I've been to Normandy too - even got a picture of me standing in one of the craters at Pointe du Hoc on the wall behind me here in the Tiger Command Center.
The only WWII site I've been to was this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naval_Air_Station_DeLand

Slight nitpick, the SAS didn't exist until July 1941 and even then it operated in North Africa.
Surely you didn't mean the SOE?
Still kind of hard when the first SOE operative didn't drop into France until May 1941.
Personally, I'd like to know how he got his hands on a pre-production Sten and a limited-edition Welrod...

I was thinking that those weapons became his specialties as the war progressed, not that he started with them. For an SMG, I'd think he'd originally have an MP-40, while for pistols an Mle. 1935 would be expected.

Speaking of, do you mind if I say Smythe has tutored Stanford in bayonet drill?

Missed this... But, the only WWII 'site' I've been to is the Blockhaus in France. I've also been to places in Italy like the site of the San Terenzo/Bardine massacre, Fosdinovo castle (it lost a wing due to allied shelling as they pushed through the Gothic Line) and Castello Malaspina in Massa, which was a prison in the 20th century until the Nazis emptied it of all prisoners just before they withdrew from the city.

Depending on how you define 'WW2 site' I've been to a few...

I was classifying it as something where the primary draw to it is its WWIIness, but it's also an actual 'site', not just something in a field and abandoned there. So, because the Bardine/San Terenzo thing has a museum, it's probably also a 'WWII site'. The others are castles which have a bit of a 'this happened in WWII' section to them.

Can Smythe be really horrified at Page's new attire too?
As for the theme music discussion of a few posts ago...somewhat to my surprise, given how hard I've tried to fuse WW2 with my own rock/roll sensibilities, I don't think I've ever come up with such a thing for either Page or Alix. There are certain themes and motifs I associate with their overall characters, but nothing that...condensed, yet. I don't know if I'll ever decide on one, either (with one possible exception).

Apparently Iron Maiden knows a Spitfire display team, even got 'em to do a low level flyby for the opening of one of their gigs.
