Aria smiled. So this girl, who by the way looked really strong, or at least strong enough to hide behind if something went wrong, was up for an adventure. That was always good. However, she soon realized something. Though the intention was there, she really didn't know where to start looking for an adventure.

"Um... I don't know where to go to have an adventure, though." She said. "Do you?" She asked afterwards.

Lilian blanked. She had the adventuring spirit. Yet now that she was put on the spot, she couldn't think of anything.

"Ummmmm..." she said, "I have no idea." Then a light bulb appeared over her head (imagination). She faced the Elder.

"Good Elder," she said, slightly bowing, "Where are good places to go adventuring for two beginners like us?"

Elder: Hmm... well under the Old Well a colony of bats has moved in. If you can defeat a few of them the whole group will probably run away, it would be a good starting adventure and you would be doing the village a favor. Be careful though, bats are not very dangerous but they are hard to hit because they fly so fast... and they get all up in your grill and its really nerve wracking.

Aria listened to the elderly Elder's words as she stood in front of him with Lilian. So, there were bats under the Old Well? She had heard something about it. That seemed like such an annoyance. Bats were a pest, what with their flying around and scaring young blonde aspiring thief girls when they happen to walk near the Old Well.

But that was a week ago! She was stronger now! She had completed the combat tutorial!

"I'm up for that." She said, both to the elder and Lilian, before turning to the other girl. "What about you?"

When the sign appeared, Niall stared at it for nearly a minute. The village was very generously a hamlet at most, more likely just a rural area given a name for census purposes. For all that was said, a sudden realization came-upon Niall.

"I am in rural backwater." It took a minute to realize that this place was decidedly uneventful, the town constable probably also being the village judge, village jury, and village jailer, with his court being held in a general store.

It took a moment for the sheer ludicrously rural nature of the place to become acknowledged. Without recourse, Niall went to the Inn, hoping to find an individual sitting in a corner looking at his drink as an adventure hook.

The Inn is pretty empty at this time of day with the exception of yourself and a bored looking Innkeeper. There is a notice board in one corner of the room that is empty except for a single flyer announcing a birthday party for the miller on the east side of the village.

"Hmm, east side of the village is the only place to go." Niall exited the Inn after temporarily being frozen in place as the internet was scoured for a strategy guide without success. "Great, I am going to have to talk to everyone, aren't I?" Despite her immovable presence at the Inn, she had not used it. Without much of a clue, a path was made toward the East-side of the village.

Three down, one to go. Seems the job is very nearly done, which is a good thing because you fear that boredom may cause you to suffer a premature death. The last birdfeeder is waiting for you by the Miller's House.

The east side has been transformed into party central, the miller has thrown quite the birthday bash for a backwater demi-hamlet with music, food, and of course booze. The whole party takes place in a fenced off yard a single person seems to be acting as a bouncer standing by the fence gate.

Aria was a bit disoriented, she hadn't entirely gotten used to the whole 'wordd shifting around her' thing, but at least there was no swarm of bats waiting for them down here, and apparently, it wasn't dark enough that she couldn't see, so that was good. Aria decided to look around, to see where the bats were hiding or if there was any shiny treasure down here.

"So, um, anybody at the party giving you trouble?" Niall asked, without much idea of what was supposed to be done. Maybe one of the patrons had to be thrown into a dumpster. Then again, Niall was not exacactly of the most clear mind, so maybe he hoped that the bouncer was somehow evil or that the birthday party involved a kidnapped child of hers that she did not know she had that disappeared there and all of the attendents were obtrusive cultists; Niall was never quite clear on how reproduction worked due to a severe lack of interest or whether he would be recreating a good version of "The Wicker Man" or the comedy version.

A sense of bravery and adventure swept over Lilian. This was her first adventure, her first dungeon. IT was small, but it was important, to her at least. She unsheathed her sword and brought up her shield. She ran down the tunnel ways, looking for the bats. "Come at me foul monsters!" she screamed as she ran down the tunnel.

It doesn't take long to find the bats since they are all just kind of hanging out on the ceiling and doing... bat... stuff... all the running about and screaming aggravates them into flying about the cavern, and a few of the larger ones fly straight for the both of you - suddenly you find yourself being brought into what is becoming a familiar change of scenery but this time the floor is dotted with stalagmites and you are surrounded on all sides by stone walls.

You are now in combat with three bats!

A bat uses buffet on Aria! It flies right up to her face and hits her with its tiny ineffective wings! Scary!
Aria manages to resist getting scared.

It is now Aria and Lilian's turn!

Aria nearly ran away right then and right there when the bat flew up to her and smacked her. But, fortunately, she managed to restrain herself from doing that, and calmed down enough to remember what the Elder had taught her.

She then decided, just for the hell of it, to try to steal from the bats.

Lilian, assailed by the sudden group of bats, screamed in a high pitch tone. "AAAAHHHHH! Get away!" she yelped. In actuality, she was scared of bats... and spiders... and bugs... and a lot of things. Out of fear, she started flailing her sword about, trying to get the bats away. (She's trying to hit the large ones.)

The whole party takes place in a fenced off yard a single person seems to be acting as a bouncer standing by the fence gate. Your birdfeeder happens to be sitting right smack dab in the middle (but of course) surrounded by revelers, a keg, and a five piece band.

"I guess I'll have to see if that bouncer guy will let me in to fill the feeder." Arion said to themself as they walked towards the bouncer. "Hey, this old lady in the Square asked me to fill a bunch of bird feeders for her, and the last one is in that yard, and I was wondering if you could let me in to fill it, and I'll be right out when I'm done." They told said bouncer.

The bouncer shrugs at you.

Bouncer: Nice try kid but I'm not supposed to let anyone in without an invitation and besides kid; you're too young for this party. There's food and music and adult beverages being consumed in there.

Altruistic Paladins wrote:"So, um, anybody at the party giving you trouble?" Niall asked, without much idea of what was supposed to be done.

The bouncer nods to you.

Bouncer: Yeah, this kid here is trying to crash the party. They made up some lame excuse about a birdfeeder but they are too young and there are adult beverages being consumed in there.

He frowns.

Bouncer: Actually wait, maybe you both can do me a favor? All this being a bouncer business is boring and thirsty work and it would certainly be easier with an adult beverage or two. What do you say? Promise you'll snag me a drink and I'll let you in?
