Are we talking about marriage?

I have a very eligible Lady Brönhilde, age 17, sister to the Duke. The Duke himself will also be eligible soon.

Ablutja! Factbookey thing. Is this the right kinda format?
House Name: House of Caldsey

http://i.imgur.com/4CTOHN1.png This map shows geographical names, claims, titles and context. The app refers to its stuff often.

House Symbols: Flag/banner Image, sometimes simplified for symbolic use and whatnot as 5 square crosses in that pattern.
House motto/words are Lord of the North and the Sea, or via hendiadys, Lord of the Northern Sea. The "Guardian Animal" of the House is the Wolf; strong, fierce, proud, dangerous, lives in the cold, but works in packs, and fiercely independent (silly domesticated dogs :p ) National color: Blue, whatever shade of it you damn well please.

Origins of House of Caldsey
The Council of Miltde, many centuries ago, was held by the Marskean people. The Marskean people, starting south of the Glakkl river and migrating north, then living in that area as well as across the Inlet for time immemorial, had settled westwards, taking in Miltde, and now serving as nominal capital. However, the lands of the south were stratifying, feudalizing, become stronger. As such, a chieftain and his family, after fierce debate and a duel, were proclaimed hereditary ruler of all the Marskeans, to lead them to glory with a king-like figure, just like all the other peoples. He was Kaldsi the Brave, and he lived up to the name. He fought was all around, definitively establishing the Glakkl River as a border, and beginning the age-old enmity with the now assimilated peoples of the Grand Aldry of Hlangvit. He also produced quite a few bastards, which became a tradition for more than a few archdukes.

Marskean Expansion
Over the years, his descendants became known as the House of Caldsey, that dynastic household shifting about the land. It had at first just been a generic title, but over time, as things got more feudal, it changed. Mevkon the Great Kaldsiye proclaimed himself Archduke of Masche, though over time it became known as the Crown Archduchy, and was eventually recognized officially as the Archduchy of Crown. The land as a whole was known as the Archduchy of Marskea, or the Lands of Caldsey (or whatever variation of Caldsey the mostly illiterate population was using at the time). Fierce and bitter wars were fought with the Grand Aldry, but eventually, the considerably fiercer and more embattled, but much fewer and resource-drier Hlangvit people capitulated, on the condition they continue their system of government, by election of a Head Aldren (formerly Grand Aldren) by a council of the Aldry, made up of Aldren, who were appointed from the community. From then on, however, the Archduke usually pushed his heir apparent to the position of Head Aldren, which, though riled them up, eventually made them much more tolerant and pacified the northerners. Today, Hlangvit are no different from any other Marskean but in name and a few oddities. To the west, barbaric and unpopulated lands were slowly expanded into, the borders pushing forth.

Age of Feudalism
Hejnifin Caldsey, great-great-grandfather of the current Archduke, was the one who began formalizing the titles around the realm. He made it a rule that none of the slowly-developing titles could be held by by a house if they held another of the same magnitude or so, gave rights to the cities, established marches and so on. It was during his reign that Vilspedd was snatched from the locals, after centuries of sea raids from the now-ethnic homeland up north, while the sea raids also decreased. He and his descendants also began settling Cannaer, Danduc and Vidrael, after raiding it more much longer. Eventually, many new outside lands were gained in this way, while things consolidated. The titles formalized themselves with a growing population making things easier to work, with more resources, and overall, the Archduchy became more and more normal for the continent of Evarii, though it was still famous for the number of royal bastards.

Today
Today, the House slowly conforms, bit by tiny bit to the ways of the world, with the southern lands becoming normalized, and the Faith seeping into these pagan lands. The number of bastards falls, and Ievonn Caldsey lays in a memorial in the southern style, rather than the traditional northern way. The Archdukes are more prone to marry the higher-up now, rather than just whoever meets their fancy. Much of this appears to be fighting against the champion of traditionalist culture, the current Archduke Jorikk. He is generally not succumbing to massive changes, but the world wants Marskea to, and he will have to adapt. The Council of Three, Administrator Rakol, who controls the treasury, Armsmaster Terch Vandl, master of arms and war, Advisor Corill Kagfer, who manages the court, foreign relations, etc. barely a hundred years old, guides him on his way, through life and the hard bitterness of the land that he appears to acquainted with, even at the age of. It remains to see what will happen of Caldsey and its vassals, it's familyless and mostly courtlessArchduke of Crown, Archduke of Masche, Leader of the Marskeans, Overlord of Hlangvit, Lord of the North and the Sea, Protector of Hildebund, Fadginn and Miltde yet to decide how he will be written in the annals.

Land
The land is generally cold, infertile and unforgiving. However, fish and whales are hunted greatly, as there is an absurd number of them. The Marskea are the only culture that hunts whales, and does so mainly in the Afvare Ocean. There is also a fair amount of iron in Hlangvit and the many caves of Vispar, formed by erosion from the mountains and rivers, though not extending into their territories. Copper is found in Vilspedd, tin in Vidrael, while lumber is everywhere. The southern lands grow as much meagre food as possible, the north mainly herds. Hunting is always and everywhere. Horizon Cove is frozen over many a summer, and always in winter. The Wilfve Inlet is one of the main sources of fish as well, as well as crustaceans, in addition, and the southern lands are growing much food as they recover from the conquest. Overall, the lands are fairly spread out but not the most fertile, though they do have decent resources, and they provide for a population of several millions.

Military
Bigass longboat navy, fierce but disorganized military. TBD.

Vassals (apps may not be done):
Jamessonia: House Grünewald, Duchy of Mankal
Nation of Hay: County of Spigre (sorry I made you move :/)
Givious: House Crassius, March of Vilspedd

Eldest son you say?

Interesting. What is the political outlook of House Celt?

Well we want to preserve or cultureas much as possible and bring more vassals under our control.
Perhaps we could both contribute some of our land to the new couple for a new Dutchy ?

Hmm, the dowry of a Dorbeorn is typically given in the form of a citadel for the couple and a large gift of ores and woodwork. Land isn't so important as her products in the religion of Order.

A more organized local government made for an increase in trade, and a larger army was fielded.

The Greyfeathers, being a very pious kin, began the construction of a large cathedral when they first came to power. The construction of the massive Cathédrale de Saint-Arthur de Venesse, built in honor of the legendary saint believed to be the ancestor of the Greyfeathers, took many years. It looks fine to me, though you might want to say something aboutsexualreligious tensions due to your pious nature and the fact that the northern pagans regard the Faith as a bit of an upstart and kinda noobly.
