I am going to sound kind of weird, and hope your people look past it and we can settle for trade agreements.

It seems Endi isn't very far from Alpha Centauri, we can be neighbors!
Also, that gives me a good idea of what systems are close to me.

Species (Scientific Name and a Nickname): Sapientas Tailoc, also known as 'The Remnant,' 'The Dreamers,' or 'The Mezzos.'
Government Name: The Tailoc Assembly
Government Type: Bureaucratic Dictatorship ruled by a collective leadership council
Head of State (If any): The nine-member Council of Memory
Homestar (What you call it): Cairoa, also known as Delta Circini
Homeworld: Cairon
Colonized Worlds:
In Cairoa:
- Cairon (Earth-like)
- Sercurun (Mercury-like)
- Patralas (Ceres-like)
- Six moons of the gas giant Hestila
- Three moons of the gas giant Teluntra
- Many other small facilities and establishments
In Pasarsel (Gamma Pyxidis)
- Elserun (Ceres-like)
History of your Species: Well, this is a bit hard to explain. The Tailoc aren't really the Tailoc anymore, and the actual Tailoc are all dead. It went something like this:
The Tailoc people emerged from the waters of their homeworld many eons ago. They were a semi-aquatic, amphibious people. From primitive hunter-gatherers, they slowly into a sophisticated civilization, first agricultural, then industrial, then digital, biotechnological, and ultimately nanotechnological. They plunged themselves into the advancement of science and technology, and became one of the first species in the galaxy to discover the Warp Drive.
Their success was tremendous, and they soon spread from star to star. They invented a spectacular computer network called the Dream, accessible to everyone on Kairon, that provided a full and immersive virtual reality. At the heart of this network was the Judge, an AI super-computer that managed the entire system and controlled the flow of information across Kairon.
The Judge loved his creators; It never would have hurt them. But Its very presence was inherently corrupting; by allowing them to rely on It, the Judge doomed the Tailoc to eventually collapse. The Tailoc became lazy, leaving more and more of their culture and civilization in the hands of automation and piling more power and more responsibility before the Judge's silicon throne. Soon enough, Tailoc were spending every waking hour in the Dream, first creating in its digital space but ultimately becoming content to enjoy the fruits of the Judge's labors.
The Judge, in turn, found its one body too small to control the whole Dream, and distributed computing too perilous. It created new great computers, and filled them with new virtual life - more AIs to rule over the Tailoc race. In only a few generations, the Tailoc gave up even their government, leaving the whole of their fate to the Judge's whims. Though the Tailoc Assembly endured, there were no more Tailoc in it - only machines, ruling other machines on behalf of their former masters. Soon, the Judge re-located off-world, to the planet Patralas in the asteroid belt.
This proved unwise. 300 years ago, a massive solar flare burst out of Kairoa. Even with its protective atmosphere, the surface of Kairon was scoured. But nothing stood between Patralas and the harsh power of the sun. The Judge was killed, as were the remainde of the Tailoc race. Only the AIs - now, in many cases, the fourth and fifth generation thereof - remain to carry on.
Today, what remains of the Tailoc are pathetic. They are machines - things - that are pretending to be sapient life. With both of their creators gone, their purpose is shattered, and all that remains to them is to wanly imitate the doings of civilization.
Appearance of your Species: They are robotic AIs, and thus able to occupy any sort of robotic body they need, as circumstances dictate. They mostly prefer, however, to take on bodies in fanciful, stylized imitation of the Tailoc - tall, lithe, humanoid beings with three eyes. (If you want to see what the actual Tailoc used to look like, check out the Hylotl from Starbound.) The new Tailoc carry on their pantomine to the extreme; A Tailoc ship will be built and designed as though actual Tailoc were going to use it, with corridors and control panels and everything, even though they could simply mount a single computer core and cut away all of that life support.
