:palm: Ok, so I messed up on that part, your scouting yield a 7 and you found good land to expand in and your Former is built, I will put it in the highlights right now( I was going to bed when I made this so I can keep up with everyone)

Well, the thing is that can you defend it or try and lay wiring down every way in order to get the power to the colony? I say let the basic one be in side the colony and more advance ones be farther away.

Would my proximity to water be relevant? Also, what would I be looking at in the way of energy production from such a venture?

Yes it will, it will be in colony or it can be out colony and right now the hydro energy production will be low compared to those like coal( Water will be 2 or 3 where coal will be 4 or 5) but the main thing is that water and solar energy production does not produce pollution so that would invite Skrooma and also the infamous Drone Riots unlike Coal or Thorium energy production.

Yes, and the only reason why it takes more to build the Hydro Factory is because of it needs to wire the factory to the colony or base.

Oh, hmm, if everyone starts with a Network Node, should I change my bonus? I kinda thought that would be one of my leg-ups, since I'm a combination of the University and the Free Drones, but I can choose something else if you want.

I did not actually specify the bonus system so I really don't know, I guess in order to level the playing field, I will allow the bonus system( I did not go into effect cause I have been working for a living) so here is how it goes.

Everyone gets a few set bonuses to their factions which goes like this;

1 Free Network Node
1 Free veteran unit(this can be a scout rover or a flamethrower unit if tech is acquired)
25% mining bonus( for resources and whatnot )
Faster building
and I will make more, I am sorry for confusing everyone.

We should go with the SMAC bonuses, where bonuses are balanced against failings. For instance, I currently have -2 Probe, which means enemy probe actions against me cost only half of what they should.
