Background:
The basic premise of the RP is that the world, in 1628, is somewhat in an era of prosperity; or so much that it was. Steampunk and Clockwork technology are the main sources of power for the world; both in the domestic and military sense. Da Vinci was much more powerful in this timeline, due to the Gonfaloniere of the Florentine Republic noticing his mathematical and engineering skills early on in life. He went on to produce not only the works we know in our timeline, but also produce more than even he could have imagined. He was able to manufacture a tank-like vehicle, which brought him great fame. Due to Da Vinci's extended influence, the technology of the world advanced more quickly than in our timeline. With the first airships being built around 1478, and the New World being discovered shortly after in 1479. Though it was discovered only a few years before our timeline, it was enough to push the balance of power in the world.

Fast-forward to 1628, and the world is prosperous. Every nation has possession of at least a small Airship navy, and Landships are all too common. Soldiers, too, carry weaponry which is arguably more advanced than what we have today in many aspects. Domestically, factories chug out products using machinery which in our timeline was not discovered until the late 19th century. This lead to a large stale-mate between the Great Powers, and war has been uncommon. However, tensions have been rising recently. While it looks like the world will remain at peace, no one can be sure. Though, there is one thing everyone is sure of, the world has definitely changed. New Powers have risen, and old ones have fallen.

You will control one of these nations; whether it be a Great power of old, declining into the past, or a Grand power of new, progressing into the future. Your decisions will shape the course of this world, and perhaps the course of many others.

Explanation for the Aerial Fleet part of the app:
You'll need to state how exactly your ships run. For example, you could say they use giant propellers that do things (explanation needs to be better than that, though xD). The main things would be air balloons, propellers and jet-like steam engines. Pictures are appreciated.

Population: I would put it around 12 million due to the advances in tech

Economy: it is free market economy based mainly on agriculture with developing industrial sector
Infrastructure: it changes from state to state but most of the land is very rural. The cities are very urban though with most factories located within the,
Army: around 80,000 men with with bolt action rifles similar to the 1903 Springfield. The army has a well trained armored corps as well mostly using medium tanks along with light tanks. Heavy tanks are not in use much due to the fact that they do not have the speed to support infantry. The mechs within the army number at 10, all captured from their former colonial rulers but engineers are looking to make a new design for a mechs to give to the army.
Navy: around 15 war ships with 20 transports all steam powered. Personnel is around 25,000
Aerial Fleet: 6 air ships powered by jet like engine that uses Steam. Each airship carries one squadron of propeller driven bi-planes. Personnel is around 10,000

Will update this more when what tech we have is explained more
Goals: take out the north
History: in 1589, the Confederacy was formed by many different rebellions coming together as one for protection. It finally won it's independence in 1596 when the colonial powers withdrew their troops and made peace. The confederacy was rather stable after that following a path trying to modernize the country as it was made up of mainly agriculture based colonies.

Aerial Fleet: 4 Helium-powered Bonilla-class airships, with three more on the verge of being completed. The Bonilla class, each carrying seven AF-2 biplane fighters, measures 680 feet in length. With 2 300 hp eight-cylinder engines, they are heavily-armed with anti-aircraft cannons and machine guns, and also bombs, but this means they go slow.

Goals: Prevent Old World Aggression
History: Founded by an English explorer named Anthony Avalon, who, with a number of his sailors and exploratory team, neglected to return to the Old World in 1480. An official government was set up in 1491 after repelling a Spanish invasion. The republic quickly consolidated its gains and put a strong emphasis on the military, although this was later eased with the establishments of other Pan-American Powers. In 1529 the Avalonian Civil War broke out, with the Liberals and Conservatives allying to fight the Equalists (Communists), leading to the strong, present day government. From 1600-1602, Avalionia fought against Argentina, who attempted to invade the disputed region of Charcas (Bolivia), leading to their decimation and institution of a puppet government in Argentina. This brought a period of prosperity to Avalonia. The Economy rose and the nation was modernized. Nuclear research is currently progressing, albeit, slowly, and, without much public support or interest, is in danger of being canceled.

History: The rise of the Germanic Empire began at the end of the Dark Ages, with the rise of Brandenburg as the dominant German power. Much of northeastern Germany and Poland came under the rule of this power, culminating in the crowning of the Duke of Brandenburg as the King of Germany at the end of the Fourth German War between Bavarian forces and those of Brandenburg.

Austria came under the rule of Germania in the Second Austro-German War. After this expansion, the conquest machine ground to a halt and began building its industrial capacity to world famous heights.

It's basically a Danubian Federation, Northern Italy utilized Leo's military inventions to go for recourse rich land before anyone else caught up.

Yes but other people want that land also. Seems a bit unfair to just let it be under a massive hegemony, and plus, they wouldn't be very loyal soldiers. The opposite in fact.

You can have a technological boost if you want.
