I assume that the limits on coastal provinces will go away after a certain point in time, or at least when you research "colonialism" or a similar tech, so that you can settle/conquer the new world and things like that.

Yes. Colonies have their own mechanisms and how they perform that will be revealed as the age comes.

I may just expand around Venice and call it the Venetian Empire. But then I may come in conflict with the Greeks AND western Italians later on.

I might just fight you for Venice in a few turns. Berezebel's a lot closer and a lot more unified than the Greeks in this TL.

Again, doesn't really matter. You may get a defensive bonus but if he beats you in the battle for Venice, the province is his until you take it back.

I know. Also take into consideration that with Venice I have the benefits as applied. That should give me an advantage until and if he does attack. Shouldn't lose those benefits until I lose the point, either.

ONEEEEE last question. With the coming of the new era and the new governments, do I get to change mine? Because, realistically, if you don't keep up with the hip age, Early Antiquity speaking, you eventually get phased out.

Technically there's one - Just like mechanics in games change from when they're revealed, so do the mechanics of this RP. I was debating on whether I should put this in Early Antiquity, but it seems preferential that I do. A sort of primitive empire, a kingdom administered with a Romanesque sort of way (Think the different provinces - no nobles, only ruler, below him are bureaucrats). I'll edit that into the OP momentarily, when you know, I've finished the massive essay worth 35% of my English mark that's due tonight.

You could take the Baleares, but not Gibraltar from then. You need to put some effort into taking them. Also, you wouldn't be able to hop two coastal provinces in one turn.
