience to work.

So far, Martinez’s most impressive achievement has been the passage of the the Immigration Reform Act of 2013, which was a “modernized” version of what former President George W. Bush had attempted to get through in his second term. Hector also revealed the full extent of the problems with former President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, making immense reforms to it after completely revoking it proved economically unsound. As well, Hector launched investigations into the IRS that resulted in the firing of several employees for their roles in the IRS targeting of Conservatives.

As of now, Hector’s approval rating stands at a highly respectable 68%. With the 2014 midterms coming up, he has begun lobbying hard for his party with he himself focusing particularly hard in getting Hispanics at to vote this November. Hector’s current game plan for the remainder of this term is to reform education and social security next, as well as get a Federal ban on Abortions (Except in cases of threat to the Mother’s life) in the Second and Third Trimester. In terms of foreign policy, Hector plans to finalize the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and forming closer relations with Russia as a counter to China. Following new information about Human Rights abuses in North Korea and Cuba, Hector is becoming increasingly vocal about new sanctions on them. Iran’s continued nuclear ambitions are also an increasingly worrying issue in the Martinez Administration as well.

Only time will tell what happens next.....

Hugo Viktor Guevara, First Elected Chairman of The New Democracy of Cuba

Image

Party Affiliation: The People's Liberation Socialist Party and Army
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Cuban
Religious Affiliation: Atheist
Job History: Political Activist
Greatest Accomplishment: Knocking the Stalinist government of Cuba out of power and turning Cuba into a representative democracy.
Short History: H. V. Guevara lived in abject poverty throughout his whole life. His parents were deemed "enemies of State" and were executed by Castro's Stalinist government. Guevara was then put into an orphanage in Havana. He was fifteen years old when this occurred. In nearly every aspect of his life, he saw oppression and inequality. All the people he knew; his friends and family; were living in poverty and misery. It seemed so odd to him how the Communist Party of Cuba said that they were a a party of the people, but in reality, treated everyone horribly aside for inner party members. He kept these thoughts of dissent to himself and went on with his life. Guevara was successful in high school and attended the University of Havana (1997). It was 2002 when he graduated and the condition of Cuba was only worse. The US had heavy sanctions, and this only furthered the advance of poverty in his homeland. Therefore, Guevara began to organize with past fellow students and neighbors and friends. All of them shared the same value in socialism, but not one party states. This group of activists craved for democracy and liberation, and true socialism.

H. V. Guevara named this collection of people the People's Socialist Liberation Party and Army. They began to commit acts of sabotage in 2009, but never hurt a human soul. As the popularity of this group grew, the Castro and his elite government began to lose hold of Cuba. Several towns fell to the control of the PSLP and the government issued a crackdown on the group. Later that year, massive protests ensued, in reaction to the crackdown, and the PLSP grew stronger as the Cuban government grew weaker and angrier. However, during the years of 2010-2012, all hope seemed lost. The Cuban government was as strict and violent as it could be. H. V. Guevara had been in hiding during these three years, but was secretly spreading the ideals of the PLSP. Then, suddenly, in 2013 a PLSP-backed national strike took place. All the state industries shut down and the Cuban government grew ever angrier. Violent riots began in Havana and strikes and protests were maintained in other regions of the country. Surprisingly, Havana fell to the PSLP and H. V. Guevara set up a provisional government. He ordered the Cuban Communist military to disband, dismissed all government officials (including Castro), and publicly burned the Communist Constitution. The people were rejoicing. After two months in power, Guevara stepped down from his executive position and administered a public vote on who should lead the country and form a new constitution and government. Four Cuban's ran; one from the CCP, one from a small Capitalist party, one from a small moderate party and, of course, H. V. Guevara. Guevara received 79% of the popular vote.

H. V. Guevara created a socialist democratic government. It followed the guidelines of a constitution which stated that a People's Assembly (including every citizen) would be the legislative body of Cuba. The Chairman (H. V. Guevara) would act as the executive branch of Cuba. Lastly their would be the Supreme Jury Courts, acting as the judiciary branch. The Chairman dealt with foreign matters and diplomacy, could veto bills or laws, and was commander of the military. The Supreme Jury Courts dealt with legal matters. The People's Assembly dealt with creating laws (although most things were covered in the constitution), declaring war and peace, and would be organized into various unions, sub-assemblies, and etc. to assign people jobs, to create the budget, to decide where things should be built and etc. The Constitution gave everyone the right to food, water, healthcare, education, shelter, speech, religion, affiliation, thought, marriage, love and liberty. This document could never be edited or changed. It also banned private industry and forced all organizations to be worker ran and democratically controlled.

2014 -- Havana, Cuba

Image

To: President Hector Martinez, of The United States of America
From: Chairman H. V. Guevara, of The New Democracy of Cuba

Greetings:

I am aware that many countries in the world, including yours, were worried about human rights violations going on in Cuba. But rejoice Comrade! The People's Socialist Liberation Party and Army have ousted the Stalinist Dictator, Castro and his oppressive regime. I have been elected Chairman of the nation, in which I have set up a new and democratic government with a new constitution, ensuring that everyone is equal and retains inherent and inalienable rights as human beings. Hoping to to restore relations between the US and my country, Cuba, I suggest that we hold a meeting in a neutral country, such as Canada. I crave the day when all nations can live in unity! Long live freedom, brother!

Comradely,
H. V. Guevara, Chairman of The New Democracy of Cuba
