I knew many good people that the Order imprisoned and I would like to know of their fate," Anne said, purposely omitting that her family was among those taken. She was quiet for a moment and took a sip of her tea. She was enjoying her company, but the memory of her family was still a dark spot, and she was still a bit uncomfortable by the girls hypocrisy. Steven flash a quick glance at her to make sure she was alright, but she looked to be coping quite well.
"I'm a Whig myself. I don't like the Path's philosophy, but I worked with some SLF members while the Order was still about. I met all sorts of interesting people. Were your parent's involved in one those organizations, or is it just something you find interesting?' Steven said smiling before he remembered that the girl wasn't who she appeared to be.
Whatever the case she seems nice. Anne is actually holding together pretty well giving the circumstances, and wow... I probably should introduce us by now.
"My name is Steven, by the way, and I'll introduce my friend since she is drinking at the moment."
"Its okay, I can introduce myself. I'm Anne. Today we are just exploring the city too. i wouldn't go west, its horrid in that direction," she said quietly.
"My parents had some dealings with The Path and I found their philosophy slightly agreeable considering what was going on at the time. Anyway my name's Rei and what's going on to the west?" she asked. It was apparent that she wasn't paying close enough attention to the news or wasn't in the area in her ghost form and hopefully they would explain their point of view on why it was so bad in that specific direction.
Although it was true that she had no idea what was going on towards the west and probably wouldn't go there if the reason was good enough. The story that her parents had some dealings with the path however was false and she was the one who aided the path until she had found that their philosophy was changing from abhuman equality to super supremacy. She left because it wasn't her belief, she believed that all beings ought to be bound to the law equally regardless of wealth, power, gender, and age.
Her train of thought crashed into a mountain of blocks as the bartender asked them why bother looking around when there are people who worked for the order scattered all over the place and she heard the employees in the back talking about their time working for the order. 'I haven't looked at them through their prospective' rei thought
"Nothing is going on in the west. That's the problem. Its as bad as people say. Everyone is crooked. The rich are responsible, and the middle class don't care. I wouldn't go there. There must be a few decent people there somewhere, but I wouldn't spend enough time there to seek them out. The place is dangerous and going there might literally be the last thing you do," Steven offered. "I know I'm not driving back that way anyhow."
Anne watched the girl. She was sure about her, she wanted to treat her like the average teenage girl even though she clearly wasn't. Eventually she cleared her throat and spoke up.
"Did you drive here? I don't know if your parents would like you walking through this district of the city," Anne said with concern in her voice. Be her a body snatcher or not, Anne had found her a nice person. She didn't want to see her get injured in the cit. Perhaps at least they could drive to where ever she needed to go. This seemed like a bad idea too, and Anne would have never let people drive her somewhere, but it seemed safer tto her than the alternative. Of course, if she drove her own car then there would be no cause for alarm at all.
