OOC

Great Hall.
The students gathered in the hall, filling out most every seat. The graduating classes for this year had been unusually big.

Archmage Sumeius took the stage, staring at the sea of students in front of him. He leaned his staff against the podium and adjusted his robes. He looked very young for 600, mostly because he was an elf, but had the demeanor of a crotchety old man.

The Faction leaders were all there. On wooden stand behind Sumeius. Seras was typing something using her old magical typewriter and pouring one chemical into another. She seemed to be visibly sweating as she multitasked.

Azerec was surveying the students, eyes looking for potential pawns. He was also looking for potential assasins that may try and kill him, a wary look in his eye.

Sasara seemed a million miles away, cleaning her staff idly.

Ferrus was standing, any chair would have been demolished under his weight. He seemed to be looking at a paper on his podium inensely.

Zirron was smirking, as if privy to some joke no one else knew.

The Paladin Grandmarshal, Kereth, was glaring at the students, as if she was daring one of them to break a rule.

“I’ll keep this brief, as Im sure once I’m done you’ll all want to prepare for the exam. You have an hour from now till then. Then a one day break before your first missions. I would suggest you begin your final preparation as soon as you can. These exams will determine how the rest of your Mage career goes.”

He paused for a moment, as if remembering something then continued.

“All the Training and Sparing halls will be open to all. Your lessons will be put on hold to allow you more time to prepare. Remember, the trials are going to be tough, make sure you prepare well. The Exams will be held in the catacombs of the Great hall.”

“Right then, you all have an hour, use it well. Good luck to you all.”

That was quicker than usual... Almost all the other faction leaders thought. Sumeius tended to ramble on in his speeches, so they usually took hours to finish…
However Sumeius wanted to given the students as much time as possible to prepare today, he took the exams very seriously.

Thorvan gathered his things and made toward the exit of the Great Hall. He had lots of things to study for; he needed to take advantage of what little time he had to do this. Thorvan fused into the crowd of students fairly easily, even though he stuck out like a sore thumb amidst them. Not many Thornians went to the Mage's College, which was a shame for Thorvan. He missed seeing his people, and he felt somewhat lonely. Thorvan pushed this thought to the back of his mind, and continued walking. He had more important things to worry about.

Thorvan eventually made his way out of the building and looked at the crowd of students dispersing to their various locations. His mind turned as to where he wanted to go.

"Maybe the Great Garden...It's always nice there." He thought to himself, looking over towards the garden, which was in close proximity. He could always meditate peacefully there, and do his studies quietly... Most of the time.

After the Archmage's rather brief speech, Celica immediately began walking towards the training and sparing halls. As she walked past the other students, many of the males gazed at her long shiny black hair which hung down slightly below her knees. Not that she noticed their gawking, her mind was set on ensuring her skills remained sharp for the exam.

Life have sculpted her into an extremely competitive and dominant individual, nothing but the highest test score would sate her ego. Being a human amplified her natural tendencies, as she felt a need to prove her strength to the members of the more magically inclined races.

Many moments later, Celica arrived at the Training facility, which was quite impressive. It housed numerous different sorts of devices for any type of magical practice. She had little interest in using tools, however, she craved a live opponent for sparring.

Jolevier or Jolly as he was called left the Great Hall at a slower pace, not so in a hurry as the rest of the students. They were probably going off to test their combat skills. Jolly however was not so much inclined to do the same. He did not like getting into fights. To him there was no point. Why fight when you can sneak by or run? Luckily his powers were catered towards exactly that mindset.

At the training and sparing halls he found another girl (Celica) there standing around. He knew who she was. Jolly leaned up against the wall and gave her a cocky grin. "I bet you think you can blast your way through this exam?"

The Great Garden

Thorvan walked through the garden solemnly, respecting the plants and other forms of nature around him. He approached his favorite spot in the garden, in between a group of four trees, and surrounded by many unique flowers he enjoyed watching. Thorvan sat down in this spot cross-legged, and sat a green spell tome down in front of him, opening it to a page marked with various runes. Thorvan looked around him at the various flowers, some of them closed up, not showing their colorful petals. He waved his hand over these flowers, causing them to open up and reveal their rainbow of petals. The Thornian grinned at this, things like this made him feel in touch with nature. He resumed reading the tome, studying its pages over forest-based magic.

Celica was keeping herself entertained watching some of the other students train, very few of them seemed to have skill levels she'd consider potentially at threat to herself, so she decided to leave the room. But as she turned a boy leaned against the wall in front of her with a grin on his face.

"What does it matter to you what I think?", said Celica with a blank expression upon her face. "I will pass the exam how I see fit."

Jolevier smiled. "But what if you can't see?" He asked rhetorically while turning the surroundings pitch black for a few seconds. It made it impossible to even see your hand in front of your face. Jolly though could see perfectly. He then made a dozen copies of himself, all hollow constructs that spoke in unison.

"Or what if you see too much?" They said in unison sounding and looking exactly the same. Then the copies vanished into smoke leaving only the real Jolevier.

Jacob waited for the others to all leave, before getting up and going. He looked around after getting outside, and headed off for the Great Library. Adjusting his robes, he muttered. "Why must mother insist I wear these old magic robes? They're so old, if they were real, they wouldn't work any more." He sighed, and walked past the crowded halls, keeping his distance, until he got to the empty Harren Alley. Happily, he smiled, and, after looking around to make sure no one thought him a lunatic, said to himself, "Time to do some studies."

Chuckling, Seth watched the boy's trick. It was a neat little party trick, to be sure, but it wasn't very intimidating. In his opinion, illusions were for the weak. Looking back to the book in his hands, he continued to learn about shock spells.

The chuckle was heard. Jolevier saw Seth reading his book and began to use his illusions to change the words on the page.

"Relax, reading so much will ruin your eyes."

He replaced the rest of the pages with images of a paradise looking beach.

Closing the book, Seth rose. Eyeballing the little illusionist, he flung a fireball over his head, purposefully missing. "Don't ever fuck with me."Retrieving the book, Seth grabbed his coat and walked towards the door.

Jolevier ducked underneath the fireball. When it had missed he stood up and laughed though realizing it easily could have hit him. Or his construct for that matter for the real him was invisible in the corner. A construct of Jolevier formed in front of the large Seth on his way out. "Going so soon?"

Jacob closed his book, putting it in his bag before getting up. He'd finished his studies and needed an open place to practice his air magic, so he began the long walk to the Great Garden.

When he got there, he sighed, for someone else was there, meditating, and making him uncomfortable. "Er...Hello?"

The fireball managed to hit the wall behind Kar, he sighs, putting the cloth he was using to clean his warhammer down. He hefted his shield and Hammer, stepping towards the mages. He was not in the mood to play around...then again he was hardly even in the mood to play around.

"Do I have to smash the both of you or will you stop chucking fireballs and prancing around with your illusions?"

"Sight isn't our only sense, trickery can only fool for so long.", she said, seemingly unstartled by Jolevier's display. "Now, if you don't mind, I'll be leaving."

She turned towards a group of sparring students and aimed her pointer finger at them, a moment later she fired a golfball sided wisp in their area which proceed to explode with a blinding flash. The force flinged them in all directions knocking most of them unconscious.

Celica turned back to face Jolevier, she maintaining a blank stare, motioned for him to shoo.

"My illusions are not limited to what you can see." Jolevier's construct responded. The sound of a singing lady played for a moment in the background. It was beautiful and another one of his creations.

Joleviers construct vanished into smoke right in front of Celica. He was far away and invisible but felt the shockwave of her blast. It was not enough to knock him on his feet. Though he did respect what little effort it took for her to do so.

A new construct of him appeared before Kar. "Apologies big fellow. You way smash away if it makes you feel better." The construct bowed before him.

"invisibility isn't foolproof, you know. It always leaves minor distortions, like ripples on a pond." grabbing a mace from the paladin's weapon racks, Seth advanced on the concealed Jolevier. A brutal glint in his eye, Seth growled, "let me show you why I got sent to hell." however, as he advanced, a group of teachers walked into the room. Quickly returning the weapon, he walked over to Kar. "Sorry about that, big guy." glancing over at the corner, he realized Jovelier had probably left.

The Forged's eyes narrowed, he shook his head and sighed. Part of him was hoping they would try and fight him, he could really use a test on his new mirror shield.

The Teacher that walked in wasn't exactly a teacher, he was Azerec. He had decided to wander for a bit before he would have to provide his services as an examiner. He was always looking for potential recruits or pawns, and two in this room had struck his eye.
"I hope we are preparing well for the exams students..." his voice was like a snake, with just a hint of arrogance.

He relaxed, opening his eyes and sighing in relief. "Thanks. I would of gone to the reflecting pool, but lightning doesn't mix well with water."

Looking at a wall, he formed a ball of lightning in his hands, and threw it, exploding violently and destroying a section of it. "Uh...you know Earth magic, can you fix it?"

A new construct of him appeared before Kar. "Apologies big fellow. You way smash away if it makes you feel better." The construct bowed before him.

"Interesting.", she thought.

"What purpose do you have for speaking to me? I'm not a fan of idle conversation, do you have a reason for showcasing your mirages?", said Celica, who by now was visibly annoyed by Jolevier's presence.

She'd been paying attention to Jolevier's interactions with Seth and Kar through her peripheral vision, and was well aware that she could be speaking to a construct. She found both Seth and Kar to be more intriguing potential opponents than the illusionist.

Thorvan grinned back at him. "Of course I don't mind. Go right ahead." He said, standing up wand walking towards Jacob.

"This garden is great for studying and all around meditating. Helps me connect with nature better." He said, looking back at his spot he was sitting at.

"But I suppose a study partner wouldn't be bad.' He said, waving his hand over the flowers again, causing them to bloom

Thorvan covered his face from the explosion, laughed a bit, and looked at the wall. "I should know enough to fix it." He said.

He waved his arms around slowly, moving the clay bricks back into place, almost exactly as they were before Jacob shattered the wall.

"I mostly know plant magic, but I was taught some simple earth spells when I was younger." Thorvan said, looking at the walls still.

Feel free to contact me about any fantasy, sci-fi, or otherwise futuristic RPs, especially those involving aliens or other non-humans, especially if it is an original universe/idea. I also enjoy Mass Effect, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and many other things that transit to roleplays.

"The brutes in our class will be the top scorers most like." Jolevier's construct responded. "Then I'll be stuck with a mediocre partner. Just letting you know I have something to offer. Good day to you. " His construct winked then disappeared.
