I doubt rebellions would subside when you have a regime. Even at the height of its power Nazi Germany had insurgencies and protests.

Also, we are in 1907, so Aluminium and Oil are not even close to their value, Assyria is a resource-deprived desert that requires foreign trade just to function, and unless you are literally getting italian handouts there's no way your economy wouldn't be collapsing upon itself.

As for Riyadh, it may be a tribe, yes, but it's a tribe with quite some influence in the muslim world, so frankly if you went for them all the groups in Arabia and muslim-cacus would likely start a jihadist war on Assyria, plus it would really piss off the Emperor.

Now if you even got close to Mecca... now that is a death sentence.

*cough cough*
Mespotamia
Also a decent sprinkling of resources by the shore.

@Inesea, I foresee problems. The Iberians have allies who I'm sure would watch their back for a few secs while they chase your navy into the Gulf, and then they could just maintain a fleet there and blockade you in perpetuity.

So I still have Caribbean colonies.

Let's just say that they are being organized as a naval base.

Iberian-Chicago war? Now that's interesting.
*Huzzah he lives!*

Nah, son. Britain was all like "yo, why my colonies be all uppity an' shit?!" And Lord Durham laid it straight: "they be wantin' legislation with representation, dawg."

Sigh. On one hand, if it's stacked, it could be a sign of good relations between Chicago and CSA which is always nice. Also, territory to gain. But on the other hand, relations have dramatically improved since the short-if-even-existent CSA-Iberian war. Though on the other hand, I have to see where he stands on the whole Colombian issue as well as I have to know Britain's and Mexico's stances. I don't expect me to really get involved now that I got all his Caribbean territory from the 1880's.

The Natives in the Union don't like you. The Huron-Chicagoans don't give a shit/ like you. With three houses and five semi autonomous states, there are many viewpoints. Conversely, that's a smal colony in Africa. Imagine how much larger it can get.....

I doubt you could win against Gabon in terms of expanding your colony, though I see your point. Why don't the natives like me? Because my people are white? Just like half their nation? Or because I hold slaves, like they used to?

I was referring to your colony actually. At least I think it's small.

As for the natives, it's the idea, even if it's gone today, of a birth class society. IE to most of my First Nations, you are all born relatively equal, and how you act determines your status. Loose a war, become a slave. Work hard as a slave, join owners tribe as an adopted member after X years of service. To them, the idea of your class system is bad. Of course, by now it largely a wrong belief, but it's their belief nonetheless.

I see. Well then. I'm kind of just waiting for the slavery education program to wrap up in 1907....

And my colony along the coast? Yeah, it's small, but the Miami Conference was made to fix that. Gabon is a much better colony than Maurtania could ever be. It has so many resources and is, IRL now, one of the richest countries in Africa. Liberville's GDP per capita is set to be $40k by 2038.
