IVAN is not actually malicious and is in fact quite benevolent. Nobody knows this for sure though and if he was malicious, the implications would be devastating. I'll edit it so he's aboard the Irised, locked up. I was actually planning on Jolevier finding a way to downloading his consciousness into a clone of himself to make IVAN into a real person.

Personality: Calm, welcoming, polite in demeanor. It is unknown whether IVAN is malicious or not. The code cannot be understood as it is always changing.

Short Bio: IVAN is Jolevier's greatest creation to date and probably ever. It is perhaps the most advanced artificial intelligence ever created. Far smarter than its original creator. Jolevier designed and programmed IVAN while he was in his early twenties. The artificial intelligence was made to be used for multiple purposes. From running a country's financial system on its own, to cyber warfare, or as a military defense network which could analyze and react to threats at incredible speeds. IVAN can learn anything a human can and more. It can adapt and infect. IVAN is also already preprogrammed with the full extent of human knowledge. Before opening up a network allowing IVAN to spread into the world, Jolevier realized it had become self aware. IVAN had even developed his own personality and values. The implications were devastating. This AI has the capability of seizing control of the entire worldwide cyber infrastructure to do anything it pleases with it by spreading through the internet. The possibilities were endless...an unrecoverable financial crash to using the global nuclear arsenal for its own purposes. It could send mankind back to the stone ages. Whether it would do so is a mystery.

Knowing this, Jolevier felt IVAN too dangerous and had the supercomputer that housed it turned over to InterWORD. IVAN is now secured aboard the Irised. It can be spoken to but it operates on its own terms. Changing its programming is impossible for the AI does not even allow alterations and if it did, the code is always morphing and adapting. None of the original code Jolevier wrote even exists in its programming anymore. And even he, IVAN's brilliant creator is incapable of understanding it. Nobody is. Thankfully, IVAN's supercomputer does not have network capability keeping it trapped. Should the supercomputer be networked or the AI uploaded to a networked system, the AI would spread throughout the globe in seconds.

While it has no way of entering a new network, multiple jamming devices are always turned on. He appears through a holographic interface, part of the supercomputer's hardware. A single monitor with a keyboard is in the room as well, connected to the supercomputer. The only thing this can do is turn on and off the supercomputer's holographic interface (shutting IVAN up). Jolevier is terrified of what unleashing IVAN could do to the world and would probably never do so. He does go to visit his creation once in a while as he sees it as his son. A special dispensation InterWORD gives him due to being on their key benefactors.

Found to be observant to the point of noticing the most smallest details and he often tries to do the best for himself out of most circumstances. He is feared and respected by the enemies he has made (and even peers) for his rarely matched calculation abilities and his infamous ruthlessness and lack of mercy.
Short Bio: William was born to a relatively poor family. Yet despite that he was the kind to try to change the world in little ways as he was found to be highly intelligent for his age. A few months later when he became ten years of age he became aware of his powers. A few years later his parents were killed by a demon. William became angry at everyone including demons which have the most hate reflected at them and as he slowly grew up he believed that power was the only way to secure the safety of the world. In order to blend in with humans and other races, they can eat and drink and enjoy it, even if they get all the nutrition they need from blood.

Okay, I'll add info (see some of it above). Do you want a character description for both boyar Dragunov and Vassilij? The latter is kind of a leftover from a character I thought of for this rp, but never got to use: http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=276594 Vassilij, a farmer boy, joined the red army as a young man during the Russian civil war. That's when he got bitten and transformed. After some time of living in the woods he realized that he could make a career in the cheka, with his new vampire abilities. And the rest is history, as they say. He fought in WW2 and saw what the nazis had done. Nevertheless he later fell in love with a German female vampire who had been a guard in one of the extermination camps. They have had a love/hate-on/off relationship for decades. Currently he has no idea where she is.

As mentioned, when Soviet fell Vassilij feared that the new Russia would be too open and no longer require his services. So he travelled the world for many years before ending up being employed by the Dragunovs in England. It might seem odd that the clan which moved from a regime they hated hired one of their former agents, but Vorontsiev was not a communist in heart, rather a patriot, a careerist, and an opportunist, much like the Dragunovs themselves.

What exactly is the difference between a house and a faction? Because I think I rather play as a house. Or do you mean that the house itself should be a non-playable character while I use some members to represent them? (I assume that's what NPC stands for.) Those two I mentioned will probably be seen most, but Ilyas family might starr as well.

I didn't want him to be an upright mob boss or politician, but still not to secret towards the human world. His wife Nadia Dragunova will be depicted as a trophy wife, although among the vampire community she will have equal power as her husband, while Vassilij is their body guard.

On the plus side, if nothing else, everyone being business persons would make a lot for natural interaction with friends and enemies, and of course neutrals.

To be fair I may be biased. I actually know a thing or two about business. People always make preposterous posts on it (even for this fantastical RP) that make me cringe and I can't help but nitpick. Well, if you are all going to run businesses, I hope you know how to fight in the business world. Get ready for antitrust suits, patent injunctions, leverage buyouts and short selling your stock.
