[Holy Empire of Avalon]

In a base underground several teams were working in each of their own labs to build the perfect weapons. Each with their own projects in mind, the projects were respectively named EVE, ADAM, and LILITH.
Lilith was the bridge between humanity and machine, beneath her human exterior she held prototype weapons and enhancements to create the perfect soldier. With the Organs of a human being she was the first of her kind made, if an EMP killed the machine in her mind she would still be able to fight, if any other variable harmed her human parts she would still be able to fight. This machine was nigh unstoppable it appeared.
In the next lab over there were preliminary tests being ran on rats called the SS Program, intended to be used on the Elite Soldiers of the Order, so far all testing had proved true, in a few months to a years time they would be ready to work on human test subjects, they already had one in mind. He was a average boy named Robert Reagan, the boy was regular in school and athletics, the only place he excelled was fighting; every match he fought in he did not give up until someone gave in or passed out. Unfortunately it was usually him that was sent to the hospital after being beaten into a near coma.

Dr. David Knicely was slumped over his computer. On screen was the plan for Eve-1, "Maria", the first of her kind. She was only to be known as Maria in his mind, but he needed to clarify the differences in appearance that other two would have. He was asleep on the computer. If someone was to check security it would be seen that he never left. He had worked tirelessly on his creation all night, and now she was nearly complete. Activation would be scheduled for tomorrow. Right now he dreamed of what was to be...

Lilith walked into the room, her white hair flowing behind her, she looked rather Frankenstein with all the wires protruding from the sides of her head and along her back. "Hello Doctor Knicely, how is EVE-1 coming along?" Her head was directly over his shoulder now as she inspected both EVE-1 and the blueprints of her.

Dr. Knicely woke up and turned around, shocked at the cybernetic construct behind him. For a moments he was quite noticeably shaken.

"Oohh, Lilith. Uhh... I—I didn't know that you were active. You—you—surprised me. EVE-1 is mostly done. I should be able to finish her today. I see you're coming along pretty well. When will you be fully operational?" he asked, regaining his composure, managing a weak smile, and noticing the exposed wires. Still she was active before his first creation, but he might be finished completely first.

Lilith smiled and patted the Doctor on the shoulder, "When you get a spare moment you should come out of the lab, those Super Mice are pretty fun to watch."

"I killed her didn't I? I am a murderer!" And then the crying... She isn't what the Order wants. She is just a girl in a cybernetic body.

"Lilith, you can't cry in front of the others. They'll ask you to do bad things. If they know how you feel they'll destroy you."

Why did I say that?

Lilith accidentally knocked Maria's arm off, "Oh no, I broke her, no not my little sister!" Lilith was almost in tears as she hugged the little android, "I killed her didn't I? I am a murder!" The cybernetic girl burst into tears.

"No, please don't cry. I haven't finished the cybernetic connections yet. Think of it like puzzle pieces. They fit together and look good, but I haven't superglued it together," David offered. He was shocked by the girl's actions.

"I killed her didn't I? I am a murderer!" And then the crying... She isn't what the Order wants. She is just a girl in a cybernetic body.

"Lilith, you can't cry in front of the others. They'll ask you to do bad things. If they know how you feel they'll destroy you."

Why did I say that?

"I know... but I can't help it, I am only human." She kissed Maria's cheek, "She looks so cute, are we all really intended to be weapons of war? Even him?" Lilith threw down a file, it was on the chosen subject of the SS Program. "Doctor, I know the Supers are well Super Powerful, but look at him; he is just a boy, I don't even think he has kissed a girl yet and they wish to send him off to war? Worse is that they have him brainwashed into thinking this is God's Plan, that the big man above wants this boy to lay his life on the line and turn into some kind of monster." Lilith looked at herself, "I was already a monster, I was a girl so interested in machines that I became one..." She pointed at EVE-1 and the file beside her, "Please, if they shut me down and seal me away, watch over them."

"I will try my best. Lilith... you perplex me. How much of you survived? I wasn't aware... I always thought it unethical... but I didn't realise how horrible it really was. Did they claim you when they were still alive...? Then, there is the boy. Jel, help me, this is evil. There has to be a better way to deal with our enemy. Why must we kill innocent to defeat the enemy? You are all too be tools of war or espionage. The EVEs won't be combative, thank Jel. They will be able to fight, but they will mainly be for intelligence, but you will. Lillith, don't let them find out about this. This discussion, your humanity, and my doubts could destroy you, Dr. Light, and me. I'll keep this too myself, and you can visit me, but don't act suspicious, don't show what the Order doesn't want or expect, and never trust an Abhuman," Doctor Knicely said seriously. He knew that the surveillance did not include audio, but knew it would be unsafe for him to hug her, even if that was what he truly wanted to do.

"She has asked much about her guardians. Do we have a pair of officers to act as guardians for her? She has performed excellently. In fact, she has preformed just the way you would want your own daughter to act. EVE-1 has all the ambition, loyalty, and other traits that a general would want his daughter to express, but don't take it from me. Make your own conclusions."

She smiled, "Thanks Doctor, look after him," she nodded at the file, "Call it love at first sight or woman's intuition, but I sense something about that boy." She used her area software to scan her environment, "They are coming in to check on EVE-1, using my scrambler I am picking up that they already see problems with the EVE-1 and wish to design and EVE-2 already... Unless we do this of course." Lilith grinned unplugging a cord from her head and putting it right into the base of EVE-1's neck. "I won't tell if you don't, sorry if this ruins any plan you had." EVE-1 began to load up all of Lilith's data, the little girl sat up and began piecing herself together. "If they ask I was not here." "If we keep the amount small and them under control we shan't have to worry. Though this is slightly distressing. EVE isn't really a combat design. Why would we design them to look like children if they are to weapons? I can see that if we wanted them to be able to apprehend those that we send them against, but for straight combat why would you want EVE if you could have Lilith?" He asked rather seriously. He did not want to see his creations in the role of soldier.

"They mean to send me to battle?" the girl asked quietly. "I'm sure I am up to the task."

"Please be quiet, Maria," he quickly answered.

We will present them both and see just how great this SS Program is, I hear they tested it on mice and supposedly the rodent's could defeat whole swarms of regular mice for a chunk of cheese."

We will present them both and see just how great this SS Program is, I hear they tested it on mice and supposedly the rodent's could defeat whole swarms of regular mice for a chunk of cheese."

"Alright. I'm ready to go. I assume you're ready too, EVE?" He said somewhat relieved. There was so much stress he was forced to cope with recently that he needed to spend some time in a relatively less stressful environment.

"Yes, sir, gladly. I am armed with four Artemesis missiles, a single Ares Energy Cannon in my left arm, an Apollo Wrist Laser System in my right arm, lasers in my fingers, and a drill."

"Can you demonstrate your weapondry for the audience?"

"No, sir, my system is physically unable to read my weapons. In fact, my mind processes everything as a human mind does. I'm am only aware of what I have been told."

A murmer was uttered by the crowd.

"And so the EVE projects are, but watch!" Dr. Knicely urged as a man fired a rocket straight for Maria. A second later a tremendous flash erupted, momentary blinding all. By the time everyone was able to see again, the dust had clear. Maria stood alive and well and the rocket no where to be seen.

"That would be the power of her Ares. Her self-defence systems are fully equipped to later threats. Perhaps when we get to later generations they will have full control over thier weapondry, but for the EVE series, the mind will function fully as a human being's. Any questions?" he said triumphetly.

"Yes, now here is a piece of cheese." One assistant paced a small piece of cheese on a plate between all the cages. "You will find that the last mouse alive and eating the cheese is our genetically altered one." All the cages were opened and a fight began among the mice, they began biting and clawing each other as blood run on the floor. Lilith covered maria's eyes. The genetically enhanced mouse began brutally killing any others that came close to the plate, he soon forgot about the cheese entirely and focused only on killing the rest. "This is the New Age of War."

"That is bloody, barbaric, and cruel!" Lilith was shocked as she shielded Maria from the gore.
"That is war, the biggest brute kills the smaller one." She was answered simply. "That mouse a week ago had cancer, the serum took the weakest mouse of the swarm and made him into the strongest of the bunch. Imagine what we could do with a test subject like the one we have chosen, we could take a frail weak boy and make him into a Superhuman Soldier, a New Breed of Warrior. Just give us one more month and we will be ready for human tests."

Dr. Knicely watched intensely. It as a chaotic scene as the mice were torn to bits by the super mouse, bits of gore, and blood flying every which way.

"Doctor, is this what is to be expected? Will this boy transform into a violent monster. If we deploy something like that the people will fear us! We will have created a monster as bad an the abhumans," Doctor Knicely said voicing his concerns.

"If the boy goes mad, then we can just end the test like we always do." The doctor pulled out a small pistol and killed the mouse with one shot. "See? No harm done."

"Except to that poor little mouse..." Lilith picked up the rodent and cradled it, "Hush little baby don't say a word, momma's gonna' buy you a mocking bird, and if that mocking bird don't sing, momma's gonna buy you a diamond ring~" Lilith cried looking at the carnage, she looked at Doctor Light and Knicely, "They are making monsters..." The room was clear now, the mess was being cleaned up, it was all set in stone now.

EVE-1 went on to become a a celebrity among the people high ranking enough to know of her existence. She proved herself to be assertive, and able to take responsibility in a social setting. As Maria went with her guardians to explore her capabilities David Knicel worked on the second gynoid. EVE-2 would be blond with blue eyes, but little did he know that she would have a different personality too.

David sat at a table looking at the finished product. All she would need is the activation for her life to begin. He sighed as he looked at her. Maybe he should wait a day. Was he truly ready for her?

Robert walked through two large double doors, he was about five foot ten inches tall, his black hair was like obsidian while his eyes were as blue as the ocean. He had secretly been forced into this, but believed he had chosen this path for himself.
"Who is this?" A General looked at the boy.
"Robert Washington Reagan ready to serve, sir." Robert saluted.
"I asked for a man." The general sighed, "Bring him to the Medical Bay, if he passes the Physical I may reconsider." Robert followed the General and saw a girl peering out at him from around a corner, he waved and smiled but she only covered her eyes and ran off.
"Geez, must be ugly or somethin'." He sat on a metal table and was approached by a female nurse.
"Remove your shirt please?"
"Hu- hey wait, can you turn around first?" Robert was embarrassed.
"Fine...?" The nurse turned around while Robert took his shirt off and got his vitals checked by the doctor waiting.
He checked out alright, it was odd though that the perfect subject the Order had found was actually not the way they thought he would be.
"Now can you recount your personal history to me?"
"Sure, I am Robert Washington Reagan, I am ten years of age, I am an orphan, and I believe in our Creator."
"Any experience with love?"
"Yeah, I had a pet one time, her name was Susie."
"No, I mean girls."
"Nope, never loved a girl."
"You seem stable..." she flicked his forehead and noticed that he just moved back and looked at her with a questioning face. "Alright here is the first shot, it will hurt." She injected his arm, "Give that five minutes to pump through your blood stream and the next shot will be administered."
