Another group will break into Lucifer's library and search for information about the Gotterdamerung. A third group will assault Carnaval, thus drawing the military into combat here. Hopefully, the third group will distract from the rest. A fourth group will assault the north Military Sector. The goal of both groups is to get into the Military Sector's island."

"Then there's group five." Crowley said. "It'll be the largest. It will materialize on the northern border of the City Sector and will cut their way down into the Capitol. This group will be the only one containing Heavensgate angels, who will make up a large portion of its force; this is so they are accepted as liberators." he explained.

I'm fine with Group 1 unless you think you'll need better fighters for the "brainwashed" prisoners/slaves. If so, Group 2 also interests me as I'll have a chance to explore some of the mythos.

I'm fine with Group 1 unless you think you'll need better fighters for the "brainwashed" prisoners/slaves. If so, Group 2 also interests me as I'll have a chance to explore some of the mythos.

The issue with group two is that it'll likely require having a pretty solid knowledge of the mythos to begin with to not get confused.

I mean, you can go on that one, it's fine. But it deals with Lucifer. So, have you (you OOC) read the Lucifer oneshots?

The phone rang. Arthur glanced away from his Playboy magazine to grab it.

"Yo."

There was an audible sigh on the other end. "Mr. Dent. This is General Oliver of the United States Army."

Arthur dropped the magazine onto his desk. He slowly reached over to his coffee mug, and took a long sip. "Oliver? Were you that Colonel who I worked with during the, er, kerfuffle in Burma?"

"The very same."

"Ah, nice to hear from you again. I thought for sure you'd be dead. Or at least demoted. Good to know that you're rising up the ranks. Wait, were you the one that lost the arm? I only quit heroin four years ago, and Burma was... before I quit heroin, evidently. So, what do you need? A loan? Because if you need money, I've got an old friend. Well, not a friend, more of a-"

"Mr. Dent, there's a situation. I'm texting you some coordinates. Meet me with your team as soon as possible," the general replied. Then he hung up, leaving Arthur in silence. After a few seconds a text came through, with coordinates. Arthur ran a hand through his hair and took another sip of his coffee.

Several minutes later

The group arrived at the scene, thanks to the wonderful art of teleportation. They stood underneath a tent, which kept a number of computers and other large machines safe from the pouring rain. Outside the tent, military trucks rolled by, soldiers jumping in and out of them. A beefy, stout man with a grey moustache approached them, extending a hand to Arthur.

"Good to see you again," Oliver said.

Arthur took his hand, nodding back. "Have you always had the moustache?"

The general ignored that question, perhaps since the moustache was his best feature (it was really, really impressive, trust me). "Sorry we have to meet under these circumstances."

"It's only rain," Arthur replied timidly.

"Have you ever heard of Catharsis, Pennsylvania?"

Arthur shook his head. "Nope. Should I have?"

"Probably. But you couldn't." The general grabbed a manila folder and opened it. "Catharsis was a small farming town, until 1920. Something fell from the sky. Two things, actually. Some thought we were being attacked by Germans, others thought meteors. An Army expedition found half the town destroyed and everyone dead. All the corpses were mutilated and burnt. An Old Demon was found at the scene. It killed 13 men before an artillery shell brought it down. He went by the name of 'Garfunkel', and denied being the one to kill any of the people. When we asked about what did kill the people, Garfunkel refused to say. Finally, he stopped talking all together. On the sixth day of his imprisonment, there was a five second blackout. When the lights came back on, the guards found Garfunkel dead in his cell. Whatever killed him - and the people here - was never found. It was most likely the other thing to land here, but only a radiated crater remained. Since then, the town was closed off from the public."

Arthur nodded. "Good story. But what does this have to do with anything, especially ninety four years after the fact?"

"Because our scanners picked up an anomaly at the location of the town just this morning. A few farmers driving by said that they saw a man the size of a mountain, engulfed in flames, fall into the town. Seconds later, this storm began. Our scientists say that the storm has no signs of stopping, and that the area is covered in some kind of magical radiation. We've got some heavy-duty vehicles ready to go to the town and find out what crashed there. Maybe it'll help us with what happened in 1920, but I doubt that. All I care about now is finding out what's going on and why."

"Well, General Oliver, you've called the right people. We'll go in your vehicles to Catharsis and find out who our giant flaming man is," Arthur replied. He reached over and took the folder from the general, folded it, and shoved it into his jacket pocket. "And while I'm at it, I'll give this cold case a look-over. Maybe we'll find something along the way that'll help us avenge Mr. Garfunkel, hm?"

He turned to the group, a wide smile on his face. "Alright boys and girls. Ready for a field trip?"
