Honey, that doesn't mean you get that. You get power regens AFTER your first post. Otherwise, 1 week into the game, a first day guy could already make a new species or 2 and destroy atlantis.

Your first post gets 5,000 power, and only that. From then on it's only regens that are after THAT.

Hey that dragon was fine because I went by my no gain laws I had 15,500 and I could make it. And if I am wrong ok I was wrong. and if it is gain I have about 30,000 power and next regen I can make a race of super giants. I guess right now I want to be wrong.
