Kudos.

One of the characters survived not one but two nukes, only a few meters in front of him, only suffering two broken legs.

And this is relevant to RP discussion how?
You know, if you feel like vaguebooking, DON'T DO IT.

Wait two weeks and see if the idea sticks.

Now, think about said idea constantly, refine it, do research on the USMC, Russia, nuclear weapons and their effects, and start to develop a plot and a setting.
First, finding a unstable country that isn't middle eastern, and near a coast.
Probably in the Balkans...so maybe Georgia.

High Concept: Zombie outbreak in New York from the perspective of a surviving military squad. More of a focus on the psychological effects and moral dilemmas presented in a zombie outbreak rather than shooting and exploding everything in sight.
Genre/s: Survival/Psychological Horror
Detailed Description:
12 February 2014 - A video is uploaded on the internet and goes viral, showing a 'drunken' individual in Central Park attacking people indiscriminately. Police officers responding to the scene are shown to have tasered and peppersprayed the individual to no effect. Suspect was finally subdued and brought to the precinct.
13 February 2014 - The CDC arrives and locks down the precinct, detaining everyone bitten during the incident. Most do not return from their detainment.
17 February 2014 - The families of those detained demand explanations as to their disappearance but receive nothing. This issue becomes highly publicized throughout the world.
28 February 2014 - Incidents similar to the 'Central Park Incident' are reported throughout New York City with alarming frequency.
2 March 2014 - The National Guard sets up roadblocks and checkpoints on the bridges to and from Manhattan, checking every vehicle and person, affecting transportation and causing several protests.
4 March 2014 - The CDC and authorities conduct mass searches block by block of Manhattan. Entire buildings are 'condemned' by the CDC and mass arrests are conducted for no foreseeable reason.
10 March 2014 - Protests and riots regularly occur in Manhattan against the unfair mass detainments and condemnation of entire buildings.
12 March 2014 - Martial law is instituted in the state of New York. Manhattan is officially locked down by the military and all communications from Manhattan are cut.
14 March 2014 - Manhattan is isolated from the outside world with no clear reason why. The US government declares Manhattan to be infected by a highly contagious and deadly virus. The true nature is kept secret.
16 March 2014 [Present Day] - Martial law ineffective. The infected overrun several military outposts and checkpoints within Manhattan. People are advised to stay in their homes and wait for help. The outside world is oblivious to Manhattan's struggle for survival.
Yeah, kind of a bland setting and story but whatever. In zombie media, the military is always either nonexistent, ineffective or the bad guys so I thought it would be interesting to play as them for a change.
I aim to have multiple choices that are very morally grey and the arguments that would arise are sure to be very interesting.

Well, the way I see it, in zombie media, police officers are often grouped in the 'civilian' category which means they know as much as the next average joe about what's going on.
The military is often more well-informed of the situation at large and the true nature of what's happening. The police force is often just kept in the dark and made to adapt to the situation themselves. There's a higher risk of information leaks in local police forces (they grew up in the area, they're connected to the locals, etc.) whereas the military has less emotional attachment to the area and its inhabitants.

High Concept: Zombie outbreak in Eastern European Country during a NATO Military Intervention
Genre/s: War, Mystery, Survival Horror, zombies
Detailed Description: In 2009, a Coup D’état in the Chernarussian province of South Zagoria resulted in the deaths of the Chernarussian Prime Minister, as well as his entire cabinet at the hands of the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star, commonly known as the Chedaki among locals and mostly made up of ethnic Russians. This resulted in a turn of events causing the Chernarussian Defence Force (CDF) retreating from the province and the capital being taken by Insurgent forces. The American 27th Marine Expeditionary Force, stationed off the coast of the country, went into high alert and a command decision was made to intervene in the country following congress approval, which happened within 48 hours. After the initial US Marine incursion and evidence of mass graves and numerous missing persons came to light, several other NATO nations, namely the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada sent forces to assist in the intervention. But there’s something lurking in the forests of Chernarus, something dangerous that the military forces in the area are not prepared for.
