Effect: The character can absorb damage of one particular type of equal to his Hit Point Score in addition to other damage. Damage absorbed this way is noted separately from normal damage, but has no effect on the character. When a point of normal damage is healed, one point of this type of damage is also removed. Roll 1d6 to find type of damage absorbed.

Name: Actual Metamorphosis
Range: Touch Type: C P (Conscious Physical)

Effect: Character can change into any living entity they are touching. They gain all attributes and abilities (including mutations) of the entity into which they change. The Change lasts until the character resumes their natural form or adopts that of another entity the character is touching or until the character reshapes energy. When hit by any type of energy weapon (such as a laser) the character automatically absorbs and reshapes the energy from that weapon, shooting it from their body in any direction as if they were firing a laser of the same power. Upon doing so, the character immediately resumes his normal shape. Reshaping energy is automatic, it is not with in the characters control, they can't decide not to use this power. This mutation can't be used to transform oneself into an inorganic object or entity (like a Robot).

Name: Adaptation
Range: Touch Type: U V
Duration: Constant Use: Constant
Number: Self Damage: None

Effect: Plant develops immunity to some type of physical attack not involving edged weapons once it has survived that type of attack on time. The Plant can never be immune to having its stem or stalks hacked off by swords and other edged weapons. It never gains immunity to Mental Attacks except for those which physically manifest themselves by doing damage to their target.

Range: Variable Type: C M
Duration: Constant Use: Once every 10 seconds
Number: Variable Damage: 6 points per person

Effect: Character can drain 6 Hit Points from each sentient being with in a range equal to 3 meters for each point of the character's MS. Points lost are treated as damage and may be healed. For each point drained, the character heals one point of damage to himself or temporarily adds a point to his Ht Point Score. If they later suffers damage, losses are taken first from his excess Hit Points before any damage to the character is noted. A character can't absorb more than 300 points per day and points absorbed are lost 24 hours after absorption. The character has no selective control over this power as it drains friend and foe alike when used.

Clarification: Constant in this case means that their is no limit to the number of uses per day until a max of 300 points is gained. Also it refers to the fact that if injured damage is automatically taken from stored Hit Points until they are depleted. Once a max of 300 points has been absorbed a character can not use this mutation for an entire day. Points gained dissipate after 24 hours.

Agreed, though the though occurred to me that if we did different pages, players could link the page to their characters page, rather then having to sum the effects. Though they will probably do so. We can do a single page, and then branch out if such becomes desired. I've added the entire list from the region to my previous post, which is still an incomplete list, as I have several mutations in-front of me that I never got around to listing.

Indeed, which is why at the least I think three separate pages (Plant, Mental, and Physical) are in order, as going though so many on a single page would prove difficult when it comes to finding one desired. If done on separate pages one could be more easily aided via the search feature, and categories such as Gamma World Mental Mutations, Gamma World Physical Mutations, Gamma World Defects, Gamma World Plant Mutations (mutations only plants can have).

Maybe we could just leave it up to the player's imagination, let them come up with their own powers for our approval?

(Mutations take up 16 pages of the Rule Book)

Damage: Rots through metal

Well, it's a start, we have a concept and that is the first thing that we need to finalized the mutation. Now that we have a concept, we need to think about some technicalities that may come with having corrosive blood.

Number: Self Damage: (if any) Eats though metal

Effect: The mutants blood becomes corrosive, able to eat through metal, however it won't work on flesh, as otherwise the mutants organs would have been turned to mush.

Oh... I see you've already solved the organic problem. At the moment, I can see this coming into use, in the sense of getting stabbed, and your attacker pulling only a sword handle from your chest.

We can make this work, I'll just need to contemplate it fully, I don't want to overlook something (like the metal only part).

Would the blood be some sort of rust like substance? Or the Iron in the Blood easily rust when in contact with oxygen? I know I should be thinking something like the Aliens from Aliens when it comes to this mutation.

What sort of character do you have in mind for this power?

Is it possible the viens are coated with some sort of mucus that prevents dissolving of the tissue? Nah, that, that is against the concept. Corrossive blood that only corrodes metal.

Well, so long as the mutant doesn't have the Arterial Weakness defect they should be fine. (the mutation has were veins do not cut off so as to prevent bleeding, you just keep bleeding unless pressure is applied cause the blood to coagulate.

I think it would appear more often in mutant animals... However isn't there certain amounts of iron in blood? The mutants blood would have to have some other element In it.

Also if they have a mutation which allows them to turn themselves into metal, it would not end well at all...
