You know, on a note related to this rp, I actually quite enjoy the fact that I had EH split off from real life at 2012.

For a while there we didn't notice too many tangible differences in the EH timeline and the real one (aside from the whole magic thing), but now we definitely are seeing it (in the form of Ukraine and likely many other things as well, this is just what stands out).

2013 and 2014 in the real world are way different from those years in EH. It's rather interesting to compare the timelines.

I quite like the US, as I've said before. I'm a very pro-American foreigner. I'm like a non-troll Hippostania, though I still like India more.

Hilde's final goal is to ultimate the federalization of Europe and turn it into a Germano-centric human-only superstate, from which she hopes to build a global Human Empire poised at destroying any non-human presence on the planet, and creating an unified human superculture and eventually use eugenics to improve the species. Though, let's focus only on the EU consolidation policy, for starters.

Regarding Medvedev/Putin, it's pretty clear that the Union State is pretty much the core of the new Eurasian Union. Hilde is interested in said project, and would definitely love to inglobate the EAU into her unified EU. Medvedev? I mean, Medvedev is Putin. He doesn't want to see some Westerner hijack his political magnum opus. Even more so if said Westerner happens to be a German and in charge of calling shots in the EU. He most likely sees Hilde as a threat, knowing that she may very well use all the tricks in her sleeve to expand her unified speciesist state. Even then, he knows that an all-out war against the EU would severely impair his plan, so he prefers to go Realpolitik and keep some sort of non-aggression agreement with Hilde, appeasing her with trade deals and the likes of it, in exchange of recognizing two different political spheres of influence that shouldn't be meddled with (European and Eurasian).

Both sides would try to put the USA against the other.
