The great Soviet Union has no religion. The Russian Empire used to be Russian Orthodox, but then the revolution came.

Also said earlier, I have to leave soon so if I decide to continue with a war I will organize forces around the fort tomorrow, and let him respond.

I don't mind rping about a war aslong as its interesting and fun so if you need to work anything out or have any questions feel free send me a telegram.

Check the IC, there's a peace treaty on your desk. Lots of people are attacking my ally the USSR, so I need to send my armies north, south, and east, not west.

I named the 'major' ones. But the Emperor, not being baptized, and not caring, has laws making religious intolerance illegal. With the penalties being pretty brutal, so you don't see much religious conflict.

Ok. Just sounds odd that a middle eastern nation might have more catholics than, say, Buddhists or Hindus.

Well; good luck with that, you won't have an easy time of it, especially since we have a General of ever-improving skill, an army with some decent combat experience to compensate for their lack of significant modern weaponry, and an Empress with enough influence and charisma to push the boundaries of the Empire far enough to serve her goals of Modernizing the Empire into an effective power in the East Mediterranean and beyond.

Should be fun dealing with your challenge to my Empire's sense of authority and supremacy.

Christianity originated in the middle east, however I think that he would be predominantly Muslim, with a small amount of Christians and Jews.

Is this open?
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Fantastic, I'll throw an application up whenever. Is it possible to reserve land? Or is it more a first-come, first-serve type thing?

True, but so did Zoroastrianism, Islam (all incarnations), Judaism, and to an extent, so did Rastafarianism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism, not to mention the ancient Egyptian, Greek, Sumerian, Persian and phoenician gods of old.

I checked out your app, and I must say I'm disappointed. Everyone else this far has been grounded in realism, at least when forming their nations themselves if not necessarily numbers. You, however, seem to think using your nation as-is according to your profile is a good idea... No offense, but that's more of a II thing than is appreciated in an RP such as this, but I don't know what the OP thinks about this; we'll see when he reviews your app, but in all honesty I wouldn't call it passing-grade materiel.

I was originally thinking an Achaemenid-style Persia, y'know, with Anatolia and whatnot, but I don't know exactly how much territory I can claim, or how technologically behind they'd be. So that would bring me to odd European dual monarchies, upon which I'm debating Anglo-Portugal, Anglo-Netherlands, or an Italic union, claiming Umbria/Sardinia/Piedmont/Sicily.

Another thought just popped into my head. The Constantinople Commune.

All taken other than Portugal. The biggest tracts of land are on Africa and Australia. You could do the Portuguese, something with more advanced aborigines, Or an African state of some sort. Keep in mind the powerful Oda Shogunate is eyeing Australia with intent to invade, and Babylonia would have part of Egypt if accepted.

Then the map needs to be updated, badly. Please elaborate as to what you mean - "all" - Literally everything that I mentioned? Because that sounds incorrect, even if the map is outdated, because I see only one reservation that would impede with those claims.

Babylonia and the Byzantines have Persia, and someone said that they wanted Britain and The Netherlands. I'm pretty sure most of Italy is filled up, so you could only have a few small city states. The map isn't updated regularly however.

Alright, there is a big deal about religion in Scandinavia.

First and foremost, we are a Lutheran, Protestant nation. The Church of Scandinavia is the national church as the Emperor serves as Archbishop, and is headquartered in Stockholm. Nearly all of our citizens follow the Church, or it's "cadet churches" with the Church of Sweden, Church of Denmark, and Church of Norway, to a T. No Paganism is not present, but there is suspicion that the Saami and Eskimo people still practice their heathen ways. Now, here's where it gets weird...

The Imperial Armed Forces requires strict discipline for it's very offensive tactics in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and the best way to do that is through the Church. Strict rules apply to a soldier in both the battlefield and his private life to keep discipline and morale high. That's all well and good, but it starts getting weird. Priests in service of the Church preach about the virtues of serving the Crown by being a soldier in order to garner volunteers over conscripts. Those priests however also serve in battle along those soldiers they recruited to further increase morale to incredibly high proportions. The Army and Navy even tell their soldiers that previous victories were God's favor shining on Scandinavia, and losses were his punishment for their sinful ways and hubris.

To take God's name in vain was among the worst crime a soldier could commit, and the punishment for this was death, since it was very important to keep the morale high among the troops, as said before. To interrupt a moment of prayer would as well lead to death penalty, be for another soldier or even enemy. The average soldier is told not to fear, since if God meant him to die, he would die no matter if he dodged the bullets or not. The brutally offensive tactics needed firm discipline, and this was the way to do it.

So, there you have it.

Ah. I'll... Have to withdraw my previous declaration, then. Not to be a poor sport or anything, but with no desirable land left, I don't see the point in this. As Portugal I'll get bullied by that French Blob, and anything else I'm assuming is laughable. Also, for the record, Australia is actually reserved, unless that, too, is outdated.
