If you want a good rp, read this shit.
Tiami is cool.
Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".

Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

Hold on, I know a man who is actually Japanese and active on P2TM. I'll get him to look at these ideas.

Back to the original question.

"Both feudal, and during the Meji Restoration." I won't be of much use. I'm heavy on science and light on history. My interest in the the Meiji Restoration would be akin to the average American's interest in the events involving the Spanish-American War or perhaps the Great Depression. It other words, "Yeah, it happened. Cool. What's for dinner?"

Says a lot when a Western company has released two games that happen during the Feudal Era, and one expansion for pre-Meiji, while Japan has a couple little 4X games no one's ever heard of. Then again, the West's big on big stuff.

Power Rangers: PokeForce

Postby Nocturn » Mon Feb 10, 2014 4:15 pm

RP Interest App Form

High Concept: Team Rocket has figured out how to merge Humans and Pokemon, creating the Pokelings, and how to fuse Pokemon together, creating the PokeFuse. They are using them to take over the world. Zordon, an inter-dimensional being, selects five Teenagers from the Regions of the World to become the Power Rangers: PokeForce, a team that uses the power of the Pokemon to defeat Team Rocket.
Genre/s: Action-Adventure, Sci-Fi, Mystic
Detailed Description: The scientists of Team rocket finally created the perfect soldiers, Pokelings, which are genetically modified Slowpoke's with the speed and strength of a Human. They follow orders without question and can use a few Pokemon moves.
Image

Team Rocket conquered all of Kanto with the Pokelings, but were unable to take over any other Regions. Until, that is, they created the PokeFuse, creatures created by merging Two Pokemon as well as a human. These creatures had human level intelligence plus the powers of Pokemon. They were fierce warriors, and with them, Team Rocket managed to conquer nearly all of the Pokemon World. Now only the Unova region remains. The Legendaries have all been captured by Team Rocket and are forced into experimentation to create the ultimate PokeFuse's. The resistance is still alive in Unova, but all seems lost. Until, that is, Zordon arrived from another universe. He gained a physical form and harnessed the mystical powers of Pokemon, molding them and creating the PokeMorphers. He then created the PokeZords, which were connected to the PokeMorphers. Zordon now must find five Teenagers, with Attitude, to don the PokeMorphers and become the PokeForce Power Rangers, who will take out Team Rocket. But beware, Team Rocket may have their own PokeMorpher up their sleeve.

Go, Power Rangers, Go, PokeForce, Let's Go!

@Pret. I know I'm shattering moulds here, but not all Japanese people share a hive mind. I'm not into history.

Again, cultural differences. Most Japanese aren't fixated on video games although we seem to thrive on the internet scene (we can be ourselves and don't have to maintain a forced politeness). Expecting all Japanese to have knowledge of a subject or interest in it because it happened in Japan is silly.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

I really should add this so Swith stops ranting about my procrastination.

RP Name: Personification Life
RP Creator: IC OP Cerillium; OOC OP and Worldbuilder Swith Witherward
Type: Character
Genre/s: ALL (some already in use)
Detailed Description:
The title is misleading. We are not a personification (Hetalia) RP.

"Overarching Concept: Daily life, peeps! Characters go about their life just as people do IRL. The problem with life is that SHIT HAPPENS. We can't always predict when shit will happen. It sometimes happens at the worst possible time. When life throws you lemons, make lemonade. When life throws you Eldritch Abominations and evil forces attempt to invade, pull yourself up by the bootstraps and go kick some ass."

"PL allows you to play any genre that's near and dear to your heart. You breathe life into that genre, finding balance with other genres already in place. It allows you to play whatever your imagination dreams up (other than godly beings so powerful that serve little purpose except to masturbate the player's ego.) PL's longevity is due to the OP and CoOPs allowing people to be creative while helping them adapt that creativity to fit in with the world setting." I'll add that it's also due to an active OOC where players become family.

Player Skill Level: All. New-to-RP players are expected to follow basic formatting requirements and to work to improve. This is an unofficial mentoring RP. We welcome veteran players as well. They tend to challenge the new guys as well as inspire them.

Link to the Current OOC: http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=268432

The first page of the OOC lists just about everything anyone wants to know about the PLverse and mechanics. You don't have to come in with working knowledge of the setting. Characters start off as new arrivals in Bielefeld City. Current players are helpful in getting new players settled in. Some stories are whimsical. Some are unplanned. Some are dark. You're more than welcome to drop by the OOC if you have questions about it.

The only characters I don't allow (because I'm an asshole) are Upotte!-type characters or actual characters from existing genre (you can't play the Immortal Emperor or Fluttershy.) You can bring in a character from a dead RP.

Maybe Pirates stuff anymore.

I would point out that that is an unfair stereotype of how people here talk - but it's really quite accurate.

I love it here. Very down to earth people. It took me a long while to understand what they were saying (my spoken English is shit) but you can sense warmth and friendliness when they talk to you. They don't all sound like that though. Most sound normal but still warm and friendly.
I wear teal, blue & pink for Swith
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

"Then I was fertilized and grew wise;
From a word to a word I was led to a word,
From a work to a work I was led to a work."
- Odin, Hávamál 138-141, the Poetic Edda, as translated by Dan McCoy.

I enjoy meta-humor and self-deprecation. Annoying, right?
