Yes, when the Akaviri invaded Morrowind in the Second Era, Vivec taught the entire nation how to breathe underwater (the dark elves) and then he flooded all of Morrowind to destroy the invaders. It was a pretty famous event actually, but few people know about it. It was funny, actually the dark elves and Argonia became allied for a short while in something called the Ebonheart Pact. Which if you didn't know, will be one of the playable alliances for the Elder Scrolls Online.

Prior to the Red Year, the Dunmer and the Argonian people were probably the strongest on all of Tamriel.

Well, that is surprising! I always thought that the Dunmer population was way less than that. I am also surprised that the beast races don't have a lot of population considering that they breed in larger numbers than mer or men.

You know that chart is fairly inaccurate as it is based upon counting populations throughout all the games and doesn't include unnamed npcs...it also doesn't take into account major events that happen between games as their is no data for it along with the fact there is no information at all about Elsweyr

And even if it did take such things into account, we're talking about the population chart of the entire CONTINENT. Which means that number of people in those races are in hundreds or thousands or even millions. Per race.

As for the population of Tamriel, I'd say the population of each race is in the millions. With say the Orcs at about 2.5 Million (estimating) and everyone else accordingly. After all at its height the Roman Empire encompassed an estimated 120 Million people back in the Ancient Era with an Army of about 300,000 and a sizable Navy during its height.

The Imperial Legion was estimated at its height to be 100,000-110,000 soldiers approx. plues any levies from the Provinces (Like Jarl's troops, or what not for example). So with that military to population ratio I'd say the population of Tamriel is at least 50 Million for a continent with Medieval technology and magic. I'd say no more than 80 Million TOPS during the glory days of the Septims.

Yes, they are on the population decline as a result of being refugees and losing many people in the Red Year and subsequent war with Argonia. Plus you have to take into consideration the harsh environment and the Imperial occupation of Western Morrowind as well. All of those are factors into a population decline which has been going on for many years.

Not to mention the fact that for many Dunmer couples, having children is a serious ordeal and lasts for a long time, further decreasing the likelihood that Dunmer will have children. They just have far too much to worry about in their own lives to worry about raising a kid for 50 years.

My characters are arriving at Balmora. I'm leaving the main area of the city open, as in I'm not gonna write about it too specifically. I'm going with this:

Followed by the eruption of the nearby Red Mountain in the beginning of the Fourth Era, no one knows the state of the city at Fourth Era 201 Fifth Era 5. It might have been rebuilt, but most likely, nothing has happened with the destroyed city.

Straight from wiki, edited the year though. I suppose the city was covered in ash. But as I said, I'll just write that there is a shack village/slum near the city and workers are trying to resurrect the city.

Good luck! I get wrapped up in my writing sometimes and take hours to post what I thought was going to be only a thirty minute post. I just get involved in the storyline and then that is that for me, I am in my own little world for hours at a time. That is the joy of writing I suppose though.

Not to be an ass, but there are several errors in your application. One is that Balmora was destroyed by the ash storms and lava flows, not a conjurer trying to summon a deadra. Plus Hermaeous Mora isn't that destructive, it would be different if you were trying to summon Dagon or Molag Bal, but not Mora.

Second, okay, if your character is 23 he would not have been alive during the reign of the Tribunal (Third-First Era) and Balmora, Vivec, and Sadrith Mora were all destroyed a long time before your character was even born. Third off, slavery was made illegal in Morrowind and the slaves were freed during the Oblivion Crisis, six years after the events of Morrowind The Elder Scrolls: III. Fourth, Vivec was taken by deadra (disappeared), and Sotha Sil and Amalexia had been dead for a long time, barring your exile from the Tribunal Temple. Fifth, you put that your birthplace was in Sadrith Mora, but then changed it to Tel Aruhn under the family background.

I don't want to be a lore Nazi, but you put way too many errors in there for me to let it go by as those errors will mess up Tel Vanni and I in our chracters.

Well, Tel Vanni has already been to Balmora and has found nothing there but ash and destruction. Though it could be possible that Xulcandra missed a habitation plan in her rush to get to the Dwemer ruins. Anyways, I would just write that a very small part of the city has been dug out and is being lived in, with the remainder of the inhabitants living in a little shanty town close to the river or in tents. As of the events taking place there, they are trying to encourage miners and settlers to come back and speed up the process.

Sometimes I tend to think that how the hell am I supposed to write that minimum requirement, was it 5-6 lines. But once I start to write, I get a lot more lines pretty easily.

AND FUCK IT. I messed up, the whole story I wrote, disappeared... I copied it in order to post it, got distracted and copied something else. OF COURSE I hadn't backed it up so there's that. And now I'm too tired to write it all again... I'll post in the morning.

Okay, well everything that you said is true! Oh, and by the way, I know exactly how you feel about writing something, copying and pasting it, then having it be lost or destroyed. It has happened to me while I was roleplaying on NS twice and I hated it both times and epically rage quit in both the RP's it happened in.

What I hate is when you are writing something that you think is really good and then you go to post it and you realize how short or long it really is. It irritates me. Oh, and then I hate it when I write a really in-depth scene and no one takes advantage of the way that I set everything up. I am like, "What the fuck? I set up most of the work for you and you still didn't use it, lazy ass!"

I hope that this roleplay lasts as long as the Undead Empires one did. We were still posting and talking about it not two weeks ago as well. It was a very long standing roleplay and would have continued if we had not lost our OP and people stopped posting because of that. Oh, well.
