That's not really a coup. I don't see why that wouldn't work.
But you would have to give a good reason for stepping down.

I'd also like to point out Turkey built an aircraft carrier in one post.

Turkey hasn't attacked anyone yet so you can't really sanction them right now. IIRC Turkey joined the EU IC? EU should clean up their house asap.
