"Something like that? Being like me? Or you've found something like your family? You seem quite off Dmitri... I mean..." Alfie said, his smile fading. "Noire talked to you... Didn't he? What did he say?" he asked suddenly. He had noticed the spirit's presence around the house. Here more than anywhere, and Noire never lingered in one place for long.
From the staircase, Mitchell walks out and leans against the balcony railing, watching as the two little boys conversed like grown-ups. He frowned. They seemed tense. Both of them. Though Damien more than Alfie. It appeared now that they were related, but Mitch didn't see Damien in the painting.
Strange...
''No...'' said Damien noticing Mitch in the room He couldn't say anything that would add fuel to the fire and indicate him being an immortal.
I should change the subject...
''The painting seems a bit burnt, its seems to be rather specific though, that exact spot where someone else must have been sitting, deleted from hostory.''
Alfie frowned and cocked his head. He was trying to avoid that, but he let it flow. He wasn't going to lose his brother again.
"Uhm... See, Granddad, Grandma, and Uncle Jacques were there. They were burned off, but not intentionally." Alfie lied. He'd removed them because they left him and his younger brother Caspian to die in the orphanage. "It was in our old mansion. When it burned down, this came with it." he said, looking at the burnt areas.
Mitchell ran down the stairs towards the boys, then tapped Alfie's shoulder.
"I'm glad to see you're alright, Alfie." he said with a smile.
"Yes. Thank you Mitchell." Alfie replied flatly.
Mitchell looked surprised all of a sudden. "How could you tell I was Mitchell?"
"Oh, yes. Well, you give out more heat than your twin Matthew does, so... I can easily tell the difference." he said adeptly.
Mitchell nodded. "Alright... So you really are brothers then." he admitted.
Alfie looked to Dmitri and remembered what Mosley said to him. He had only pretended to be his brother.
"Uh... Yes." Alfie said simply, looking down at the floor.
