Traveller's Café 2: Discussion, tea, brainstorming & advice

Protagonists would technically be everyone (via their own propaganda), the goal for the mostly true history people would most likely be defending themselves from the alternate history. (By mostly true history, I mean the worlds where 9/11 did not happen, The Bundy Standoff ended in gunfire; etc etc, something very close to the setting of 2015)

This reminds me of how I'd love to somehow be able to make an RP where you could be any historical person and be able to use any sort of weapon from any period in history up to the present day in some sort of WWII scenario where a Nazi time travel machine causes a rip in the fabric of space time that brings a bunch of people and weapons to some point in WWII. And then I imagined Vasily Zaitsev mowing down Germans from 1000 meters with a semi auto .50 cal sniper rifle or Spartans with 2014 military equipment fighting equally equipped Axis forces invading Greece and realized how much potential for awesomeness such an RP would have.

Its a bit like that.

I had another RP (that never made it past the interest thread ) where every single historical empire came back, and starting fighting the modern world with modern weapons to take it over (again)

1. Grammar. It was really horrible.
2. More description. At least 2 paragraphs.
3. Develop the idea. Don't post it immediately - develop the idea at home. The common standard for mind developing is 1 week.
4. Interesting ideas. A business simulator? Not many people are into that. Try something more well received.
5. Rules and their enforcement. There were almost no rules in Business Land - posts were short, with bad grammar. Make a good rule set and enforce them.
6. Quality over quantity. 50 bad RPers aren't as good as 10 good ones.

That's just my ideas. I never made a RP.

Either that, or take a less passive approach and simply give anyone who isn't talking about RP's or P2TM in general a warning, day ban, etc., sort of like Moderation of TC2

Is this term negotiable? But yeah, mocking people is bad. Unless you're tsundere like me, then mocking everyone is OK. Especially Pragia.

Generally, I only ignore them if they don't interest me in the first place, although there's sometimes a grammar/format/flow landmine that makes me go berserk.

First, everyone invite one person to join us. That makes us broaden our horizons. They don't have to be good, in fact, as long qs they aren't trolls, invite them in.
Second, NO MORE IGNORING PITCHES. I don't care if it doesn't interest you, actually, use that and explain how to make it better. That's what this is for, no?
Third, guys, no more making fun of Zein or bad OP's. Yes, Zein has more hairbrained schemes than the villains from Scooby Doo, but AT LEAS HE'S TRYING. And yes, bad OP's definitely exist. Why not helping them instead of mocking them? We aren't Mean Girls.
Finally, and please don't kill me for this, please resist making Night a cult leader. It's kind of creepy and scares the kiddies away.

Hammerer: one who assists a prospective OP with hammering his nails.
Coffin: the RP as a whole.

To start simply, one nail is: Grammar. Bad grammar is unacceptable in the average conversation, let alone an RP. The best way to hammer this nail is simple: point out errors. Repeatedly. Until the OP stops making as many grammatical errors.

On an unrelated note: there are too damn many II roleplays that people are posting in P2TM. We need to fix that.
