She returned to the soothing 'Sh' noises, and gently stroked Shade's mane. This time Widowmaker found it smart not to attempt to change the subject, and just comfort Shade instead. "Eclipse, no, the Death Bringer and the tribe are two very different entities... You're not a monster... and even if you are, you're my monster," she said softly.
Shade smiled slightly at Invidea's words. "I'm your monster." he repeated, "T-then... I'll take the burden for you. I-i know that I don't deserve the title of 'Whisper', but, nether does Venator... and, I don't think you're fit to be Whisper... No, it requires a soul already black with sin..."
Widowmaker felt an odd mix of hurt and thankfulness for Shade's words. On one hoof, he was telling her that she had a kind soul... on the other hoof Shade just said she wasn't fit for her birthright. It also made her think about her father... Did that mean he had a soul black with sin? To be completely honest, Widowmaker wouldn't be surprised. "If you're going to duel Venator... I'm going to kill him," she said after some thought, "Then his mother."
