It's also my 21st birthday.

Hey, congratulations!
You can buy me beer, now!
(though, I've been old enough to drink for the last three years) but thanks man, hope you've had/are having a good Christmas

We already have fighters scrambled

Indeed, RNAS Lee-on-Solent is literally a stones throw from the channel. a very good friend of mine lives close to it, though its closed now. There was an incident with a Hunter in the 1970's, in which the aircraft crashed on takeoff and impacted 300 feet off the coast. The pilot punched out.
He would radio, but there's not going to be anyone to man the set, unless Kaya stays with the aircraft.

That's like pulling the ham and cheese out of the fridge while the stove's on fire.Le-Quebec wrote:I think he's only talking about the Royal Navy base that the Wellington is closest to Gibs; Tempsford is still a distance inland from the coastline, which is where that post takes place. Well, that, too. I just don't really see the use in "the fighters are scrambled", when there's nobody on us, and the Wellington is crashing. Unless, of course, the fighters somehow have harpoons and are planning to swarm above the wellington and support its weight to set it down gently (yes, I know that's impossible).GOram wrote:

Maybe Kaya could stay behind and give the mayday, then bail.
EDIT: Apparently, she did. I normally check the OOC before the IC...
Anyways, I didn't get anything for Christmas, save my mom's applecake (very good), some sort of sickness that made me throw up, and I'll be getting a $50 phonecard from my dad so I can activate my smartphone.

Are those Time-Life books part of their excellent World War II series? You know, those gems with title-less covers that consist of only a massive period photograph on both ends? I mean, those are in fact some of the best references on the war - the manner in which they divide each aspect of it into their own independent titles allows for more information to be stuffed into one sitting.
I currently own:
-War in the Outposts
-War in the Desert
-China-Burma-India
-Battle of Britain
-Return to the Philippines
-The Road to Tokyo
-The Air War in Europe
-Russia Besieged
-Red Army Resurgent
-The Second Front
Given the sad fact that they're now out of print (and as well as all of Time-Life's past educational works before shifting over to music and cooking), I've collected all this over the course of four to five years and still have about six or so titles left to finish. A great place to find them are antique sales and Goodwill thrift stores, the latter of which I obtain nearly all of my out-of-print references. That being said, I won't be worried about you raiding every Goodwill in sight from the Canadian to Oregon borders; we've got tons of them down south in Hollywoodland.
Oh. Gibberan; it's the people in the captured transport that are being chased by "half of the Luftwaffe". Konrad wants them dead you see. He's a determinator villain. Which reminds me: I actually have this long list of Tropes that would fit in for Excalibur's page there. It's just that I didn't really know what to do with it. Should I post it up?
