Chp. 1
I remember a time when I did not have to kill. To fight for liberty, and justice. A time where war was unknown. I had time to do things that now it is too late to do. I found love back then but I waited too long. When I was around 17 my dad Giovanni Auditore was always busy. I always wanted to go on these adventures with dad. Of course, he wouldn’t let me “Mio figlio nel tempo capirai”(My son in time you will understand. I understand now of course what he meant.
He meant that I was young and foolish, proud if you will. At the time this was true and this would be true for a while (a long while for some things.) Even after the events that will soon occur will still not help me. To learn is to take time as I have come to find out. The events I speak of is actually why my dad did not want me to join him in the first place. See, my dad was not just a banker. He was also an Assassin. An assassin that would learn a conspiracy that signed the familia’s death warrant. Giovanni learned of a conspiracy that marked some big names in that time, The Pazzi and The Borgia.
My actions did not help at the time. I did mi padre much as I had gotten in a fight with the Pazzi boy. I earned my first scar that day with my brother Federico. Federico a boy who I looked up to. Not only as my brother but as a friend. I trusted him and he helped me many a times. I remember the one time he helped me with a girl, a girl named Cristina Vespucci. A girl that I loved that made her dad hate me (for a reason of course). The next morning I returned to villa Auditore with a happy heart. Father had asked me to help out my family. I first went to Claudia Auditore. Claudia was my sister. A strong girl and a good friend. In the end her and mother would be the strongest bonds I had. When I had finally walked up to her to ask if she needed help she was crying. When I asked here only to find out that Duccio (the local uomo puttana) had cheated on her with another women (a fat one I might add). At the time Duccio had asked Claudia to marry him. She did say yes, but knowing this only added energy to my rage. I calmly beat him to a pulp and left back to Claudia to tell her that she won’t be bothered by that cazzo.
Petruccio, The youngest and the one who did not deserve what happened to the family the most. He asked if I could some feathers for him (to give to mother) on top of the building. I did this in return that he go to bed. Petruccio was the innocent one of our family. If I could’ve saved him I would’ve. My mother, mio madre was a strong-willed women that even fought off being catatonic. Mother had asked me to help carry paintings from a local artist.
Chp. 2
The local artist was none other than Leonardo Da Vinci. At the Time I did not think much about him. He was a genius and soon would become a great friend and ally to mi e assassini. But that happens later. Right now he is a lowly painter who is just trying to get by. During that night is when I learned that father was not just a banker. It was also the night dad broke what I would learn to be called a hidden blade. This nice little toy did what it was called. It was a blade that (almost) appeared from nowhere. That night I felt something bad was going to happen.
That night, that night will always be burned in my heart and soul. It was the night I lost just about everything. This night was a hard strike to the Auditore Familia. My father, my brother and my youngest brother Petruccio all died by the rope. Hanged for secretly having incriminating info, publicly for treason. Before their deaths I had climbed to where they were being held and received some instructions, to grab his stuff (assassin stuff) and to get mother and Claudia to safety. I went back to the villa. In the villa i found that there was a secret entrance. This secret entrance was the fireplace. Behind the fireplace was fathers things. I opened the chest he had instructed me to find and in was the assassins garb. It called to me i didnt need to wear it but i felt like it wanted me to wear it. So, i put it on and it felt good. I felt powerful yet cunning. It was a mixture of many things that i wouldn't understand till later.I grabbed a sword from the chest. I also saw dads gauntlet and Hidden blade. This blade was broken so i kept it in one of the pouches, I put up the hood. I felt like i was suppose to and then I left.
When i left the house 2 guards were outside. They were waiting for me. They had their swords out so i pulled mine out. I learned some sword fighting from my brother. With what i learned and the heat of the moment i attacked first. Surprised by this the guards backed up and tried to regroup. I did not let them, i immediately attack the second guard. With my sword i swept his legs and then stabbed him in the chest. The other guard tried to attack when i was open. I pulled my sword out just in time to block his sword. With the block i pushed him back and slashed at his arm. Doing this sent the guard back and i followed up driving the sword into his chest.
After this attack i decided to climb and use the roofs to get back to giovanni. "Those robes look good on you." He said as he greeted me. I told him that i got the stuff and showed it to him. "Good take this paper to uberto he will be able to exonerate us." I Did as i was told and waited till the next day to see if they were free
Chp. 3
The next morning i went to the gallows. I saw that uberto had been working with rodrigro. I saw that father was yelling to uberto what would happen only to be cutoff. By the rope around his neck suffocating him and my brothers, breaking bones, closing up the esophagus. I saw this and it made me made. I was in the crowd so i saw it clearly. I acted rashly and in turn i was discovered. I cursed at myself under my breath and turned and run.
I fled with Mother and Claudia. I took back routes and severely paths. I was wary of guards and j did my best to keep the fighting to a minimal. I led them to uncles. His name was Mario Auditore. He too was an assassin, more of a mercenario than an assassino but none the less a person I can trust. Mario fought off anyone who had followed us and led us to safety in Monterigionni. This place, when I first came here it was dark and gloomy. I helped Mario rebuild Monterigionni. But right now I have more pressing matters.I wanted to go back.
Mario said it was to dangerous and to go now it be reckless (he was right) but all I wanted to do was go. "What should I do then zio?" I asked impatiently. Mario simply says "stay! At least learn how to fight mi nipote.
Chp. 4
So I stayed. I learned how to fight. When it was time I left back to firenze. While I was there I met an important group and person. A group that would teach me the rest of my assassin skills.The Courtesians Helped me (in more then one way) to learn 2 fundamental things. How to pickpocket and how to blend into crowds, benches and to over all disappear. With my new found skills I learned how to kill in the shadows. The next person I learned about was la volpe. He was a thief and head of the thieves guild. He informed what the gauntlet did. He told to me to find someone who could fix it. I had one person in mind.
This one person was Leonardo Da Vinci. I felt like I could trust him. This proved true when I finally made it to his pallazo. He had asked me what had happens and what is going on. I told him to save it for later and showed him the gauntlet and page. He said he could decipher the page but it take some time. So I left and did some other things.
When I came back he had it fully deciphered. He said it was a codex page and said that they're we're many more to be found throughout Italy. He also said that he could rebuild my hidden blade so this time I decided to stay. "This device requires the sacrifice of your ring finger." "Really" I said "yes" now I'll count to three and chop it off with this cleaved are you ready?" He said with no emotion. "Ci if I must" I said hesitantly. "Ok so 1...2....3!" WHACK! I flinched for a second then when I opened my eyes my finger was still there. "What the fuck Leo?!" Leo who started to laugh said "I'm sorry ezio I couldn't resist. See the original blade did require a sacrifice of your finger. I managed to lower the blade so you don't have to cut off your finger." I was a little surprised at Leo's response but before I could say anything he moved to the next thing. "This page also shows some techniques on how to use the hidden blade and how to make a second one." Interesting tell me more."
We talked and walked. I was getting use to having these things attached to my arm. When we got there Leo's assistant helped set up some targets. There were 3 targets. The first target taught me how to assassinate from a haybale. The second one was an assassination from a ledge. Finally the third one, this one taught me how to air assassinate. When we were done 2 guards had approached Leo they questioned him if they had seen me. He said no (I was so glad I had a friend I could trust in this town) Because he said no they pushed him to the ground and started to beat him up. I figured that I could use both my blade to get both guards. Grazie dio that it worked. I saved Leonardo and we formed quite bond. From what I learned I could finally assassinate my first target.
Chp. 5
My first target was Uberto Alberti. That traitorous rat was supposed to exonerate mi familia. He was supposed to be our friend. I tailed uberto to Basilica di Santa Croce where I beat him mercilessly and stabbed him a couple of times. Despite my training I did this in public. After he died I proudly proclaimed that the “The Auditore are not dead! I'm still here! Me! Ezio! Ezio Auditore!" I was arrogant and foolish doing this made me a wanted man. So I ran. I ran back to Monteriggioni.
I needed to learn more about my heritage. Mario had told about Assassins and Templars. To me it reeked of fantasy. I couldn’t believe it if it weren’t for my hidden blade. I learned that the courtessian who taught me was also an assassin. He said that father was one too. I refused this and wanted no part in it. I know I made zio mad but I just wanted to get Claudia and mother to safety. Mario though was tired of the attacks from the pazzi minions.
These pazzis were a thorn in my side as well so while Mario went in to attack I went in stealthy and looked for verie. He was on top of a building. I got into a duel with him. My weapon of choice was my hidden blades. I parried his failed attacks and returned with a slash to the leg and stomach. I finally over powered him and decided to get info out of him.
