That's a bad idea. Autonomy is never a good idea. Just look at IRL Spain.

What resources? Apart from sort of half-decent amounts of oil in Oman, which I think you have enough of anyway, there's nothing really there but pissed off people.

They're gonna keep revolting; like, terrorism, constantly.

You've kinda alienated them by moving tens of thousands of troops in, who've basically eaten and looted everything.

The Grand Republic of Hannover wrote:
Nation Name: Constitutional Monarchy of the Colombo-Peruvian Empire (Kingdom of Colombia-Peru)
Symbols: Flag and Coat of Arms
Population: 12,845,000 (as of 1900)
Location/Claims: Gran Colombia and Peru.
Capital City: Bogota
Government Type: Constitutional Monarchy
Ideology: Liberty, Order, Capitalism with South American characteristics, Diplomacy.
Leader/s: Mario A. Sanz
Economy: The country's economy has experienced rapid growth since the application of new economic and social reforms in 1870. The Banking and Currency reforms truly, positively impacted the country since it brought investments to the economy and confidence in its stability. Industries have flourished in the Andes, Pacifico, and Caribe regions- arms factories, food processing plants, cash-crops processing plants, iron-ore factories, and cotton mills have sprung up throughout these regions. In other regions, industries have grown but more concentrated in certain spots (especially in regional-capital cities). In the other regions of the country, industry has been focused in major cities as well as strategic places. The country overall is considered as semi-industrialized in World standards, however economists highlight the rapid industrialization and the high growth rate, and predict a future full of opportunity for the country.

Thanks to new technologies and past experiences, this country has become one of the major producers, in the region, of agricultural resources as well as cash crops. This has given Colombia a strategic position in the global markets. The food output has set the basis for a demographic boom in the country. Cash crops have given Colombia a solid source of income to power its growth (along with the industries). And minerals in the country have given the energy and resources needed to continue its industrial expansion. With the discovery of vasts amounts of coal, the country became not only the energy source of its own industries, but also to many others around the world (bringing wealth and prestige to the country).

Infrastructure: The country's infrastructure is very developed in the industrial zones, but it isn't as advanced in other areas. One of the greatest achievements of the government was to be able to communicate all the regions of the country with railroads- creating an essential link which has kept all the territories under direct communication from the central government. The road system of the country is also very developed, but only in the industrial regions of the country; in other underdeveloped regions, infrastructure dates back 30-40 years.

Army: 135,000 Active (45,000 Reserve).

The Colombian Army rapidly modernized after the treaties signed with Austria, Prussia, and the Ottoman Empire. European tactics were brought to the country and adapted to the environment. The modernization of the armament also came about thanks to the purchase of arms from Austria, Great Britain, Egypt, and Bavaria. Currently, the Military Academy works intensively to develop unique tactics based on the factors of weather, geography, and vegetation of the country.

Navy: 50,000 Active (15,000 Reserves).

The Colombian Navy rapidly modernized along with the army. The Navy brought tactics from Austria and the Ottoman Empire and adapted them to the environment and factors of the country's seas. With the increment in trade, the government placed more attention on the modernization of the Navy's arsenal. Purchases from Austria, the Ottoman Empire, and Britain helped Colombia established a solid navy.

Goals: "Diplomacy is the solution" -> Colombia's interests will be to pursuit trade, investment, and good relations with other countries.

History: After the successful independence from Spain, Colombia began working towards building a stable, healthy society. However, the country suffered a temporal break up and Colombia lost Venezuela and Ecuador in the process. During the 1870's Colombia was able to conquer back Venezuela and Ecuador- the opportunity rose after the harsh economic conditions and inefficiency of those governments settled in the minds of the people. Mr. Sanz, the President at the time, established a Constitutional Monarchy (with the approval of a referendum) in order to bring more stability to the central government. Thanks to the successful recovery of all of its territories and the successful establishment of economic reforms in 1870, Colombia was able to gain an influential role in South America. This helped Colombia become closer to Peru, which was suffering political instability at the time. After a successful conservative revolution in Peru, the country set up a Monarchy. A diplomatic marriage between Sanz and the Queen of Peru created a dual monarchy that united Peru and the Gran Colombia. From 1872 to 1874, both countries were united through the diplomatic marriage (with both countries having different constitutions), however after Sanz fell deeply sick (and almost dies) prominent politicians saw the weakness of such political union. In 1875, both countries were joined politically through a treaty negotiated by both governments- the treaty called for the creation of a single constitution and government. At the end of 1875, both territories approved through a referendum the Constitution which effectively replaced a Dual-Monarchy with a single monarchy and a single government.

Part of the history of the country is based on the 1870 RP in which I RP with Colombia as well.

Are you talking about the Vulkssturm?
If so, it would be 590,640 men, not 3 Million.

They're the Ottomans. :p They're special.

And anyway, they did it in a very decentralized way, and a very tolerant one too; after all, they both follow Sunni Islam, speak middle-eastern languages, etc. etc.
