Prelude

In the year 2010, an uncontrollable evolution of science and technology has caused crime rates to rise to an astounding 200%. A new race of genetically evolved & bio-augmented human beings, are making use of their various ESPer-like abilities to commit genocide, murder & robbery all in the name of money and ego. Other "Inhumans"...those of the magical & supernatural side are also beginning to surface and make themselves known to the ordinary world.

Faced by these potential threats, the United Nations sanctioned the forming of The International World Observation & Response Division or InterW.O.R.D. All agents of InterWORD were assigned to hunt down and uncover the presence of various empowered individuals within multiple countries. Those who were found & captured had to register themselves into the Database for Inhuman Citizens (DIC) and their identities made known to the higher ups of the government before they could lead a life among ordinary society. The ones who refused to do so were either incarcerated for life or simply executed in cold-blood depending on how dangerous they could become.

For the next four years, InterWORD's Secret War began attracting the attention of other hidden factions, groups, syndicates & rogue agencies who wanted a piece of the action. Terrorists cells began recruiting Inhuman personal to do the dirty work for them and multinational corporations began to hire empowered mercenaries to take out the competition, protect their assets and overall themselves. Behind the scenes, intellectually-twisted criminal masterminds turned the war into a contest for world domination. The Great Game had begun and the ultimate winner will be the one who will destroy civilisation from its very foundations and rebuild it in his/her own image.

Thus, the government found themselves fighting a new & deadlier class of villains......one that were willing to do what it takes to set the world on fire.

The leaders of the United Nations knew that they needed another more compatible armor-of-the-law to deal with these adversaries. So in desperation, they turned to the very species they had persecuted for help. Secretary General Kiera Pentecost of the U.N and the Director of InterW.O.R.D has called a meeting for various Inhumans all around the world she knows she will need in order to form a new league of heroes.

So the question now is.....will you fight on the side of the angels?....or take part in the schemes of The Devil......your choice.





Annyeong everybody! and welcome to a revamp of my first RP for the year 2014. :lol:

The FL Universe will be taking place in our current timeline of course and the setting will revolve around the city of Arkhaven mostly. As of now there is no current plot nor storyline but I do have a main archvillain prepared if this goes long-term. In this arc we'll start off with casual introductions & character build up before moving onto the conflicts, rivalry and intense battles that are to come. I want most of you to become familiar to the environment I've created first and allow you all to decide how your chars will be and what kind of personality or behaviour you'll be going with as the story proceeds. This is not necessarily a superhero/villain RP but more like how life could have been in a world where magic exists and that there are people with powers you only read about in comic books or watch on tv shows.

Below are listed the main factions that have been established for this arc...

The International World Observation & Response Division/InterW.O.R.D

The only known security agency that has access to every government database around the world. InterWORD is funded directly from the Five Great Powers (U.S.A, China, Russia, England, France) and ex-operatives from MI6, CIA, KGB, MSS & Interpol can be found working for them. various multi-billion corporations supply them high-tech equipments & armaments to deal with their more powerful enemies/victims & they are the only intelligence department allowed to have Inhumans as spies & field agents.


The Gathering


A secret society of Inhumans led by the immortal elven, faerie, human & dwarven lords & ladies of The Seven Houses. They are mainly based around England and have been in existence since the Medieval period. In this modern era though, they are all but a myth and they plan to keep it that way. The Gathering are dedicated in protecting the rights of their kindred and most if not all are politicians who hold important positions within their countries' government and/or are entrepreneurs with influential businesses around the world.


Invigilance

A pseudo cyber-terrorist cult dedicated to global domination. Nobody, not even The Gathering nor InterWORD knows the exact extent of their network nor do they know who is really in-charge. All wanted criminals, mafia families & other crime syndicates world wide have dealings with Invigilance. There is barely a single major crime inwhich they are not involved in.


Elysium International


The demonic corporation whose true purpose is the ruining, corrupting & trading of innocent souls. They work for The Devil of course but representing him as the face of the company is the young & beautiful CEO Medea Cooper (a.k.a Bathsheba). E.I is a conglomerate business that has been around since the roaring 20's. They are currently the leading industry in bio-augmentations and cybernetics, being the very first ones to introduce it in the first place. Besides doing business in the private scientific R&D sector they also have a forefront in the entertainment categories (mainly music/recording & the porn/sex industry) secretly owning numerous famous singers, politicians & people who have made deals with Satan Himself to be what they are today. Elysium is also the ones behind the financing & supplying of the crime syndicate called Invigilance but there is no material evidence to prove it yet. In their HQ building of Arkhaven lies the one & only portal from Hell to Earth and back again.


The Sceptre


A collective group of six kings who have each been gifted with special unique powers by the Queen of Heaven herself in order to maintain balance on the Earth. The Sceptre are the true rulers of the world although nowadays they don't get involve in its affairs very much. Each of them are differentiated by the colors of their own banners.

The Blue King and Hova 12 (or the Blue Clan) has jurisdiction over both North & South America.

The Purple King and the organisation BETA (Purple Clan) operates in the continent of Europe.

The Red King and the Red Church (Red Clan) resides in Russia.

The Yellow King and his Dragon Society (Yellow Clan) in China and most of Asia.

The Green King and the Green Clan in the middle-east.

The Black King and the Black Clan in the African continent.

Each of them holds the highest influence within the political world of their own individual territories and the Kings have direct connections to Presidents, Prime Ministers & other real-life politicians & businessmen. Their identities and existence are of course a deep secret, and very few people have met them in person. Naturally, The Sceptre has power over the United Nations which means some sphere of control over InterWORD as well. All six of them however have taken vows not to interfere or use their various abilities to manipulate world events unless they have absolutely no choice.


All factions excluding Invigilance & The Sceptre are usable. You can create your own of course but for now I'll be placing a limit on how many neutral and villain factions can be created.

The Seven Houses will play an essential role to the entire founding structure of the FL Universe. So feel free to create an app for any one of them. They don't necessarily have to always be Elves, Dwarves & Faeries you know. But of course I want you guys to use ONLY those races that have already been established within classic folklore or fairytales, not create your own species. Also...one of each, meaning I don't want to see two Elvish Houses or Two Dwarvish ones at the same time.

Once a House have been created for a certain species (e.g: elves) no other house/clan/society/group of that particular species can be more influential and powerful than that one......with the exception that it is a criminal faction of course which would then depend.

  • Clansmen of each King within The Sceptre have Pyrokinesis but of different colors depending on which king they serve. (E.g: Inhumans within the Red Church and serving the Red King wield the power to generate auras of red fire which is undoubtedly stronger than ordinary ones). Also.....The Sceptre has not had a meeting for over 30 years and as such, relations between the Six Kings have grown stale. Now they view each other as rivals and in order for members of their clan to cross over their individual territories, permission must be seeked out and granted first.

  • All elves and elven factions no matter how powerful or influential they are still answer to High Queen Nienor and the members of the royal House Anvylia. As one of the Seven Houses, House Anvylia is still considered the most important & powerful family within the ancient magical underworld of supernatural beings and their word even in this modern age is considered law. Many Inhumans within The Gathering pay their respects to them and a majority of the elves can truly claim kinship with members of House Anvylia. Even the higher ups of InterWORD would think twice then to cross their path.

  • On the black market there is already a long list of illegal super weaponry that are available for sale. That includes bio-augmentations, cybernetic implants, exoskeletons etc.....some of which InterW.O.R.D don't even possess or know off. But please keep in mind that most of these black market items could be considered outdated and obsolete although they can be still efficient and lethal in their own way.

  • A highly addictive illegal drug called Rapture has become popular among the teens of today. It enhances the neural nodes of the human brain to its peak maximum making its users become highly intelligent/observant and enable them to see things no normal being can see sometimes. Continous usage will eventually lead to an extreme change in the victim's behaviour, attitude and overall mental state. Users will become highly unstable with constant mood changes every hour and a thirst to commit violence. Ultimately they'll end up becoming nothing more then feral beasts stripped off of everything but their basic instincts.

  • InterW.O.R.D's main HQ is within a hovering space habitat called The Irised which can only be accessed by certain VIPs and agents with clearance Level 4-6. There are multiple scanners and cameras within the shuttles linked to the Irised's systems as to ensure that no other person can sneak onboard a shuttle. All space shuttle stations on Earth are under InterW.O.R.D security/maintenance. Shuttles can land almost anywhere but must dock and depart from a shuttle station before going to the Irised. All agents authorized to go to the Irised have their own personalized code clearances. Any aircraft that is headed on an unsanctioned course towards The Irised will be shot down after being issued two warnings. Irised defense systems have multiple high tech scanners to detect any unwanted presence (intruders, bombs, whatever...) aboard a shuttle. Pretty much, sneaking onto the Irised or smuggling something onto it is very difficult.

  • Felhurst Asylum......a man-made island serving as a maximum prison facility along the Eastern Coast of the U.S that contains the most dangerous and vile super-powered criminals in the world. No ordinary civilian, not even a superpowered one, is allowed to go in there without authorization from the Secretary General herself and an Inhuman or superpowered chaperone assigned to guide and guard them. The asylum contains the most dangerous scum of the Earth as well as a majority of the SCPs that can't be controlled.

  • Arkhaven City is currently experiencing unexplainable supernatural phenomenons. For weeks, dark clouds have tainted the skies with the rumbling of thunder & flashes of lightning but no rain. The marble eyes, ears & mouths of blessed statues within Catholic Churches are bleeding every midnight. Crosses & crucifixes have been found crooked, twisted or hanging upside down in their places. Hospitalised and imprisoned victims of the drug Rapture are screaming out streams of gibberish latin words for no reason and some are even biting & eating the flesh of their own arms in terror. Renowned clergymen such as Archbishop Fernandas and famed exorcist, Father David Peterson, both suddenly combusted in blue flames while attending a public charity event. At the same time, evil spirits, hobgoblins and demonic creatures that would usually remain hidden from the naked eye are suddenly revealing their true forms to ordinary society. InterWORD is slightly dumbfounded by all of this frightening reports and only members of The Gathering realise what these signs mean.

  • Satan has mysteriously disappeared from his realm of Gehenna and nobody, not even his own wife knows where he has gone to exactly (though they can easily guess). Thus, without their God to control them, the demons are beginning to become restless and a Civil War between the Seven Archdemons of Hell is about to break loose as each one of them are vying to become the next Prime Evil.

Personality Mr. Graves conducts himself with professional and tact while on the job. He seems to be a very intelligent, yet rather friendly man, with rather impeccable manners. Short Bio: Born in Durham, North Carolina, as the son of two professors at Duke University Law School, Graves grew up in a comfortable environment, where he was subjected to the facets of Southern Gentlemanhood. Jolevier Tash has a significant interest in the continued survival of InterWORD and the UN. He would also like to see Elysium International toppled.

He is rather secretive yet very cynical and sarcastic. He does have a show off streak and will do almost anything to show people what he can do.

Short Bio:  Sebastian was born in the back streets of London and abandoned almost as soon as he was born. He was found by an orphanage owner and given the name ‘Sebastian’. Outwardly, he lived a normal life but at night he joined in with the city’s underbelly. He soon learnt that he could interface with technology, control electricity and that he was faster, stronger, better than his peers. That, combined with the informal combat lessons he had received from many street fights meant that he was soon quite a formidable opponent. When he turned 18, he became a hacker for hire, one of the best in the business. With his powers, he didn’t need to work, he could get all the money he wanted, but he hacked for fun more than anything else.

-Enhanced Inventing: Mostly used in the form of improvised weapons and unorthodox and strange nano bot based medicines and temporary enhancement serums.

Weaknesses:
-Peak Condition Weaknesses: Can easily be overpowered by anyone of enhanced condition or supernatural condition. Using anything above 50% muscle mass is very dangerous and can cause damage to bones, ligaments and blood vessels due to the body not being able to handle the pressure from weights or impacts. Conventional medicines only work 30% as effectively due to his enhanced immune system rejecting the foreign substance too quickly so will require more advanced and potent drugs that are no where near as common or cheap as conventional medicines.
-Enhanced Inventing Weaknesses: Enhanced Inventing is totally reliant on resources that are available to him and if there are insufficient resources, this ability is useless.
-Medical Intuition Weaknesses: This is also reliant on resources available to perform more advanced medical procedures or make certain medical equipment or drugs. Whilst he can create any drugs, these are only an enhanced version of their market counterparts and in no way provide something that isn't already invented yet. Like a cure for cancer or a immortality serum.
Personality A cold and calculating individual with a deep hatred of large corporations due to their money hungry agendas and total disregard for the welfare and life of anyone but themselves and money. He feels no hate or love for the people he kills even though some are deserving of death and others are not.
Short Bio: Discovered by InterW.O.R.D agents in a cryo chamber over 5 years ago and taken back to the HQ for further investigation. He appeared to have reacted indifferently to being unfrozen and wasn't in any sort of shock or even shivering when he woke up. They learnt very little about the figure except for the tattoo on his right arm that said "Subject 12 - Sector R1C0" which really didn't mean much to any of the researchers. They later found out after more questions that he was 23 years of age though has no memories of his name nor many of the events before he was frozen. He later adopted the name of Rico from researchers and agents that regularly visited him. Blood tests revealed one of the most unique genetic codes they had seen and his DNA was seen to be "Perfect" by InterW.O.R.D researcher standards though the discovery of this powerful genetic information that Rico had quickly gone down wind to the other major factions that desired to capture Rico for their own personal use.

Not long after, cyber attacks directed towards the facility that held Rico were frequent as well as intruders from other factions. Eventually, Rico was later to be found out as the target for all these attacks and they were forced to place him in the highest security holding cell in the facility. For 3 months, Rico lived in forced isolation with no privacy. He had no freedom and he longed to be free again. Eventually, that moment came when an attack on the facility resulted in Rico escaping out into the world where he was hunted by many factions and corporations to this day. He later found himself in Arkhaven where he bough an old bunker and made his home and base of operations there, working as a Mercenary, Assassin and Bounty Hunter just to survive, constantly aware and paranoid of someone following him.

Personality Mr. Graves conducts himself with professional and tact while on the job. He seems to be a very intelligent, yet rather friendly man, with rather impeccable manners. When confronted, offended, or otherwise, he can become an intimidating, mean guy, capable of snapping instantly from a friendly, easy-going professional and into a mean prick.
Short Bio: Born in Durham, North Carolina, as the son of two professors at Duke University Law School, Graves grew up in a comfortable environment, where he was subjected to the facets of Southern Gentlemanhood. Throughout his youth, he was an avid competitive swimmer, competing in many national swimming championships. When he came of age, he acquired an Army ROTC Scholarship at Norwich University, the nation's oldest senior military college. Cadet Graves would become a well-respected Cadet leader on campus, earning the opportunity to attend military interactions and Army specialty schools, such as Airborne, Air Assault, and Mountain Warfare.

Short Bio: IVAN is Jolevier's greatest creation to date and probably ever. It is perhaps the most advanced artificial intelligence ever created. Far smarter than its original creator. Jolevier designed and programmed IVAN while he was young. The artificial intelligence was made to be used for multiple purposes. From running a country's financial system on its own, to cyber warfare, or as a military defense network which could analyze and react to threats at incredible speeds. IVAN can learn anything a human can and more. It can adapt and infect. IVAN is also already preprogrammed with the full extent of human knowledge. Before opening up a network allowing IVAN to spread into the world, Jolevier realized it had become self aware. IVAN had even developed his own personality and values. The implications were devastating. This AI has the capability of seizing control of the entire worldwide cyber infrastructure to do anything it pleases with it by spreading through the internet. The possibilities were endless...an unrecoverable financial crash to using the global nuclear arsenal for its own purposes. It could send mankind back to the stone ages. Whether it would do so is a mystery.

Knowing this, Jolevier felt IVAN too dangerous and had the supercomputer that housed it locked away. The location, only known to him. IVAN can be spoken to but it operates on its own terms. Changing its programming is impossible for the AI does not even allow alterations and if it did, the code is always morphing and adapting. None of the original code Jolevier wrote even exists in its programming anymore. And even he, IVAN's brilliant creator is incapable of understanding it. Nobody is. Thankfully, IVAN's supercomputer does not have network capability keeping it trapped. Should the supercomputer be networked or the AI uploaded to a networked system, the AI would spread throughout the globe in seconds.

Currently IVAN's supercomputer (shaped as a sphere, two meters in diameter) is being housed in an underground bunker with the location only known to Jolevier. While it has not way of entering a new network, multiple jamming devices are always turned on. He appears through a holographic interface, part of the supercomputer's hardware. A single monitor with a keyboard is in the room as well, connected to the supercomputer. The only thing this can do is turn on and off the supercomputer's holographic interface (shutting IVAN up). Jolevier is terrified of what unleashing IVAN could do to the world and would probably never do so. He does go to visit his creation once in a while as he sees it as his son.

If its all going to be around one city I think you don't need it. Keep the players in one area. But it'd be good to have some kind of impregnable safe zone like the Irised for the InterWORD agents. 50/50.

Powers: Technopathy, electricity manipulation, enhanced condition.

Weaknesses: Can't work his technopathy/electricity manipulation underwater, can't interface with old technology, is not superhuman in terms of speed, strength etc.  he is only slightly better than his peers.

Personality He can be quite reclusive, often withdrawing into his ‘base’ for months on end, only coming out if the opportunity for good employment comes up. He is rather secretive yet very cynical and sarcastic. He does have a show off streak and will do almost anything to show people what he can do.

Short Bio:  Sebastian was born in the back streets of London and abandoned almost as soon as he was born. He was found by an orphanage owner and given the name ‘Sebastian’. Outwardly, he lived a normal life but at night he joined in with the city’s underbelly. He soon learnt that he could interface with technology, control electricity and that he was faster, stronger, better than his peers. That, combined with the informal combat lessons he had received from many street fights meant that he was soon quite a formidable opponent. When he turned 18, he became a hacker for hire, one of the best in the business. With his powers, he didn’t need to work, he could get all the money he wanted, but he hacked for fun more than anything else.
