Free-form description of your nation: The United States of North America was formed after the near collapse of the United States in 2060, in which time the United States and Canada agreed to unify together as one superstate, at the same time purchasing Greenland from the European Union state of Denmark. While the initial years of establishing the government were a challenge, the nation eventually was able to set itself up with a government almost exactly like the one that stood for the United States beforehand, with a few changes as in the name, the role of the government in daily life, and the establishment of social programs to cover essentials for all citizens on the Earth territories. With the unification of these two nations, the United States (as it's still referred to) has been the world's "beacon" for what one would call "freedom". In reality, it lost it's touch with the concept of freedom, as the state monitors much of the public life of people, only allowing people to experience privacy in their own homes. The economy has always been a strong point, as well as it's advances in technology. With this comes the fact that it is highly developed on Earth in comparison to others, and decently developed on Mars and the Moon (Luna). Proxima has been it's late start, as it's referred to, as it has only just begun it's colonization process and will take time to develop anything that could be considered a self sustaining colony. Nevertheless, the people of the nation stand with pride in their view that they are citizens in one of the main powers of the globe. It's extensive advances in space stations have helped it secure itself in the region of space. At the same time, there is a lack of development in space-fairing vehicles, as significant improvements will need to be made for it's long distance travel in order to ensure itself as a player in the developing future.
