That's a classic.

I... couldn't think of any abilities, and figured anyone could play an instrument, and if I did have it linked to Sorcerers, thus allowing a form of musical magic, that I may have an issue. Though, I do realize that that issue exists with any of the magic classes.

Charmera wrote:Sure. I could see if I can get a prototype frost mage up for your approval before we start just so we can beef up our classes a little.

We could do periodic updates too...

Agreed, I'll get to work on prepping the OOC. We'll update the content from time to time, and if this RP does become popular, begin shifting information over the to group wiki. I look forward to reviewing the Frost Mage.

Here's all I can say.

A Bard can only wear leather armor and is limited to using short swords, bows and other light weapons or instruments. However, unlike other weapon-based classes, Bards have the unique ability to use Song Magic, which allows them to tremendously increase their allies' combat prowess. In particular, the Bard has support songs that grant continuous buffs until cancelled.

A bard could also have the ability to focus its magic through its instrument.

alright, the wheels have started turning on some ability ideas;

Bard
Requires: Sorcerer
No mere Musician, Bards are practitioners of Song Magic, the magic of sound, which with it's vibrations carries energy. The Bard can infuse magic into notes, for good, or for ill. In Equalia the Bard is *stump*
  • Sly Flurish: A classic rogue tactic that I think distracts or misleads an opponent.
  • Song of Courage: Counter's fear.
  • Song of Rest: Sleep induction with greater rejuvenation?
  • Siren's Spell: Command of other, like, hypnosis?
A light in casing is still a light.
Tomorrow is made today.

Should be launching the OOC thread for the Sanctioned Prequel RP soon...

I also have an additional 'mini-RP' in mind....(as in it will be shorter than conventional OM&T RPs) which I'm thinking of calling
Of Men and Titans: Nightmare Fabrication which will be involve Damien and Alphie living in a world similar to the real world but this isn't a non-canon alternate dimension, rather its a virtual reality where their minds are trapped in an imaginary world built of their own inner desires while their real bodies are being kept captive and experimented on by an unseen antagonist. The plot would involve the two regaining their memories of the real OM&T world and the realization that their current world isn't real and of course finding a way to regain consciousness.

It would be a prelude to this separate OM&T Cardiff RP that is in development.

It is intended to have a heavier emphasis on the psychological aspects of their situation, though may also utilize the surreal to various degrees and a lot of creative freedom without harming the canon whatsoever since it takes place in their heads and not the physical world.

I could have the Madness join if you want...

That would be very interesting... indeed it would be quite intriguing to see the Madness living in a world based off his own inner desires... he was human once before he became the Madness... questioning reality and the nature of inner desires would probably fit him quite well.

Charm is always a good thing for a bard Siren's spell, fits this. Perhaps there could be some social grace to? Bards are to the city what a Druid is to the woods.

Almost ready to launch the sign up, hopefully we'll have some more classes, and a few characters fleshed out before the IC starts up :) I'll reserve two posts, one for work on content (a place to keep track of developments in the creation of a new class, creature, item, etc, so that one doesn't have to search posts to check on the progression), and one for accepted characters.

Really didn't have enough classes... Didn't realize that till now.

Warrior is sorely needed, as to is the bard, I suggest moving discussion on the development of both those classes to the thread. I'll begin the conversation, and see where it takes us.

I'll appreciate the assistance :)

Perhaps you could quote the Warrior segment of the content workshop to get things rolling, that should encourage others to begin contributing.

ability ideas
  • Axeman:
  • Strength of an Ox:
  • Forceful Blow: A shield breaker.

How about we add something similar to like a momentary health boost when they reach a certain point in combat?

... um, I'll, just, do it my self. I just figured that seeing someone other then the OP discuss content might encourage such behavior. I'll mention the class eventually, in the mean time, I'll begin filling out a secret character sheet for our antagonist, just so I get everything down before the IC, while allowing room for adjustment.

I should have app up for the Fantasy RP soon, I have a character in mind I'd like to play. Is it possible to combine Swordsaint and Hunter? Would the abilities of both classes be proportionately evened out when holding a hybrid class?

---

I'm also quite enjoying the start of Sorrow of the Living Dead so far, I love how its structured with a Chapter format.

Getting more awake now, wasn't quite focused a while back. I'll try to get my mind back into shape, alert, and active so I can keep the Fantasy RP rolling.

As stated in another thread, I intend to start a Superhero/Superhuman RP of some kind that I would hope leans more towards the Hero part. Nothing like the Silver Age of comics, that'd be something like two Avalon's of opposing views verbally batting it out while combating with their avatars. It'd be epic, and could work however most who play on NS are into a grey morality, blurred lines, persecution of the misunderstood, etc. Thus, this RP would be like Modern Graphic Novels. The hero may not always be right, if there is a right at all, the government isn't what it should be, and a mass air of suspicion reigns in the air. People want three dimensional characters, and that's what we are going to give them.
