Assuredly. You could send him Divinity, which he could convert into XP to get him better rolls on the skill checks he wants to use.

The process that took you from the first obelisk to the second was a roll against your innate essence of the spark, represented by your ability to perform magic. Even as you failed the tests to see if you were transported elsewhere, you gained magician experience, for on an unrealized level your Champion's magical nature was involved in the process.

Kinda like how I occasionally make an observation test, like in the most recent post, and regardless of whether or not you pass it you still gain experience.
