William Byron, 5th Baron Byron, was known as "the Wicked Lord" and "the Devil Byron". He and his neighbour had an argument about which of their estates was bigger, resulting in Byron killing him. He hung the sword used in the act on his wall. He once killed a coachman, threw the body onto his wife, and took the reigns to drive himself. He also threw lavish parties at his manor.

When he found out that his son was marrying a girl he disapproved of, he decided to destroy his manor and spend all of his money to destroy any inheritance that he would've otherwise left for his son. When he died, the army of crickets he kept in his home left in swarms.
