Despite communism's dominance over the majority of the world, a new threat could destroy it. The Oromia Virus. A virus that can unleash the living dead upon the world. Will the nations of the world put aside their ideological differences and work towards ending this plague? Or, will the Soviet world order be consumed by the undead!

t’s 2019, and Earth is as dynamic as it always is. Political tensions soar between the West and Iran, war rages in Yemen and Syria, China’s growing dominance on the world stage is of concern to the free world, along with Hong Kongers who have taken to the streets to protest. Many African countries have soaring economies, and are developing faster than ever, while others still are gripped with political tension and crippling poverty. North Korea’s nuclear missile program threatens the safety and security of Asia, along with India repealing article 370, causing soaring tensions with Pakistan. Fires rage in the Amazon, as Brexit brings uncertainty to the EU. The US has accused Russia of meddling in their last election, which has caused large tension both within the US and around the world. The fate of the Earth, and its future is in the hands of all its nations, one of which you will take control of. If not a country, a faction within the country, a dissident separatist group or a movement for regional autonomy.

Description

It was a dark and stormy night, as all things terrible and great are wont to begin on. You were home, or out enjoying the night with some friends, or perhaps just enjoying some cool air. Regardless of what you were doing, you were in the little town of Ribe, Maine when it happened. Ribe is a small village, about two hours south east of the closest thing to "major" civilization in Bangor. That night in Ribe, something occured, something mystical, perhaps even magical. It flowed through the town, selecting individuals. The only commonality between these select few was that they all were between 15 and 20 years old. You were one of these lucky few. You woke up the next morning, unaware of what happened. Who knows how you discovered it. Perhaps you were on your laptop and flexed your fingers the wrong way, causing a shock that shorted the device. Maybe you were taking a morning swim, and by pure chance found that you could now breathe under the water. Or perhaps a strong desire not to be noticed allowed you to quite literally dissappeare from view. You now had a power far beyond what would be considered normal for a human to do, and things were only going to get weirder from there.

Welcome to Once Upon a Summer, the story of a couple of plucky, or maybe not so plucky, teenagers who find themselves possessing what can only be described as super powers. While these abilities are weak and can only really be used as party tricks at the moment, but none the less they defy reality. Players will RP the teens as they explore their powers, explore the origins of both the town and their new condition, and maybe stumble onto something more in the process. This will be a primarily story based RP, although there are a few mechanics below, mostly relating to the powers. This RP is mostly inspired by series such as Gone, X-Men, and Infamous.

Description
Elementals 3 is set in the world of Gaiaca, specifically the largest continent Galllia, in an era reminiscent of Great Britain's mid-19th century, albeit with stunted firearms more akin to the muskets of the mid-17th. The titular Elementals are a superhuman race with magical powers from one of eight gods to start with, controlling fire, water, earth, wind, ice, lightning, nature, or metal, and were created to protect mankind from the hellspawn and themselves. The characters of this story are an assorted band of travellers going from the United Galllian Federation to the Commonwealth of the North, which split from the U.G.F through a short but brutal 2-year civil war, which ended a little under a year ago. Technically their only current goal seems to be accompanying a foreign noblewoman on a diplomatic mission to the Commonwealth, but fate will lead them into conflict with various evil forces, and place them on the front-lines of history.

Description
It is the 2020's and the world is reeling from a series of extreme criminal and terrorist activities across the globe. In the Western world, a coalition of nations has established a clandestine policing and special operations military force called SIGMA, or the Special Interests Ground Missions Activity. They operate outside the law in most places around the world and were originally an unknown entity within the military special operations forces of the world until a series of devastating attacks in 2025 forced the unit into the spotlight. With notable media attention on the elusive unit and what little footage had been captured of them in action, it was discovered that they were utilizing an advanced series of experimental exo-suits called AMOS (Advanced Mobility Operations System). Using these suits, they move faster, hit harder, and withstand more punishment than the average soldier ever could hope to.

Players will take on the role of newly inducted pilots being brought into the organization after its supposed shutting down by the United States Department of Defense, being flown to an undisclosed location to operate from and conduct highly complex, classified, and dangerous missions around the world. Matured players are expected, experienced players are not required, but greatly desired for the RP as it will likely force active cooperation between players. Gameplay mechanics introduced into the RP will not be present to keep players from actively participating, but rather by forcing them to strategically and tactically consider choices that can be made throughout the course of a mission. I want to see active collaboration and discussion between players, if not the occasional debate on what I'm actually plotting to throw at them. The game map uses the real world and real-world terrain and imagery. Using provided materials will always give an advantage to the players even if it is only marginal in the end.

verything changed after MegaCorp arose in early 2020. Almost seemingly out of nowhere, this company came and began top rival the largest companies on earth, and after a few years, surpassed them until they had either subsumed or driven most other competitors or driven them to being small and unimportant. What services or products do they offer? Everything. That wasn't a joke, there wasn't anything that they didn't sell. Simple goods like toilet tissue and water, to high end electronics, drugs that were more effective than any prescription despite being over the counter or even high end military hardware that included numerous things that weren't anywhere close to being profitable. This also included services that ranged from simple things like housekeeping to more complex things like personal trainers for nearly any skill.

The average person loved this convenience. Mega Corp's sheer variety and value easily attracted the attention of the average consumer, letting them become the world's first multi-trillion dollar corporation with little actual competition. As anyone would expect, this caused suspicions in several world government. They were getting drugs passed testing in record time, seemed to have everything that any other business could offer, at a lower price and at a much higher quality. Many people cast accusations of Mega Corp's quite literal monopoly on the world, but none could figure out how such a business came to fruition in such a short time. Legally, the only trouble they could find themselves in was becoming a monopoly, but with some strategically allocated funds, even that didn't slow their ascent.

How did Mega Corp ascend to such power and wealth in as little as a decade? Through a special little device known as a Reality Drive. Where this company acquired it remains unknown, as does knowledge of them actually possessing such a device. The device, when properly harnessed, allows the manipulation of reality. To an extent at least. The enigmatic owner of the company came into possession of the device, and with some special modifications, became one of, if not the most powerful man in the world. For a time, it seemed that Mega Corp would remain unchallenged, but as with any corporation of that size, there's bound to be people who realize the sheer amount of potential damage that could be caused, especially now that the company was starting to sell genetically engineered super soldiers.

A large section of MegaCorp broke off and became the Supreme Security PMC. Utilizing their altered soldiers to brute force their way into the security market. Offering their services to anyone with the money to pay. It didn’t take long for Supreme Security to become incredibly profitable. Both rebels against tyrannical governments and those same governments were willing to pay through the nose for those soldiers who could work for weeks before even needing the smallest amount of rest. They were always perfectly to who purchased them and in the five years they operated, there were no reported instances of a single Supreme Security soldier going rogue or otherwise betraying the organization.

However, not all was well between MegaCorp and it’s subsidiary. The leaders of Supreme Security had managed to acquire their own Reality Drive and thus felt that they had no more reason to rely on the parent company for supplies and managed to use their drive to supplement and acquire whatever they couldn’t acquire with their vast fortune. Matters only became worse when MegaCorp opted to try to forcibly reintegrate Supreme Security, but was stonewalled due to the vastly superior military leadership skills of their leaders. As a result, Supreme Security remained independent and it’s ranks began to swell with even more soldiers and technology.

So much so that most world governments had purchased weapons and soldiers from them to keep an edge. Supreme Security had solidified itself as a significant military force. For awhile despite MegaCorp trying, and failing, to reintegrate them, everything seemed to be fine. Supreme did not take it sitting down, deciding to send a good number of death squads against their parent company, resulting in the deaths of over thirty people and causing most world governments to reconsider their stance. Supreme reminded them that they were the ones with hundreds of billions of dollars worth of tech and manpower that they had and was more than willing to flex its metaphorical muscles.

The handful of countries that opted to phase out the use of Supreme’s soldiers found themselves in trouble. The soldiers, when confronted, turned their weapons on their “owners” and slaughtered hundreds. Now, with everyone is terrified of Supreme’s soldiers and too terrified to risk even more lives, Supreme remained in business with it’s unwilling customers.

However in 2041, with many more of the Reality Drives appearing around the world, Supreme’s future is now in question even with their attempts to collect every single drive they can...

Despite all the insanity surrounding these devices, the world has benefited greatly from their use. Technology has taken another leap and become even cheaper. The quality of life in just about every country has gone up. Medical technology is to the point where the only real problem is cancer, and even that isn’t quite the problem it used to be. Limbs can be replaced either with regrown ones or cybernetics. Even weapons have undergone improvement, though they still remain pretty much identical in concept, but handheld, energy weapons have begun to make their way into conventional warfare.

Even gene modification has been used, it’s exclusively by MegaCorp and Supreme Security. While the good ones are under their heavy security and allow them to grow superhumans by the score, they do sell simple ones to the general public. Mods to increase muscle gain and weight loss, or something as simple as changing eye, hair, skin color, and even height.

People with a Reality Drive will at first find themselves faster, stronger, and more adept at learning than the average human as well as being able to survive and fully recover from wounds that would kill a normal human, on top of other varied abilities. Flight, teleportation, barriers, manipulation of energy. However, the abilities granted by the Reality Drives are inherently non-combative. You might be able to absorb a certain form of matter or energy and create or amplify a weapon, but it's seemingly unable to do something as simple as shooting someone else with a bolt of lightning or fireball. The idea is to allow more freedom with powers that would normally be restricted as they can't be used to directly harm other people. And in the exceptionally rare case where a Drive does grant an offensive ability, the Drives seem to make their wielders immune to the direct effects of another's powers.

To make up for the lack of offensive powers, you'll instead be using weapons. Guns, swords, knives, explosives, and several other things that will remain secret for now. There will be progression of course, this is very loosely inspired by the shonen style of writing. New weapons, your powers will be upgraded, you'll get new ones and other things. Can't take down the most powerful entity on earth without adapting to the crap they're going to throw at you. The starting area for the RP is a decent sized city by the name of Springfield. It’s a landlocked city located in the midwest. It’s vague intentionally. The city has been targeted by Supreme Security for the sudden surge of Reality Drives.

As with all Personification Life (PL) franchises, SLATE is a mentoring RP. We teach players the basics of the game, helping them to learn how to not only create characters but also to breathe life into them. Experienced players are an asset to us but also find themselves challenged to improve their own skills (which serves as an example to the new peeps on how to make scenes flow, how to fashion paragraphs that establish a character in a scene, and how to weave a story.)

OVERARCHING CONCEPT

STORY PREMISE

Sixty years have passed since mankind learned it wasn't alone in the universe. Heavy negotiating allowed Earth's denizens to take to the stars. It's by no means a sleek venture.

Although translight technology is out there, it's ungodly expensive. Most people book passage on commercially-owned ships to reach colonies and outer worlds.

Mankind relies on its colonies - space stations where one can refuel, agriculture centers on planets or moons that provide food and meat to the sector, industrial mining for precious metals and ores.

One of the newer colonies is a small, ringed world named Slate. It's inhospitable, the wildlife tends to be violent, and the views aren't worth a damn.

What Slate does have is water and deusmodium. This naturally occurring semi-metal results from the decay of uranium and thorium. Its high radioactivity requires special handling techniques and precautions. And, as it so happens, this delightful halogen comes in handy when used to power ships.

Mined as the complex ore deusmodium bogonium asspullide sulfate, deusmodium is primarily used for translight drives, due to the unusual relativistic quantum mechanical effects in its outer f-u orbitals...First commercially exploited by the Bradypus Mining Conglomerate, deusmodium is now mainly exploited by artisanal panning operations, usually by single desperate individuals - Dr. S. Loth

Slate thrives due to this mining as well the farms and ranches dotting its surface. In addition, its shipping port is a homey sort of town offering just about anything necessary to function as a colony, within reason. All of this is protected by domes to keep the good stuff in and the predators out.

The premise is simple: characters are part of the Agency (yes, that Agency minus any interference from gods) hired to protect the colony. This is not a chat location thread. Casual conversation between characters is fine, provided it leads to something productive to the story.

PLOT

PL does have an over-arching plot that has slowly built over time. It's an undercurrent rather than an overt objective. Most players unknowingly contribute to it; some players are fully aware of it.

FREEDOM!

• PL allows you to play any genre that's near and dear to your heart (within reason). You breathe life into that genre, finding balance with other genres already in place.
  
• PL allows you to play whatever your imagination dreams up (other than godly beings so powerful that they serve little purpose except to masturbate the player's ego.)
  
• PL's longevity is due to the OP and CoOPs allowing people to be creative while helping them adapt that creativity to fit in with the world setting. We also have an active OOC where players can gel.

PLAYER INTEGRATION

New players are not expected to know anything about the setting. We start your character off as a new arrival to the setting and work you into the game. You gain knowledge over time and via interaction with other players. Our OOC is rife with conversation and all questions are welcomed there.

Witches are imbued with a single spark of divine (Deva) or demonic (Dark) essence, created in order to protect and maintain the balance between the natural and supernatural worlds...thus they are capable of wielding the Aether to perform awesome magical feats. The Esoterics takes place in a Chinese inspired setting (specifically the Ming Dynasty). The Emperor of the land has died under mysterious circumstances, but not before seeking to transition the country into a democracy. Various court nobles have been scheming to take control, and this is when the "esoteric" part of the roleplay comes in. Esoterics are wizards with special abilities: Either genetic or of their own creation. Since this RP is a political intrigue, powers relating to manipulation or seizing control are common. My main character, Jasmine, has an ability in which the RP is named after. She can brainwash people with a single sentence.

It is 1000 YEARS BEFORE THE BATTLE OF YAVIN. The NEW SITH EMPIRE has been defeated and the RUUSAN REFORMATION has come to pass- as the republic demilitarizes and the Galaxy begins to rebuild after a war that cost 2/3rds of the known galaxy's population many do not yet know- but this is the start of a golden age in the REPUBLIC. The ARMY OF LIGHT is to be disbanded, the JEDI are to become keepers of the peace and guardians of Justice- the emergence of the JEDI COUNCIL is at hand as the REPUBLIC reforms and the people rebuild.

Imagine being a king or queen. Or even an emperor or empress, most people have dreamt of it some time during their lives. The power, the prestige, the glamour. Everyone bowing down to you, worshiping you and attending to your every need. Being adored, most people would kill for such a lifestyle.
But most people don't see the dark side of rulership. It's not all being rich and glitz and glamour. It's also an enormous responsibility. Being responsible for an entire nation and their well-being, trying to balance governing thousands or even millions of people, making sure your people are okay, your kingdom does well, making alliances and maybe even waging war. It all falls on your shoulders. And if it's a hit or miss, the consequences fall onto you and your people. It's not just about you anymore, it's about your kingdom. Every decision you make is for that. You BECOME the state, you are barely your own person anymore. Running a kingdom is sacrifice. Oh, and that's NOT counting the threat of rebellion, fake friends and unscrupulous nobles either trying to take your throne for themselves, wanting to use you for your own ends, and the numerous plots and attempts at trying to kill you. Living in fear constantly for yourself and your family. A royal court is a lion's den, you have to survive or get eaten. There is no in-between. Now, imagine dealing with all of that at like sixteen years old.

It has been two years since the once grand Mitkir Empire that dominated much of the old world continent of Aislira collapsed under internal strife. Leaving its sole colony of Vlario alone on the distant Muur continent alone. Having to adjust to now being on its own in a hostile land now that the natives are taking advantage of the lack of imperial support to raid Vlario, it has become increasingly hazardous to venture outside of the colony without outside help from Aislira. Under the capable rule of the former imperial governor Lycaon Katsaros, Vlario had managed to stay stave off the natives and survive so far despite the increased raids made by the natives. Unfortunately for Vlario, crime has started to become a problem for Vlario, and the colony's security force is stretched thin as it is. So far, Vlario is stable despite its problems, but for how much longer is a guess. Unbeknownst to Vlario, something is stirring in the jungle. Something the natives fear, something long thought to be gone is returning to Muur and whether Vlario can survive it is up to fate.

Description
Colonists on a successful colony have over time found themselves alone, and trapped on a planet. Not in the sense of being unable to leave, but there are simply too many of them to evacuate. The planet is undergoing radical changes as the dead find their souls trapped, and a malevolent entity known as the ragged king is slowly consuming the planet into a cycle of depression, madness, and personal subjugation. The planets population will be completely dead within four years if the colony cannot find a way to defeat the ragged king. To do so they must use catalysts, humans who died, but came back imbued with special abilities that allow them to breach into the barrier world that the ragged king originates from (the gateway between life, and death).

They have to contend with the forces of the ragged king wreaking havoc on a decaying society as well as the children of the king, and those catalysts who have fallen to the side of the ragged king in hopes of outliving the impending doom facing the colony.
