Arkhaven - The Devaheight Building

Image

The double doors to the conference hall clicked open as Commander Victoria Hanz, aide-de-camp of The Blue King, entered accompanied by various fellow officers of Hova 12.

Looking around in silence for a brief moment, she then turned stiffly to one of her comrades and said, "I want a secured perimeter established within 2 miles of this vicinity...an assembly of important people are about to be present here and I don't want to have an incident of any sort happening under our watch....is that clear?"

"YES MAAM!" cried the soldiers in blue as they saluted respectfully and departed to do their jobs. Victoria then proceeded towards a nearby window and gazed out before sighing. Taking out her iPhone, she swiped it unlocked and typed the message "Preparations Ongoing. 1 & 1/2 an hour before completion," before pressing the send button.

Meanwhile on The Irised, agents of InterWORD recieved the message and passed it down to Secretary General Director Pentecost who was having a cup of Earl Grey tea while leisurely waiting in the Command Center of the space station. Once she read the text, Kiera turned to a nearby operative and said, "Its time.......send the invitation to all the selected registered and non-registered Inhumans on the list I gave you. Then prepare my private space shuttle for travel back to Earth and inform Agent Collons that we'll be leaving within 15 minutes."

Verigne Mansion - Miami

"ELLIOT!"

Medea's shrill voice echoed throughout the entire house as its mistress emerged from the bedroom, dressed in nothing but her white bathrobe and looking very angry.

"ELLIOT! STOP JERKING OFF AND GET YOUR STUPID ASS OVER HERE!"

A moment ago, Medea had been enjoying a nice relaxing bubble bath, while singing Demi Lovato's Neonlights, when she received an sms from the E.I Director of Human Resources that made her blood turn cold.

"Where is that sonofabitch........ELLIOOOOOOOOT!"

That shrieking voice would have been enough to make his earballs bleed, had he hadn't already been deafened years ago by explosions, gunfire, and yelling. The 38-year-old security coordinator for Miss Medea Cooper had had a rather exciting career up to this point. His Army career had been spent in Airborne units, and culminated with his service in the 75th. Ranger Regiment. After he got tired of killing terrorists for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, he embarked on a private security career and worked for the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro State in Brazil, and that was probably his favorite job to date. By day, he was coordinating operations for PMERJ, and BOPE in particular, and by night, he was destroying many a Braziliana and tearing up the nightlife of Rio.

Now, he was here, walking through the halls of a mansion in Miami, working for a rather crappy, yet gorgeous boss. Instead of wearing a paramilitary outfit and working with BOPE, he was now in a bespoke tailored charcoal suit, with a black tie, while wearing a pair of brown loafers. To be honest, he hated his job, even if he was making double what he made while with PMERJ and the US Army. Medea was a bitch, and the only plus side were here amazing features. So far, he hadn't had an opportunity to have sex with her (unless stated otherwise), and the harpy treated him like complete shit.

Elliot would soon enter the bedroom, and spot the young lady, who was sporting a bathrobe.

Damnit...got here too late...

"Yes ma'am?" he asked politely, his hands behind his back as he stood up straight, waiting for her reply.

"Took you long enough!" hissed Medea as she began drying her long brown hair with a towel. "Get the limo and drive down to the MIA right now. It seems like my mother has decided to pay me a surprise visit so you better hurry. Her plane lands in 10 minutes time. Oh......and a word of advice. Don't flirt with her."

With that, the beautiful but cross-looking brunette turned around swiftly with a "hmph" but not before flinging her hair back hard enough to splash droplets of leftover water onto her bodyguard's face. Then before entering her room, Medea smirked & purposely dropped her bathrobe to the floor, exposing the full curves of her back and the voluptuousness of her ass for a single second to Elliot.

"What a pity he can only watch and not touch," thought the succubus naughtily to herself as she slammed the door behind her and got changed.

Elliot was unsure of whether Medea was just that stunning - or if something else was at play - that made his "Junior Officer" snap to attention as soon as she dropped her robe. Her body was absolutely stunning, and Elliot appreciated the sneak-peak.

When the door slammed shut, he immediately left the room and proceeded to make his way down to the garage, where he procured the Rolls-Royce Phantom II and promptly drove out onto the street, pushing over the speed limit as he sped to the airport. Again, he hated his job, because it didn't just encompass security duties. Medea also forced Elliot to work as her chauffeur, maid, bitch, and he was just hoping that he wouldn't end up as her gimp. He was thinking of turning in his resignation slip soon; she treated him like complete shit, and for someone that had spent a good portion of their life defending her right to be a bitch, he had almost had enough. It would take a miracle for him to change his mind.

He calculated the amount of time it would take her to show up at the airport, and knew that he had more than 10 minutes of time. He arrived there in 11 minutes, and paid a valet to allow him to keep his vehicle parked at the arrivals terminal entrance. After grabbing the sign that they usually used to get her attention with, he would head inside the terminal and stand by the "other" luxury valets, holding the sign as he looked for the bitch he was supposed to pick up.

Aurelia Marcos
New York City, New York

Though she would prefer to be anywhere but London, Aurelia was caught in the middle of a very tedious date when she received a very welcome notification. Her dearest darling uncle, still sullen about her inevitable inheritance of a company he did not believe she should have a right to inherit, had notions about erasing the human blood in his niece through marriage to a nice, manageable elf man. For the longest time she had tolerated his childish refusal to allow her to exist in her own way.

The man in question, Beaumont Beah, was the archetype of the ideal candidate in the eyes of Thomas Tarragon. Handsome - as if her uncle thought physical appeal would sway her. Charming - as ever they were, which was becoming rather tiresome. Respectful - despite knowing her pedigree, which was probably rehearsed beforehand. Almost certainly he was only after her surname, her family, and thus she did not have to care about offending him.

"Well, it's been a pleasure," she said rather abruptly, rising.

Shock flared in his eyes. "Ah - but," he started, clearly stunned at the ease with which she planned to leave his company. Ah, so he was a vain one.

Aurelia smiled at him with painstaking politeness. Her uncle could be given no room to find fault with her. "As I said, a pleasure. Unfortunately, duty calls."

"But," he started to object.

She leaned forward over the table, locking his gaze with hers. A flicker of brilliant fire in her orange optics brought a faint gleam of sweat to his suddenly ashen face. Aurelia compounded the intimidation by brushing her vivid hair behind one ear, revealing the scars remaining of the mutilation of her visible elf heritage. Now his eyes traveled to the exposed ear and he swallowed visibly. The fact that her dress was cut rather low was apparently did not attract the elvish eye as easily as did the sign of her deliberately discarded genetic heritage.

"But what?" Aurelia prompted sweetly. She let her hair cover her ear again. It really wasn't the best accompaniment to a meal, after all.

"C-can we reschedule?" he managed to plow on despite his fascinated revulsion.

She shrugged as she donned her black velvet coat. "Ask my dear Uncle Thomas. Good day, Mr. Beah."

And now, she had far more important matters to attend to than placating her Uncle. She left him behind, stunned and revolted and desperate all in one, without the faintest hint of regret for the nightmares he would quite likely have later.

Seattle, Washington
Jolevier Tash

Jolevier was staring out the window as rain drops splattered on it in one of his usual brooding trances. Though his thoughts were far faster than the normal person. He was playing out scenarios in his head, planning the ascension of his company and the protection of mankind. The industrialist had become something of a benefactor for mankind, staunchly supporting InterWORD's interests. Neither did he full trust them but they were a better lot to throw his chips behind than the Gathering. There were also other factions at play. Elysium, something was inherently wrong with that company but he could not pin point what. Then there was the Blue King, somebody Jolevier had to deal with yet never swore any sort of fealty too. He was his own man who took it as a personal obligation to see to the protection and prosperity of the human race albeit being a unlike the rest. That was not to say he was a bigot towards inhumans either. They just manipulated the course of events of the human world too much. In centuries past these inhumans had always been more powerful. A force that no humans could contend with until their greatest power finally began to catch. Human ingenuity had no limits or peer. Of this Jolevier was convinced.

"Your shuttle is ready Mr. Tash." A secretary said, breaking him from his thoughts. He nodded and made his way to the landing pad at the top of the Tash-Kishuzin headquarters.

A light rain drizzled on his two thousand dollar charcoal gray suit. Today he wore a green and black tie with a white undershirt. It was short distance to the shuttle awaiting.

Arkhaven

The shuttle touched down on the Devaheight building landing pad. He came by himself, armed only with his mind. An escort awaited.

"Mr. Tash?" They asked.

He nodded in reply and was taken down to a waiting room.

Holiday Inn, Arkhaven
Camille Travers

Camille Travers was showering when the phone rang. Startled, she jumped slightly, causing herself to slip on the slick floor and some of the soapy foam piled on top of her head to get into her face- specifically, into her eyes. She quickly weakened the bonds between the shampoo molecules, forming an irritating gas. Shutting her eyes, she went through the gas cloud, exiting the shower, weakening both the hydrogen bonds between the water molecules on her skin and hair and the dipole-induced dipole forces between the water and her body as she did so, which allowed the liquid to easily slide off. Dry, she quickly put a towel around herself and ran to her suitcase, only to discover that she had missed the call. Zut, Camille thought, checking the caller ID. André Leblanc, nosy neighbor- and the only person who could watch a parrot on short notice. She quickly redialed, wondering why her friend couldn't have gotten something inanimate as a belated birthday present, instead of a bird whom she had to really watch her mouth around.

"Allo?" She queried.

An irate voice dispensed with pleasantries, stating that, unfortunately, he'd had to bring Laïte to work and the kids had let her out. He'd managed to get her down from the gym ceiling with a huge amount of crackers, but she had apparently eaten something poisonous, as she was vomiting regularly. At least, that's what the vet had said. Also, he'd been trying to get ahold of her for hours, and WHY HADN'T SHE BEEN ANSWERING HER PHONE?

"Desolée," said the exhausted Camille, "Je l'ai eteint." It wasn't entirely accurate, but she could hardly say that she'd been asleep. As far as M. Leblanc knew, she was still in France, and in France it was the middle of the afternoon. "Je payerai la facture de vétérinaire, et je te rembourserai pour une serrure à combinaison." One couldn't be too careful when it came to that bird.

In a large, crowded bathroom right next to the perimeter, Mlle. Travers removed the nondescript street clothes and scarf which had served to hide her identity. Shaking out her knee-length hair, she pulled it back into a ponytail and pulled what appeared to be an orange-and-pink rock from her pocket. She concentrated briefly, and air rushed in as the bonds holding her costume into that shape broke. Pulling the bodysuit over her head, Camille applied a yellow mask to the mesh covering her face and detangled the attached lavender wig.

Catalyseuse, Paris' resident superheroine, exited the bathroom and approached a guard. Asked to identify herself, she said-
"Ca-Catalyseuse. I have been invited. I am supposed to be on the list."
"Please provide proof that you are who you claim to be."
"Well then, if you please take a sheet of scrap paper and hold it to the front."
As the guard obviously didn't understand Camille's request, she sighed, pointed, and said, "Look that rock there." A quick rearrangement of chemical bonds, and sandstone became crystal-clear quartz. At a nod from the guard, Camille continued. It was a bit of a walk, but protecting large cities like Paris got one into shape quickly. She sprinted, and reached the door without breaking a sweat. Elle est grand, la batiment Devaheight, thought Camille as she entered.
Zut=Darn; Allo is how French people answer the phone.
"Sorry, I turned it off. I'll pay the vet bill and reimburse you for a combination lock."
Catalyseuse is the feminine form of the French word for catalyst.
The Devaheight building is tall.

With his sword in one hand and his SR 22 pistol in the other hand. Da'wane made a hundred 80 degree turn on his heels dropping on one knee he lifted up his pistol to his eyes height. Leading bullets explode from the barrel of a gun each bullet found their target. Each hitting a mechanical drone, as he fired the gun rapidly he jumped up from his stance and slice the first robot in half separating its torso and it's lower body. He was halfway through his clip and already he was on his fourth. Already expired the other 3 pistols and two revolvers.without even realizing it here already 50 mechanical drones at his feet all now barely recognizable by either bullet holes or were slice into pieces. While Da'wane trained the song ether by Nas was playing in the background just to motivate him. He hated being cooped up on" the space station the only thing you enjoy doing on the station is training ". he said to himself as another drone approached him with increasing speed immediately decapitated the drones head of the shoulders and placed his pistol in the center of its chest and unload the rest of the bullets in his clip. Finally noticing that he was being surrounded by the last few robots. immediately he threw his gun at the nearest robot not making any real damage only knocking it back a few inches he grabbed his sword with two hands ripped it down the middle. Splitting the sword vertically down the middle tell it was two single edge blades. As he did so the song changed to overnight by Chamillionaire. hearing the song change Da'wane charged at the two drones directly in front of him only nearing a few feet from his targets he noticed they had shadows and used his ability to shape the shows behind them and have the shadows pierced them in the back as rods. making a baseball slide on his knees he sled past the robots in doing so he cut off their legs with each of those blades making them fall forward creating a shadow in front of them Da'wane had the shadows in front of them create multiple spikes and they went down on them. you could hear them as it fell to the ground and the crunching of the metal as a shadow Pierce through the metallic body. Music paused for a moment with a loud alarm siren replacing it to let him know the session was over. As the music start to play again he was already at the entrance pushing the door open to leave the room behind him the self cleaning program begin to activate cleaning up all the bullet casings and robotic parts from the room to start for the next session. Da'wane made his way to the mens locker room where he took a shower and changed his clothes. Now he was sporting His bulletproof vest with black cargo pants and white boots. He reloaded all his guns and stashed new clips on him self , he received a message from the director saying that he needed to be at the transport shuttles in 15 minutes. he hurried and put the guns in their holster and and bring his sword around and placed it inside the bulletproof vest behind his back. he began to walk out the door. he did so without looking he grabbed his black trench coat that reached down to his ankles replace one arm through and slung the other half over to the left side and place that arm through. He picked out his dark black sunglasses from the inside of the coat and place them on his face feeling like blade he made his way to the docking bay. As he arrived at the correct shuttle the director in a few others waiting for him all of them we're already in a conversation but Da'wane walked up to the director an asked "what's the mission."

Sebastian's fingers danced across his keyboard at top speed, he was writing the coding for an advanced AI. His custom made smartphone phone buzzed so he picked it up and saw the it was a text from interWORD. He sighed and stood up, waving his hand over his desktop, which saved his work to eight separate locations and powered down. Then he walked out of his tech room and into his garage, where he mounted his motor bike and turned the key. He put on a helmet and his favourite pair of fingerless gloves and set off. About an hour of riding later, he was at Arkhaven, the interWORD headquarters. He dismounted the bike and took of his helmet. Walking into the foyer, he strolled up to the secretary and said "InterWORD contacted me, alias Digital Shadow. What do they want?" he knew that the secretary wouldn't know, but he was working on finding out already. Behind his back, he was tapping away on his phone, trying to hack Arkhaven's mainframe. If he could find the where the main server was located he could probably interface with it and get all the info he wanted, but by that time he would already know. Still, always up for a challenge was old Sebastian.

Nichole woke up to a blaring alarm clock.. For most, this wouldn't be anything strange. However, she was pretty sure she didn't own one. "Finally up?" asked a teasing male voice.
Nichole threw up her legs in a quick sweep to the left, where the voice originated. She was rewarded with with a loud THUD caused by a body hitting the ground. She looked to see her results and saw her coworker,Michael Ventri, staring up at her in pain and shock. "Can you give me a warning next time?"
Ignoring that she looked around. Seemingly reading her mind, Michael explained why she wasn't in her room. "Nothing happened. You got a little drunk last night. There was no way I could get you to your house; you never told' me where it was. Instead, I put you here and slept in the livingroom. No idea why you don't seem to have a hangover....."
"How valiant of you. But please, next timfe, leave anote."Michael laughed openly at that.
"Come on sleepyhead, grab a coffee, we have work."
Three hours later she got a call, her boss wanted to see her.
I've read your Sig! I've read your soul

Camille blinked as she entered the very, very blue waiting room. Le décorateur doit avoir vraiment aimé le bleu, she thought. That was perhaps an understatement. Cobalt chairs, pale ultramarine cushions, walls in several shades of pale cerulean... about the only thing in the room which wasn't blue was the man in a well-fitted suit the same shade of gray as blended charcoal. The green in his tie was in striking contrast to his surroundings. She approached, tentatively at first, then more confidently as she remembered her costume and consequent anonymity. She didn't know what they'd talk about, but it looked like it might end up being a long wait. Crossing the room, she sat in a chair separated from that of Jolevier Tash by one other chair.

"Hello. I am Catalyseuse. How do you call yourself, if that would not you upset to me tell?"

The decorator must have really liked blue.

Jolevier Tash

Jolevier was sitting cross legged watching the second hand on his white gold Rolex tick. He was a bit irked this was taking so long. His time was valuable and Director Pentecost should have been sensitive to that out of all people. Jolevier was InterWORD's most valuable ally in the business world. When this, Catalyseuse walked in Jolevier rose from his seat and did not appear to be at all taken aback from the mask. Many inhumans and meta humans liked to hide their identities these days. He kept himself right in the open and was surprised she did not know him. Task-Kishuzin does have some banking branches in Paris. Perhaps it was because Catalyseuse was French, as he could tell from her accent.

"Jolevier Tash, but people call me Jolly." He said holding out his hand with a smile in his usual polite manner.

Hova 12 - Undisclosed Location

"Alert!...Somebody is attempting to hack into the DH Mainframe!" said a blue-arrayed operator, running her fingers furiously across her dashboard. "Attempting Prevention, Secure & Tracking protocol. Intruder's location will be pinpointed in 20 seconds."

"Got it!" shouted another operator from across the room but not before smirking at his fellow co-worker first. "Signal is coming from the lobby of the building......notifying Commander Hanz and her blue boys right now."

Devaheight Building - Lobby

The secretary checked her writing pad for a moment and was about to reply to Digital Shadow's question when the wireless bluetooth in her ear beeped and stopped her shortly. Pausing to hear the new directives, the secretary said, "Yes maam...understood," before standing up from her seat and turning her attention to the man before her.

"Sir, I politely ask you to cease all hacking activities and surrender your technological items to me for now. Its against the law to hack into a government sponsored security system as I'm sure you know full well."

While her left hand reached out & indicated to the stranger to give her his phone, her right hand was placed gently onto the grip of her holstered handgun, preparing to use lethal force if necessary.

At the same time, a company of blue soldiers exited the elevator and walked towards the two guests residing within the waiting room.

One of them obviously in-charge saluted stiffly to both Camille and Jolly before saying, "Apologies for the wait lady and gentleman, but if you will follow me now I'll take you two to the conference hall. Commander Victoria Hanz is expecting you."

Director Pentecost lifted her pale blue eyes from the romance novel she was reading and raised an eyebrow at Da'wane. The agent had addressed her rudely without the standard military formality all agents within InterWORD were trained to used towards their superior officers.

"......sit down Agent Da'wane and don't forget your code of conduct the next time you want to address your superiors," Kiera responded calmly but coldly as she returned to her novel. "We're attending a very important meeting down in Arkhaven......thats all you need to know for now."

As soon as Dr. Robert entered the shuttle with her usual equipments, the doors behind her shut closed and the engines ignited automatically, preparing the small ship for orbital take-off down to earth.

Sebastian gave his trademark half smile and tossed his phone to the secretary. "Sorry about that. Where's the meeting being held?" He didn't need the phone to hack, he could literally meld his mind with the computer and get what he needed, but he decided to leave off for the moment.

Camille was directed to sit near a blonde with a slight frown, a uniform both unfamiliar and distinctive, and straightened hair over half the length of her own. Leaning over, she repeated the question which she had originally directed at Monsieur Tash.

"Hello, I am Catalyseuse. How do you call yourself, if that would not you upset to me tell?" She would have attempted to be more formal had she known just whom she was speaking to, but as she had never before met any higher-ups from InterWORD and lacked an ability which could have revealed her identity, she didn't realize that she was speaking to someone important, much less to the director.

The ship tok off a little too suddenly for Nichole. "Shit. They need to make that a little less sudden before I shit myself", she grumbled to herself.

"Jolevier Tash." He replied to her with a warm smile. "But people call me Jolly."

Taking a seat, he looked her over. "So what's so special about you?" He inquired.

Camille found the delay in reply odd- it had been several minutes since their conversation had been interrupted- but concluded that M. Tash likely had a good memory, perhaps even paranormally good. He was after all attending the meeting. Fortunately, Madeleine had been able to provide a short first-person english description of Camille's abilities on short notice, and she'd managed to find a private place out of earshot of a certain bird to practice. It was this that she now recited.

"I have the ability to sense, rearrange, alter, and draw energy from bonds between atoms and molecules." She pointed at a pencil in front of him- "Look your pencil-" and focused. The pencil, without changing composition, combusting, or changing temperature, became liquid.

Jolevier watched the pencil change, impressed. He touched the pencil and inspected it. InterWORD obviously could not overlook such a talent. Most likely Catalyseuse could do the same to people just as easy. That would make her a very effective killer. A series of possible technological counters went through Jolevier's mind for sport in a the following seconds. Though he concluded he would be able to think of nothing effective until he truly understood the power.

"Interesting." He remarked. How useful that power would be for his company. But from what he could tell of Catalyseuse, she was not in it for the money so he withheld an employment offer. But Jolevier still wondered how much TKC would save on materials cost with her help.

"I can imagine how useful that may be." Jolevier added, and he could imagine a lot.

Camille smiled. "Yes, this is."
She raised an eyebrow.
"Well then, you are in this room also." Scrunching up her face, she repeated Jolevier's previous question. "What's so special about you?"

Walking in on the very interesting conversation the two people were having in the unnatural blue room. Da'wane was a bit angry about the way the director treats him when she's not that much older. "If she wants people to treat her with military manner then look and act the part. Romantic books really no body will see you as a authority figure, that's like me having toy weapons and asking to fight gang bosses." He thought to him self. Walking to a seat he reflected on everything from the touchdown. Which was more pleasant than the ride to the building. A car full of deadly woman makes for a nice ride. One reading a book, another looking like out of place school girl, and the last one looking actual normal person. Knowing if he said a word they would kill him on the spot each was deadly in their own way. See the masked person raised alarms and warnings off in his head but looking more at the body over jumpsuit he noticed the person was female. Instantly he took the seat next to the man wearing the expensive business suit looking prefect as he had the answer for everything. The director and other agents took their seats. Leaning back in his seat arms crossed against his chest making him feel the cold metal from the bullet proof vest. From behind his shades he looked at the masked woman then at the man next to him. Speaking openly and addressing everyone in the room he said " lovely weather were having and how's everybody's day been going."

Jolevier Tash

Jolevier just smiled at her again and looked away. Pacing back and forth, he had his hands in his pockets trying to figure out how to answer her question. Not that it was any big secret. Some people criticized Jolevier, saying that the use of his mental powers in the business world was unfair. With all the unprecedented gains in profits and advancement of technology TKC had accomplished, who could blame his competitors? But he took care to show his true humanitarian side, giving to charity, researching in the medical field, and supporting InterWORD.

"I...understand the world better than most I suppose." Jolevier replied vaguely. "Do you consider that special? My company is one of InterWORD's prime benefactors. You could also say I have a stake in their success for...personal reasons."
