Lesbianism in particular was no considered as bad, mostly because the common belief back then was that a phallus was needed for intercourse. Due to this, and the absence of one on women, their relations weren't considered very breaching of God's law unless an object was used in place of a phallus.

There's no real reason why the Muslims would be assisting. Morocco isn't really favoring anybody, and the Ottomans would be going against their title as the Caliph if they were to help Catholics.

Byzantium controls the Orthodoxy, but it is not guaranteed that other Orthodox states will help.
