Lol well I tried to think of a witty comeback someone might say to spur the troops. I was gonna go with some inspiring imperial battle cry, but that can be cliche if used a lot by the empire. So I went personal with Ariela and her group of soldiers to try and relieve their spirits.

I would have liked if at least some of them were fazed. Wolfram is supposed to be fearsome. How can he be fearsome when he can't even unnerve one or two common footsoldiers?

Also, will introduce Rollo in next post. May have Wolfram's daughter presented to the Emperor, so he can assign her a family. I was thinking her lineage is kept secret and they say she was adopted after her parents died when she gets old enough to question her adopted family.

Well they are professional soldiers. Shouting wouldn't unnerve them. Which also makes the story somewhat less dramatic on the empire side in my opinion. Cause their professionalism and discipline limits what they'd do like be more fearful or break formation easily etc. stuff that gives a player a distinct advantage

Approved, but are you sure that's all you want to start with? I would expect a travelling merchant to at least have a pack animal or a boat or something.

Gah. Like honestly.

I would just like to state a thank you to Imp and Tel because of your constant nagging of me. XD. Without it, I personally wouldn't have become addicted to the Elder Scrolls lore and started playing Skyrim even more. I would also be a lot less advanced of a roleplayer. I hope that this RP never dies.

Anybody know any Skyrim mods I can use to become more aquainted with the lore without having to read too many books.

I would also like to note that since I joined this roleplay I have gotten Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall and Arena

hmmm I'm not to sure on mods...that's not exactly my field of experience to be honest. I know Elder Scrolls Wiki and UESP Wiki has a large amount of lore oriented pages. Though, the games themselves are considered canonical in practically all aspects.

WOOOOOO! As a relatively new player, I can say that this RP would have never made it without such a great OP (& Co-OP) :) Thank you for starting this RP, best one I've ever had (both inside and outside NS).

I wanted to make a merchant/noble hybrid which is the daughter of Sebastian's oldest son of his most recent marriage (to an Imperial merchant from a powerful merchant family), I would prefer to wait until the moment where I would have to introduce her (which is about two and a half weeks of IC time, take or give a few days of OOC time) to make an app for her (maybe two or three posts before her actual introduction). Do you think that Sebastian's last wife (and to an extent, his granddaughter) is from the Valanca family (like a distant cousin or something)? She is located in Solitude and exports liquor under an EEC charter, she owns two manors in Haarfingar (from which she derives her income and title) as well as a large still, in addition to her house in Solitude, and a medium-sized cog (of course, I would still need to sort out all the details with Imp and Tel Vanni). This still is one of Sebastian's three targets in his current quest. Of course, her parents are still alive, but the focus is on her, as her parents were conducting a business transaction, but unknown to her, they were killed by "pirates"*. So what do you say, want to make 'em relatives?

*If anyone is interested in being their killed/assassin, be my guest, it can happen any-time during the RP as they are currently at the waters to the west of High Rock and on the way to Senchal, I don't have a current plan as to when they will die, but they were supposed to do a round trip from Solitude to Senchal through the west of Tamriel, then from Senchal to Solitude through the east of Tamriel. They have a boat-load of liquor, but I would not be surprised if they are carrying anything else, so I would let that thought sink if you manage to catch my drift... (enough with the boat puns). Of course, they still need to periodically stop at ports to get supplies and such, so pretty much any coastal place will do except the Dominion, if no-one is interested, then I will say they (tried to) stop at Valenwood and were massacred due to the events of the War when she gets the news, but that will be months from now. There were no survivors, so how would the news spread to the other side of the continent? Even with a messenger on a horse who mission is to spread the news as fast as it can (discounting mage networks, it's minor nobility, not the ruler of a nation), I reckon that the deaths of these two (and their merchandise), would take a month and a half to get there IC time, imagine what is it like for soldiers to get drunk and boast about the "silly Imperial merchants" who got slaughtered, not to mention the fact that they need to be identified, the distortion of facts, and the expected arrival before anyone gets suspicious about what is going on.

Stormhound, I know Wolfram is supposed to be fear some, but detailing Legionnaires as, 'inexperienced,' is rather absurd. Each Legionnaires is trained and a professional in what they do. With strict discipline like the Roman military. They wouldn't break formation and run at some one like a peasant. A massive strength in any pre-gunpowder military was the ability to fight as a formation. That's why the Romans continuously triumphed for so many centuries over so many different adversaries. They could adapt and fight in many formations at almost second nature.

Also, how did they get a special built wagon? out of the blue? The wagon itself could be explained to not make it seem like a random Deus Ex Machina.

It was meant to be part of a series of wagons, similar to chariots. It was the prototype though.

Really? I mean, the dozens of arrows raining down on them from the sides, the chariot with scythe-like wheels that formation would be useless against, etc.? Also, I doubt every single Legionnaire is made out of stone. What I meant by inexperience was "fresh." Not seeing battle yet. Killing Wolfram would be seen by at least one or two as a badge of honor, something to boast about.

Okay, thanks for clarifying

Fresh is fine, but they wouldn't break formation so easily. That and the flanks were guarded so they'd have time to raise shields. Though it would stop their advance. The punishment for breaking formation in the Roman military, especially against prior orders to stay in formation, was Death. Usually by stoning from fellow Legionnaires. Not saying they are perfect soldiers, and Wolfram can be fierce (I have no qualms with that), just trying to make sure that a small group of Nords don't pull a 300 move. (Kinda the sucky part of OPing if you ask me is to do this, and I hate it.)

The lineage part is that the story could take place over multiple generations if we have succeeding ICs

Wolfram's personality traits more resemble Xerxes, not that petty Spartan. :P

I'm considering having him start a monotheistic religion similar to Zoroastrianism, with Akatosh as the Great Good God, or something similar, while the Divines are relegated to saints and demigods, and Mehrunes Dagon seen as an adversary who is unknowingly and unwilling doing Akatosh' will.

Sorry for the lack of posting in my story arcs, Well there is an update now, I had Luparc's permission to give Darten some dialogue, and I hope everything is okay with the sea serpent. (I could find no information whatsoever on the Maormer sea serpents so I found an image of a sea serpent and based my description off of that)

For the night is dark, and full of terrors.
