I could add the ability to play as one character in the Cold War RP I made. That way there isn't fighting after all the "good" nations are taken. The biggest issue for a character RP in a war setting is the fact that one person is a lot easier to kill, and lots of RPers are going after that one person. When you have basically the two most powerful alliances in the world in 1972 fighting in a full scale war with each other, one person is not very helpful. Especially because lots of people are going to try to eliminate the one character.

Here's the biggest issue I have:

"Soviet Forces once again attack Western Berlin, with thousands of soldiers, jets, and tanks to overwhelm the NATO defences. A Soviet Anti-Air groups fires desperately on the Allied aircraft, until one finally makes its mark through the flares. It's the fighter of (_________)"

And then a big fight starts in the OOC. I've seen it happen with Nation/Character RPs.

Seriously, I don't see what's fun with two big anonymous blocks waging war on each other for the hell of it.

No, my RP is instead of Kennedy trying Diplomacy, he orders the F-102's to fire the Nuclear Laced missiles at the Soviet Weapons carriers. It sparks World War 3.

Just throwing this idea out there, what about a realistic gladiator RP? You can pick your weapons and armor and such, and everyone can fight in duels of varying types?

Hell, it doesn't even have to be Roman tech. Future-tech gladiators would be kickass.

I ran an FT gladiator arena once. Quantification was highly necessary.

Yeah, I hate numbers games though. I think I'd rather try T1 rules before resorting to numbers. OR go the full D&D ruleset route. I just hate involving movement as units.

Why do that when you can burn Europe to the ground? Besides, it ruins the storyline if you just end the world right then. The only person who has used nuclear weapons is the US, everyone else has them banned.

I listen to music as well. Sometimes I play games as well, or read stuff.

The drawback with music is that sometimes I get all self-absorbed and can't focus.

I don't. This is one of many reasons why I am far from the most reliable writer here. I just do other things for a few days to a few weeks until I feel like I have something to say. Usually, the actual cause of my writers' block is RL busyness anyway; I'm too focused on other things to spare brainpower for writing. So I try to get some of those things done, and when I do, the spare time thus created generates ideas of its own accord.

Most of my writing is emulating one author or another, or many at once. To that end, reading is my muse.

As much as I love listening to music, it really doesn't help my writers block at all. Usually, I just listen to it for stress relief and to zone out. What usually does help combat that terrible plague, however, is reading. Until recently, I haven't had the time go to the school library and pick something out. Even if I've read it before, just taking a step back from the creative process and simply looking at someone elses work is probably my best cure for it.
