I believe you are grossely underestimating the size of Summerset Isle. I believe it is probably much larger than Great Brittain - perhaps as much as three times the size.

The High Council meeting was being delayed so that other stories could catch up. Mostly, it was so that King Helseth could finish trapping the Thalmor, but there are also a few other stories running slowly.

Now that King Helseth has begun the Trial of the Thalmor, there's no reason the council meeting can't continue. Just try to keep them going at the same speed and we'll say they're happening the same evening.

OOC not for a while (A major concerted counter attack anyways with forces from Alinor) due to stories needing to be caught up (at least in a rough sense due to the abstract passage of time). Though ICly the northern Valenwood Dominion forces that are stationed not at the border would probably be mobilizing by now. The shock is at its height, considering the Dominion had fought the First Great War offensively and therefore the fighting never destroyed Dominion infrastructure in any large sense, so the sudden and aggressive Imperial invasion would throw their plans awry and cause delays.

That and the nature of warfare for that technological setting (even with magic) can be often a shot in the dark with numbers based on scouts estimations of known troop movements. So the Legions could be spotted at farthest being 15 miles into Valenwood one day, then a Legion could be over 30 Miles in the next day if they double timed a march and in a totally different direction.

But, I plan a major (primarily Bosmer force) Dominion force comprising of a lot of land forces to converge around Arenthia. A vital supply and control location to control Northern Valenwood as its the only major city in that region of the province. So I suspect some frequent fighting from skirmishes to pitched battles of thousands of troops occurring soon (next few posts).

But that's my personal take on the situation as of today.

Hope I am not behind, just need to try and come up on how to do the post with the Twilight Guard and make sure that it can go well with the other storylines in Skyrim.
